recently bought your script.. Spent over 12 hours trying to get it running…
1. installed it thru wordpress, then deleted and installed thru http://ftp..
2. system info checks out ok..
3. but it just does not run and does not displays sidebars on pages, posts etc..
4. installed your newspaper default demo but that looks the same…same issues..
sidebars have never shown on any pages
5. Photos appear after a delay…There are gaps in the posts…something is terribly wrong
Please help…We would like to have the script installed / configured as per your demo. Do we have to pay extra?, please let us know.

Heh. They gave me a little “red/gold crown” for helping out 😉
I usually pop in here for a little bit while waking up, or while waiting for something to FTP to server, and got sick of watching the “progress window” .. so little bit of a time waster / karma points / or whatever. (Right now I’m uploading bunch of mods to the CMS I’m working on for our corporate site trying to integrate a YOURLS shortcode system into ‘printing’ the code into the social share buttons “on template” …
I disappear for long periods, but since I have multiple sites, and have been doing webdev for 21 years and WordPress for 11-12 years now, I’m usually at the “front” of the line in delving into new stuff like mod_pagespeed, http/2, AMP, or whatever. I guess I was also one of the folks who helped make the “shim” happen for disabling visual composer that Radu did, since one horrible series of VC versions crashed our server. Been around here with them longer than most, I guess.
Anyway – sometimes I have a “highly experienced” comment based on having to deal with a problem for “years” that many here haven’t had to suffer. Of course, some people get mad when I disagree with their comments (whining?) — but not too many of those, thankfully.
So, anyway — gingerbread cookies accepted in my virtual tip jar!
Back to the salt mine!
Hello,
Please delete the old theme from your server, download the latest version fro envato (6.6.5) and install it on your server. Maybe this will help: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
You should be able to access the server via ftp. And simply replace files. If you cannot access ftp, then please contact your hosting provider to instruct you on how to access your files on their server.
Thank you!
Hello srisurya,
Please ensure that you have deactivated wp debug from wp-config.php core file like this -> http://screencast.com/t/iWr0W63LguQj and for more information about wp-config you should find in this documentation here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress Please make sure that you have set them all the permissions for upload folder in your Cpanel/FTP.
Also, this kind of problem could come from your system status parameters and you have to increase these values in order to achieve the best result. If you do not have access to your system status file, please contact your hosting provider and then try to increase these parameters.
Please make sure your system status parameters are set properly. You can check here: http://screencast.com/t/Ka9cF6ty and then you can use this guide to see how you can increase these values: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
I’m assuming you’ve done all the normal stuff like updating the wp-config.php file, htaccess file, resave permalinks, import dbase, etc.
Well, one of the most robust and popular tools, although a little bit of learning curve also …
meaning, if you can’t manage to do FTP, then this won’t likely help …
but the plugin DUPLICATOR allows you to fully move a site and dbase from one place to another to “deploy” it or move to new server, or even change domain name.
So, if you have your local site setup as /1.2.3.4/test/site and are moving to /mysite.ooo — it can even help with that by rewriting the site URL to actual with proper serialized dbase rewrites.
Or — hire a developer who knows how to do this stuff 😉
(sorry not better answer)
it’s actually easier – in future – to setup your test site on a WORKING domain by using sub-directory like /futuresite/ then when ready update the config file to be /root/ on the same domain.
Not wise to build it locally, if you don’t already know how to migrate a site the way you’re attempting.

