Hi Calin,

after performing the 5.4 update my top menu had been removed along with the page layout. The home page was just displaying the source code, the same as if you were to click on edit the homepage and it shows the classic edit code.

I could view individual posts ok but the side columns and layout were all missing on the right hand column.

I tried to add the top menu again but it didn’t make any noticable difference. The only menu items I could see were home and contact, unfortunately I didn’t manage to take any screenshots before I manually rolled back to 5.3 to fix the issue.

I guess if its really going to help you I can upgrade to 5.4 so you can see what breaks as my site isn’t going live for another week or two. Let me know if this will help you and I can send over the website address in it’s broken state?

regards

Bob

Hello,

Please provide more details, like the link to your website.Using our theme you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
If you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer, then when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
So, the mobile responsive is what you see then that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edited with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin not.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activated and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.

Thank you!

We current have a category called Products (#6316) and a subcategory called Product Showcase (#6317). On our homepage we have a Block 11 with under the Filter tab, in the Multiple terms filter: we are trying to EXCLUDE #6316 by doing -6316 but we want to INCLUDE all posts from all categories AND the subcategory Product Showcase (#6317). However when we just exclude #6316 it also excludes all subcategories as well. Is there a way to make this work to be able to include a sub category of a category we are excluding?

I have tried looking at https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/ and did the suggestion of putting -6316, 6317 but then that returns no posts.

Thanks in advance!

Hello @dlicoppe !

Access the homepage in every language; edit it with the TagDiv Composer so you can have access to the header. Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements.

Thank you!

Hello,

You can edit the homepage with the TagDiv Composer, click on the hamburger menu and choose the menu you need from select menu. You can build the menu from Dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus.

Thank you!

Hi,
Yes, that’s right, only that homepage element post element is a little different.
Thank you!

Hi,
Our theme provides 3 versions for mobile that can be used:
1. Responsive version, this is by default when you install the theme and you do not use the mobile page or mobile theme plugin.
2. Mobile page/template this allows you to create with tagDiv Composer and cloud a different layout and set different elements for mobile and iPad/tablet and it will overwrite the responsive version.
3. Mobile theme plugin, this is a light theme version for mobile that will overwrite the mobile page and responsive version if enabled.
So when you have a mobile page/template this will be used instead of a responsive version, but if you also have the mobile theme enabled, this one will override both of them.
How to combine them? Yes, this can be possible, for example, the mobile page/template will apply only on that page or cloud template that is assigned. But what to do if you want to use a mobile theme plugin too? If you use the mobile theme, in Gutenberg editor it is an option to disable the mobile theme in the current post/page, if you use the option, then it will use the mobile page/template (if is assigned) or the responsive version.
So in your case, you can disable the mobile theme on the homepage -> https://i.imgur.com/NX57q4t.png or if you do not want it at all, disable the plugin or use it only for amp -> https://i.imgur.com/Grlz5Ee.png.
Here is also a video that explains all those -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hi,
If you are referring to changing the settings in the “Homepage post”, this can be done using tagDiv Composer by selecting the Homepage Post Element at the bottom of the block – https://i.imgur.com/BIbHE6L.jpg
Thank you!

Hello. I would like to be able to change the color of the post title for individual post. When a user goes to the homepage, I’d like some post links to be able to display a different link color. Is there a plugin or setting I’m missing?

Thank you.

After I place the “Homepage post” into a page – I cannot edit the settings of that block in TagDiv Composer. The only way I have access to that block (this doesn’t apply to other blocks on the page) is to access the Gutenberg editor & change values.

Is that correct / what you expect?

Hi,

If I want to import ONLY the homepage of : https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag_fashion/

But to leave all my other settings untouched (page settings, post settings, sidebars, menus etc etc), is there a way to do that?

I cannot see that panel on my homepage (or any other page).

Screenshot here: https://homes.scot/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/screencapture-homes-scot-wp-admin-post-php-2023-06-02-08_18_35.png

Can you advise?

Thanks

Hi,
Yes, this can be done using a category or a tag, but that category or tag still has to be set once on the blocks on the homepage, and after that, everything will be done from the WordPress editor, where you add or delete the category or tag respectively on your posts.
Thank you!

Hi,

See homepage https://homes.scot/

Which consists of 3 blocks:

Big Grid
Big Grid 5
Big Grid

I’m displaying from all post categories, I don’t want duplicated posts, but I want to be able to easily select some posts to always display towards the top in the first block.

I’d like to be able to just use sticky posts but the Big Grids don’t seem to respect sticky posts.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Using NewsMag for this site: https://homes.scot/

Is it possible for me to setup homepage such that articles are NOT DUPLICATED (so for instance as currently displaying the article:

“Home Reports & Single Survey” is in two categories “Buying” and “Selling” and so is displayed in both blocks.

I’d like to have it ONLY displayed in one block as per:

https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/

Or is that functionality only available in “Newspaper” theme?

Hi,
1. The first step will be to use a seo plugin, please try the settings mentioned in our guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/

2. This is because the headers are different, to add the link to the social on desktop social elements you’ll need to edit the homepage using tagDiv Composer and select the elements – https://i.imgur.com/3t5Kpzw.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/b6bCEcy.jpg you’ll need to set the full link (with https://www…..)

Thank you!

Hi,
For what you want, you need to use a homepage that is edited with tagdiv composer.
Blocks will be set on this page, blocks that can be filtered, and for this, if you want the posts that are part of a category not to be displayed, you just have to filter the blocks not to display that category, or if you want that only 1, 2 categories to be displayed, it is possible to filter so that only the respective categories are filtered, so when a post is created and contains the category that is filtered on the block, it will appear as well, if it does not contain it, it will not appear.
For details on how filtering works, please check this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/https://i.imgur.com/1wgj1Fy.png
Thank you!

Hello!

If you click here: https://prnt.sc/NaESqv_NoQz2, then you’ll see the mobile menu if you set it up.
Click on the mobile viewport while you edit the homepage with tagdiv composer and set your mobile menu already built in Appearance -> Menus.

Thank you!
