The global setting for CATEGORY TOP POSTS STYLE is not working for HOME page or the front page. But it’s working fine for all the other categories. The Per category settings for all the categories is set to default. What should i do sir? Please guide me.

I’m busy implementing the loop homepage style for my website http://www.reizenoverdewereld.nl/. But on the main page there’s some grayish layer over the ‘featured’ picture (last post). On my current main page you see the picture of the buildings (my last post about Gunkanjima Island), but it’s quite dark. If you open the posting you will see the ‘normal’ picture. So, I think there’s some sort of layer over the picture. If so, is there some custom css to remove that ‘layer’?

First, in Posting Settings you can choose to have Sharing turned on or off. But, how do you select the social networks that appear in the sharing section of the Posts. For example, we don’t want Google+.
Secondly, I’m using Visual Composer for constructing the Homepage. I want to add Social Network buttons below the top slider. The Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest buttons can be selected from the elements and added to a section. But, we’d like larger buttons and that are positioned better. Is the best way to do that with a Raw HTML element and add the code? Please excuse my level of website code knowledge.
Thirdly, in the Theme Panel > Social Networks there is a list of social networks where links can be added. How are these used? How would these appear on the website?

Thanks for the reply! I have given all the permission, but still no effect. The visual composer is actually loading in the page builder and it is loading configuration form for the big grids in the homepage template, but it is not loading configuration form in the td_blocks. showing the configuration frame without fields to make changes.

Thanks for a great theme.
I have created a slider with revolution slider, which you can see on http://macweb.dk
But when you open the homepage on an iPhone, it cuts the top of the slide – So you can’t see whole the iPhone on the picture.
It works fine on computer, iPad etc.
Another problem is when you are using iDevices with megamenu, then you can’t select the category. You have to press on a article. How can i fix this?
Any suggestions? What can i do for fixing this :)?
I have only the default Newsmag sidebar, however only 1 of the 3 elements are showing on the blog homepage. If a post is clicked on, I can see all 3 elements on the post page. Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Try switching to the default WP theme, and see if that fixes it?
Theme should have nothing to do with your permalinks structure.
Be sure you clear ALL your server/CDN caching.
Did you try just renaming the current page you have for your home page now ?
Just change it and/or the title from “home” to “homepage” for example. Then go to your static setting and choose the new name.

Regarding plugins, I am using following Contact Form7, SEO by Yoast, Akismet, WPSmush it, w3 total cache, regenerate plugin, visual composer and tag div speed booster.
I used w3 total cache because it gave me better score.
I am aware Akismet is not supported by speed booster so what I did is i removed the code from speed booster so it won’t get disabled.
So I am not finding anything to disable except I need to start looking for Chris WordPress Pagespeed optimization tricks.
Can we disable Visual Composer when website is UP and running? Or is it always needs to be there even when I am not editing any pages or homepage?

Thanks for this answer. We made the changes and see the changes in WP backoffice but the widget still displays old articles.
What we tend to do is get the 10 or 15 most read articles of the week and have them displayed on the Widget in the Homepage sidebar.

Make sure you set your static page to the home page you created, from the WP admin panel under reading. Make sure the name of the page you create to set as static homepage is not the same as any other page on the site.

(put another way; rename your homepage static page — it won’t lose settings — then reset the static page from the wp admin panel to that new name in the drop down …)

check to see if you have a category setup as /home/ as that would conflict with a page called ‘home’ — or possibly change your ‘home’ page template for theme to what I do, I name it something like “homepager” … then set that as the static page.
Using “home” might be the prob. 🙂

The Visual Composer plugin it’s used to add theme’s elements like blocks, widgets etc on the page and customize its appearance or set it to use different layouts: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ (this is for Newspaper theme but it’s applies to Newsmag also).

I’ve been using your theme for a while now and I love it! Today I decided to “rebuild” it a little bit. On my homepage (http://tvhawks.com) I am now using Block 13 to portray the last new posts.
I was wondering, is it possible to show the FB share, Tweet and +1 button in the excerpt? Inline with the ‘Read More’ button maybe?

Hi,
If you have on page templates “Homepage – with article list”, this means that you have version 4 of the theme. So you can use module 1 to display entire content of the post, insert the read more tag to cut the text where you wish. Please note that no block was designed using this module(this module use post text content, it not using excerpt like other modules) so it can be used only for blog page, category page, latest articles..