Best bet is to do basic install of the theme then copy over the theme “settings” from your work site to production site.
e.g., options
1) copy over the mysql dbase from your local system to server via phpmyadmin expport > import
2) copy over the settings from your theme panel for “export settings” for theme, import on working site
3) learn to use FTP to copy over your image/uploads folder from temp to live location
Lots of tutorials on web on how to move from MAMP to hosting site.
I’m trying to migrate my beautiful local built newspaper theme website to a wordpress server on Gatorhost. Six hours later..it still looks like 1999 and i am struggling for every step. Can someone help me please?
– I am missing parts of the theme panel
– I do not know how to use FTP: because it’s a pre-installed wordpress server there is not a lot information on how to migrate the images and the rest (what is the rest?).
– Also, The website misses some colors, all the menu’s, some parts of of the footer text, widgets are not working.
Where to start? Or where to begin all over again?
Thanks!!
I’d likely just use file found in the Newspaper all files download, upload that as a folder via FTP, then follow these directions
https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-method/
You don’t need to ‘create’ the base child theme, it’s included in the theme ‘all files’ downlaod.
Sorry if that didn’t help.
Hi,
If you do not have any other modifications, then you can simply replace all files and that’s it. You can update directly via ftp and replace all the files. Or maybe you have other modifications and you know the files modified for those ones so you would not replace all files. (best to always keep track and back-ups of your modifications).
There is another way to find modified files. If you have the latest version of the theme, then you can use this tool: https://forum.tagdiv.com/compare-theme-files-winmerge-tutorial/ to compare theme files from the default theme to yours.
Hope this helps.
Thank you!
The issue I have is since 14k posts have inline images in the main content as well as featured images. I need to hide .td-post-featured-image just on single posts. Trying to figure out what would need to be edited in td_module_single_base.php.
Example

Thanks in advance.
I had one site where this happened to me last year, and it was a fluster cluck, to put it politely … ended up having to do the plugin folder “reset” trick …
which you might also try …
via FTP, rename your plugin folder, login to your WP panel … log out, go back and name the plugin folder back to plugins
Hi
The child theme install process it’s the same as for any theme. It can be installed vie WordPress or simply upload it via ftp in /themes folder: http://screencast.com/t/IxtnJmkPAH81 For more details about child heme usage please check our documentation here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-child-theme-support/ and also WordPress official documentation might help: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
Thanks!
thanks Chris – I’ve tried that. As soon as VisualComposer is activated, the site disappears and I get the 500 error and can’t access the site again. Only way is to FTP in and delete the JS_Composer folder to get the site back responding.
Be sure to delete the old folder via FTP first, then upload the latest version of js_composer included with the version of theme you’re updating.
Um… go to your account on themeforest; go to downloads.
List of products you have purchased.
For the Newspaper theme, click the download link, and from the drop down, select “all files.”
This will download to your hard drive.
Open the zip file.
Find the plugins folder.
Open the js_composer zip, upload the folder to your plugins folder.
You can subscribe to update announcements for the theme by checking the box “alert me about updates” or whatever it says on the download page next to each product you bought.

e.g.,
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Best to update theme via FTP, as the Envato updater breaks on a LOT of sites. Not fault of theme.
You can get the “latest” bundled version included with the theme license, from the “all files” download for the theme from ThemeForest, in the /plugins folder. You can’t update to “latest” release of the plugin automatically as you don’t have a license for the plugin, only the ‘bundled’ free license, which is updated with theme updates as it’s proven safe and fully compatible.
Hope that helps.
Hello,
I cannot tell exactly what the error says as google translate does a poor job as always. I assume you need to install the theme again so please follow this guide to do it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!

Hello,
As I see it, your 3 replies refer to 3 different issues.
1)For the first one we are not sure how you are getting these errors so please provide more details and provide an example. you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access if it will require investigation on our part.
2)The site you exemplified has customization done that makes the javascript render the code on the front-end. The code seen there is actually theme specific code: http://screencast.com/t/PQqcgiWF
This is a customization the user made, not a theme bug or hack.
3) The call to undefined error appears when trying to access the theme files directly. These files were not meant to be accessed directly so you can follow this topic to fix the error: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/fatal-error-in-wp-contentthemesnewspaper/
Thanks.
Hello,
It means that another version of visual composer has been installed prior to this one and the file remained in the plugins folder. You need to manually access your files via ftp/cpanel and delete the jscomposer folder from here: http://screencast.com/t/wWZEYYyXx1vC
The plugin needs to create a folder before installation and if a folder with that name already exists it will provide this error.
Thank you!
Hi,
The only place the thumbnails are being controlled is here: http://screencast.com/t/mbliRB6f0nP (blue is on, grey is off)
After you edit these options you need to regenerate thumbs using a plugin. Please do this and if your plugins still are not getting generated, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access so we can inspect this issue closer. Please also include a link to this topic.
Thank you!
