I have a few questions about the newspaper7 theme I bought
I am trying to set up my site at http://www.laserbeaver.com
Currently I’m setting up my homepage
I want to have a full width image slider on my page (as you can see, I allready added one there).
But…. If I set the page attributes -> template to Pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination then I get the image slider wull width and the Welcome-textblock also full width. BUT… UNDER that welcome block I see that latest articles is coming (intended) and on the right there is the sidebar.
This is not really what I want. I would like to have the image slider full width (like it is now), but the welcome text block and the sidebar should start directly under that image sliding block. Currently the welcome block uses full width too and sidebar only comes UNDER that section.
Changing the page attributes template to Pagebuilder + page title doesn’t solve the problem because I don’t want breadcrumbs and on that setting the sidebar starts allready directly under my header.
Can I solve this somehow ?

How can I do that?
I tried to add

into CUSTOM CSS
but when load the pages, it shows the shadow than remove after 0.5 sec about.

I am creating a page without an sidebars. I want to place an image (header/banner) above the text in that page so that the image is full sized and aligned with the text end to end. What should be dimensions of the image? Theme provides largest dimension of something around 600 x 450 (approximate) that I think is optimised for pages with sidebars.

I think we should go one on one by adding them how did you do it? I can give an example with the first http://sumome.com/api/load/ as you can specify cache for this file to .htaccess?

I experience several problems with Newspaper 7.3
I couldn’t find anyway to fix them, so here I am.
First, I use Big Grid 7 from visual composer for my homepage.
Looks good on the desktop, but not appear on mobile.
Second, I use post template style #8.
The header background looks good on the desktop but not appear on mobile.
In fact, the author name falls behind the social buttons so it’s not visible to the readers.
Third, the sidebar in posts not appear on mobile.
I installed the theme on 2 different websites and they both have the same problem.
I’m using Newspaper child theme.

First I wantt to say what an amazing theme you guys have produced, keep up the great work.
I do however have a question, my website laods with the default colours (auqa blue header, white background, etc.) when you first visit the website then after a second it returns to the colors I have seleced in the administration panel.
I am using the news magazine demo.
How can I edit the script so the colors I select become the default, will this involve editing the css on every line I have made changed within the theme panel?

I am trying to replicate manually. Any idea how the demo has the first block on the homepage flush with the header?
I’m having a bit of a problem getting the video player header look right. Here’s the page: http://ollekebolleke.info/
All block-titles have a little bear on the left and a line at the bottom. i’d like that too for .wpb_heading, and I can’t get it to work right. The background color remains behind the little bears. (You can’t see that, because that is what I’m working on, on localhost.)
I’m trying two ways: first I try to add this to the css. That works, but the background-image is on top of the background color. I want the background color to begin next to the image, not behind. Just as the block-titles are now.
The other way is using the theme panel. If I add padding, it works fine, but it will also move the video to the right. That’s not what I want.
How do I do that?

If you want to add or make some adjustments on your header, please notice that you should edit each header style, according on what template you will use in this regard, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/b7DN3wN0abb. If you want to develop our theme and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!

The header style of Newspaper is directly written in the page, I think it should be put in a css file, not in the HTML since it’s 300 lines long.

If you haven’t made any modifications into the theme files (css, js, php), you will not lose anything.
All modifications/customization through theme panel settings, like for: header, footer, posts, translations, etc., etc., … and all your content, never are going to lose them because they are recorded into the data base (DB).
When you want to update something, allways before make a backup/copy from all your files + DB (if something goes wrong you can revert).
It is not advisable to use Envato Toolkit for updates, I think he has received some bad feedbacks! Take your time and learn how to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol), is very easy, free and will greatly help in the future. You will have access and control to all your files from server.

I’m hoping to be helped by either resident Tag Div support or forum contributor that has already found a work around.
Here’s my problem:
The newspaper weather module pulls data from “http://openweathermap.org/find” according to “City”,”Country”
Unfortunately for my city… there is more prominent city in USA with the same name. I used our zip code for some time and it seemed to work fine but now openweather.org is yielding a country on the other side of the globe.
I really like how the weather appears in top header bar and like the widget as well. Is there a way I can hardcode the cityid for my city given by openweather?
Do I have any options? Openweather has my city… I just can’t access it via the City, Country query.

After installing the Revolution slider from the plugins folder I got the following error:
The plugin generated 445 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

I’ll drop something in the custom CSS panel.
Again, would be another good feature for future updates. If you could choose from solid, underlined, tab styles etc headers it would make it really easy to customise.

In order to achieve as you wish, please notice that you have to use a bit of CSS which hide the Header and the footer section.
The code is ->

}
I guess that you want to use only one page which does not have the header and footer section, right? So, please notice that the above code will work for the entire website. If you want that code to be applied only for a specific page, please notice that you have to use the page id class which have to be put in front of the code provided. For example, if the page ID on which I want to hide the header and footer is 699, the code should look like this -> http://screencast.com/t/UTl1cKHE

I will surely try to learn the steps that you has suggested above. I hope I have already moved the style.css to footer using speedbooster plugin ( or does actually moving mean something else?) and have probably de-enqueued from header using your code in fucntions.php . The only thing left is manually put crticial CSS in header.php using tools like https://jonassebastianohlsson.com/criticalpathcssgenerator/ . I am unaware of the steps to do so for now. But will surely learn from somewhere.

A little advice for that users who will want to use this improvement for Speed-booster plugin.
Using this code in combination for example with that one provided by Chris S in his [tutorial], you’ll have a double-edged knife (you’re warned! 🙂 ) if not used with caution.
Good to know: even if you update your theme to a new version, browsers/CDNs/… and in the end users, they all not recognize your changes until your rules for “Expire headers” will expire! and I’m sure that you’ll go crazy the tagDiv staff 🙂 with: “my users not seen me changes/updates” or similar.
In addition it should be recalled that a normal users (visitors) which makes search on Internet, will not erase the cache from their devices to see our web (recent version).
So, if you are use this snippet, use it with precaution in combination with an flexible time for expire headers depending on your activity!
Can be controled also by Cache-Control Headers but that’s another story apart
