If you use the page builder with title you will get that result, with the headline occupying the full length of the page.

I suggest you use the Homepage – Blank template instead with a “Text Box” element and a “Widgetised Sidebar” in which you can create and display your own sidebar, the page should look something like this: http://screencast.com/t/36HrFSnqorY

Then you need to set the title from the “Text Box” to be h1.

For the feature image you can add from “Text Box” content by adding a picture at the beginning of the content using “Add Media”.

The pagination are present only in loops, what you use there is a block, not module.

Unfortunately we know about this issue, if you use load more feature on blocks, the unique article doesn’t work for the new post loaded from the block.
