Hello pixelonline,

Please ensure that you have fully downloaded the packet from Theme Forest with our latest update and then make sure if you have fully updated your theme only via FTP according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ because this is the surest method in this regard. If your problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of theme and without any untested plugins and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks.

Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear all caches and purge cdn files. Then test again. This issue was caused in the past either by plugins or an incorrect setting on the server. if the problem persists please try to re-install the theme by following this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Let us know how it goes and if the problem is still there, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can take a look.
Thank you!

Hi

Try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test the site again. If you’re using child theme make sure that it does not affect main theme’s functionality, you can also test the site without it.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can have a closer look, also include a link to this topic.

Thanks!

Hi,
If you switch your theme, there should not be any trace of the previous theme unless you have a strong cache in which case you need to clear all caches after you switch themes.
Please install the theme by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ or https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
The best thing to do when trying to learn a theme;s options and features is read the docs: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello ikidolanan,

First of all, please ensure that you have fully updated your theme using the FTP method because this is the surest method in this regard and then you will have to increase the system status parameters according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/. So, if you cannot increase these parameters, please consult your hosting provider and ask them to do this thing. Try to disable all the active plugins and leave just Visual Compser to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Just a quick follow up for old timey sake, for those coming late to this party:

IMAGE COMPRESSION

QUICK TIPS:
Test a post page with GTMetrix.com — this will show you what you need to do to improve speed specifically, for example giving you examples you can download of optimized images for the post page you test to see how that impacts you.

Also, to compress thumbnails, you can change the default compression per my guide in your wp-config file, then “regenerate thumbnails” to make smaller versions. (AND: you should be backing up your site before you mess with it, obviously!)

Alternate advanced method of compression:
download complete image folder to your PC via FTP for backup then use one of the various PC software apps to compress/process all images, then re-upload via FTP. Here is one for Windows, as just one of many examples: http://icompressor.blogspot.in/

Or, if that makes no sense or is too difficult; make backup first, then try this nifty plugin, which is a PAID service after the first 100 images; but useful to test if it works for you:

Hi,

@jydnyc
I’m glad you have figured out and solved this!

@billg76
Please check the installation guides(ftp and wordpress) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
If you install the theme via wordpress please unzip the zip file that you download from themeforest, it contains Newspaper-tf folder that you can find the theme zip file, the theme plugins and so on – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
So please upload this file – http://screencast.com/t/qw0riTrec

Thanks!

Hi there,

I recently imported post content from another site and noticed that content on the home page has been widened for some reason. Not sure if this caused the issue or not. Site: http://65c.c5d.myftpupload.com/

Its also causing the bottom feature articles in the big grid news posts not to work.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated

Regards,
Eric

Hello davider,

First of all, I will thank you for your interest to our theme. So, please ensure that you have fully downloaded the theme packet with the latest version of the theme from Theme Forest. Try to install again the latest version via FTP but only with required plugins (Newspaper 4.11.2, Social Counter 4.1 and Mobile Theme), without any untested plugins because these might create a lot of untested issues. Clear all your caches and check again the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Also, if your problem is still there after these tips, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and check how it will work with the default settings.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
after upgrading Newspaper to 7.1.1 I’m having troubles with the Mobile Theme plugin.

On mobile devices, I get this error :

wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_remote_cache is not set.

wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’
Fatal error: Class ‘td_remote_cache’ not found in /web/htdocs/www.sipuglia.net/home/site/wp-content/plugins/td-social-counter/td_social_api.php on line 48

If I disable the Mobile Theme everything works fine, but I can’t edit colors and other functions on mobile devices.
I’ve tried to uninstall Newspaper theme and all the plugins via FTP but cannot resolve this.

Can you help me ?
Thanks

Hi,
as you adviced, I’ve done a clean FTP installation of Newsmag as detailed in your documentation but the bad white padding is still there (http://wp-dev-ntr24-31ba64cdf656650e14f1f97f34ac243d.ntr24.tv/)as you can see from the higligted yellow zones (please see http://screencast.com/t/wAAWNriY).
Could you check please, and tell me how I can remove these unwanted white paddings since they seem not to be in the theme style.css?
Thanks in advance for any appreciated help.

Giuseppe

P.S. If you need the access credentials, I’ve already sent them to you by private message.
Thanks

Hi

Make sure you update the theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ From the warning message I can see that there it’s a wrong path to a file so make sure you do a clean update, clear the caches memory then test again.

Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi

I’ve checked this on my side and the Authors can see post settings. I am not sure why this happens on your side but you can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again.
Let us know how it goes and if you still can’t manage to solve this please address us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can have a closer look at this issue.

Thanks!

Hi Catalin,

I always update the them through SFTP.

After two minutes of investigating the issue I have found that you had some ifs going on above the foreach. I added and if statement above the foreach which checks if the $classes varialble isset and not empty and the warning have been elimninated.

File: Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_wp_booster_functions.php
Line: 1019

Above this line foreach ($classes as $key => $value) { I added if(isset($classes) && !empty($classes)):.

Below this line return $classes; i added endif;

Please check if this is the correct way of fixing this warning and let me know.

Thanks

Hello esplota,

Please check again if you are using the latest version of the Theme with Visual Composer on 4.11.2 and also, make sure if this process was made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Try to clear all your caches and test it again. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them and leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
So, if your plugin is still there after these changes, please try to make a new fresh install from scratch with the latest version of the theme, leave just Visual Composer installed and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

This issues seems to be related with the permissions set on your wp files. Check this link to set the permissions according with wp-docs: https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions If this does not work you can also try the solution indicated here as it seems to work: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21316282/wordpress-plugin-installation-failed-to-connect-to-ftp-server-safest-solutio

Thanks!

Hi,
You need to create a sub-domain and install wordpress on it again as you did on your main domain. Install the theme on the sub-domain also and activate it as you normally would. There is no special requirement. Use these guides:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/
You use the same activation code.
Thank you!
