Update 13.11.2021
Please accept our apologies!
If you are still facing this issue, Please update the theme to the latest version – Newspaper 11.3.2. The latest updated takes down the DRM automated system, and deletes the image. The update is fixing and prevents this issue from happening in the future. The update is already available for you as free download from your themeforest.net account.
You can find the Newspaper 11.3.2 changelog here.
You can also the tagDiv statement about the incident here.
We are deeply sorry!
Please accept our humble apologies.
Thank you!
Previous announcement version:
The Newspaper theme verifies your license key with the Envato API. If you already have a license activated on your website yet the website displays the notice LICENSE KEY IS NOT REGISTERED please follow the steps below:
- First please make sure the theme is activated with the license key from your Envato Themeforest account https://tagdiv.com/how-to-activate-the-newspaper-theme/
- In case that you use a custom wp-login link, please disable tagdiv composer plugin using FTP or cPanel, in this way you will have access to the custom wp-login link. After you login, you need to activate the tagdiv Composer to reset the license.
- If the theme was activated, please reset the theme activation from the Theme Panel – > System Status https://i.imgur.com/7Ktmd1e.png and clear the cache.
- If there is a problem or the issue remains, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will provide a solution.
We are very sorry you went through such an unpleasant experience. A miscommunication error with Envato API is causing this incident as the theme’s automated system verifies your license key with the API and fails to authenticate it.
We understand your frustration as this entire incident is damaging our image as well. We are sorry that this unusual situation caused you so much trouble. Please accept our deepest apologies. We are doing everything in our power to solve this situation as fast as possible.
Thank you for understanding.
The site can found at https://b8h.c8e.myftpupload.com/ (GoDaddy staging site)
The header is not displaying the Facebook logo or Search Icon. Also, in the breaking news ticker the left/right arrows are not showing.
When I am logged in everything displays correctly, but when I check in Chrome Incognito I just see empty squares in place of the icons.
Hello,
The mobile theme could have problems in a multisite. Recently we modified the mobile theme plugin to try and fix the problem, but it seems that it does not work in all cases unfortunately and further modifications may be needed.
Also, if you want, we can investigate the issue by email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide the wp-admin login and cPanel or FTP access.
Also, please make a full backup to all files and the database.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please let me know what theme version you have, the latest version is 11.3.1
Also, please make sure the theme install was done correctly
Install via WordPress -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
Install via FTP -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!
Hello,
There are two ways to get the theme plugins safely:
1. You can download the theme package from your account on Theme Forest -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/ and you can do a fresh install.
2. You can download the plugins from Newspaper -> Plugins.
But before this, you need to delete the tagDiv plugins manually using FTP/cPanel.
Thank you!
Hi Bettina, I will create a staging environment for you within a couple of days, and grant you access to that instead. Just to clarify, do you actually need cpanel access, or would FTP access to the public_html directory suffice?
Header.php is not loading properly, a line of script added via FTP is not loading on the front end.
I check the theme editor the code is there.
Before this I got an error of “theme not found” i manage to resolve this but any edits to the files are not working
Hi,
For the theme update, please make a full backup and try to update the theme manually via FTP/cPanel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ method B from our guide. Also please make sure that you install the theme plugin too.
For the problem with the mobile layout on pages this is look like that because you are using the mobile theme plugin, and for this you need to set the page content in mobile editor using only the elements that are provided by the mobile editor. You can check more in our guide from here https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
An alternative will be to disable this plugin and you’ll use the responsive version of the theme.
Thank you!
Hello,
You are probably uploading the whole theme package. You have to upload only the theme zip file, not the whole package which contains other items

Hello,
I think this problem is caused because the install was not done correctly, please make sure your theme and plugins are updated correctly, also, you can try to reinstall the theme and plugins
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also, please make sure you do not have other extra plugins activated during the installation, as this may interfere with the installation process.

I just purchased and installed a prebuilt website for this theme. It appears the mobile menu is showing above the desktop site, and when you scroll the home page it does not look correct. Can you please tell me what is going on? Is it because my client is using cheap Managed WordPress hosting with GoDaddy?
https://b8h.c8e.myftpupload.com/ is the demo site.
Hi,
Then at least a FTP access, because without having access to the files on host I can not help.
Or you can ask the your host to set those requirements for your website (those are part of host).

Hi,
There are more reasons, I will provide only a few of them:
– keep the theme and WordPress compatibility.
– security and bug fixes.
– new features.
Before all update we recommend to make a full backup for website and database -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ also if you have an old version, then we’ll suggest to use the update via FTP and make sure that you install and update the theme plugins too (from the Newsmag > plugins).
Thank you!
Hello,
Yes, you can update the theme to the latest version 11.3.1.
Also, I saw you use WP Bakery. This plugin is a conflict between tagDiv Composer/tagDiv Cloud Template which is why I recommend you to shift from WPBakery to tagDiv Composer because WPBakery is an old builder plugin => https://i.imgur.com/O4CA0y0.png -> https://i.imgur.com/bFnzNtQ.png -> https://i.imgur.com/mv8AhFU.png -> https://i.imgur.com/IMyLYiY.png
Also, if you use standard templates for header and footer from Theme Panel, then please make sure you have tagDiv standard pack updated and activated, please check this topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/header-styles-not-showing-on-theme-panel/
Also, please update the theme via FTP/cPanel => https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!
Hello,
According to this message the folder already exists, you need to delete that folder manually using FTP/cPanel, after that install the plugin from Newspaper plugins => https://i.imgur.com/qG0sk4Q.png
Thank you!

Hi burkert heiko, if the theme is activated, then it can be updated using our guide from here https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ there are more methods, so if you are using an old version it will be better to update via FTP/File manager.
Thank you!
Hello Rafal!
Our latest version available is 11.2. There is no sense to update only 8.7.2. I think you can do this by ftp, documentation below.
First of all, please make sure you have a backup done and then you can update the theme and the TagDiv plugins also.
Please take a look for this advice before updating: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/action-required-please-read-how-to-update-to-the-newspaper-theme-v-10/
I recommend you to make a backup and update plugins and the theme via file transfer, so that you don’t face any error: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!
Hello,
I think your case is an isolated one because I use Chrome and these options are displayed => https://www.screencast.com/t/sgGl5I6KkXaj
If you agree, we would like to investigate this issue and find out what is the cause.
To investigate we need access to your website, so please make a full backup to all files and database and contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com
Provide the wp-admin login, as well cPanel or FTP if possible.
Thank you!
Hi vixsoft, please make sure that there is no plugin that is interfering with the theme update, for this please make sure that you have a full backup, after that disable all plugins except those from the theme and try to update the theme using our guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ in situations like the one you have it is better to update the theme via file transfer protocol (FTP) -> https://i.imgur.com/0elJIXB.png also make sure that the theme plugins are installed.
Thank you!
Hi RSP, depends if the changes were made in the theme or plugins files and not in a child theme, then yes, those changes will be lost when you’ll update the theme. If the changes were made using tagDiv Composer or adding css in the theme panel without modifying the theme or plugins files then there should be no problems.
Also before making the theme update, please make sure that you have a full backup for your website and database, and only after that update the theme. I recommend to make the update via FTP/cPanel this is the only method that guaranteed that the widgets will not be removed from sidebars -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ (method B. Update the theme via FTP).
I hope this will help you!
Thank you!
Hello,
Please check what version of PHP you have, we recommend version 7.3
Please make sure that the theme install was done correctly
Install via WordPress -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
Install via FTP -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also, please make sure you have added the limit also in your wp-config.php file, in config is WP_MEMORY_LIMIT not PHP Memory Limit (there is a typo, sorry) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all lower requirements, and follow all steps; make sure that the theme is activated.
Also, if you have other plugins activate, please disable them and see if the problem persists.
Thank you!
Hi,
One one of our sites the content editor does not load (trying to add Text with Title).
Error: jquery.min.js?ver=3.6.0:2 GET https://xxx/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/wpeditor.php?wp_path=/var/www/clients/client1/web91/web/ 403
We are using the latest WordPress and the latest Newspaper Theme. System Status is all on green and we have other sites with the same server settings working properly.
What I already tried:
1. Disabled all plugins except the TagDiv ones.
2. Disabled all plugins including TagDiv ones except Tagdiv Composer.
3. Removed TagDiv Composer & TagDiv Cloud libary and installed them again via FTP.
None of the above did fix the issue. Any suggestions how to fix the issue?
Thanks!
