Hi,
The difference is that the bigger page uses flex blocks among the content, while the smaller page uses default predefined blocks.
Predefined blocks use an exact cropped thumbnail
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
So the images will be exactly as the module requires.
Flex blocks have a selection of thumb sizes – http://prntscr.com/mnmdqh
So for example this flex block is set to load a thumb of 1068px which would be to big
– http://prntscr.com/mnmfy9
Try setting a smaller thumb size for the flex blocks when the modules are small. This will reduce the overall page size.
Thanks
Hello,
The theme will create as many thumbnails as there are active in the section you showed in your screen capture. If the image is larger than 696 px the theme will create a 696 px width thumbnail for it. What are other sizes you mention>? can you provide an example of such sizes?
Thank you!
Hello,
I understand how it is done in general. However my question is specific to disabling Newspaper custom sizes only for non-featured images.
I want to resize only the featured, but the rest in the post shall be saved only in its original size without additional sizes.
Thank you
Due to the recent error: Image size smaller than recommended size AMP issue (which has already been posted about several times) I am attempted to fix this issue. I have over 240 pages I need to fix. So, I was wondering about the best approach. Can I replace the images with stock photos of each image (ie 4368 x 2912px) and Newsmag will resize the images automatically or will this ruin site performance?
I already use image compression tools via shortpixel, web caching via WP Supercache and CDN via cloudflare.
I’m getting different image sizes in my blocks. How do I get uniform sizes for all images/Thumbnails?
Thanks,
Wayne
Hello, is there a way how to generate custom size thumbnails only for the featured images? I have thousands of images where I want to have only the small, medium and large, but not all the other sizes used only for blocks. This would consume TBs of server space. Please advise.
I have the same problem and waiting for their help. It’s very strange that the quality of Flex is very good but it is very bad in other blocks. And more strange that they all look good in the Composer mode, and become bad in normal view.
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/thumbnails-are-very-blurry/#post-277037
Btw, I don’t think we need upload images with the exact sizes, because everything was fine when I worked with Newsmag.

Hi,
You can enable them all in the theme panel, then all the sizes will be created. It is not required that only the ones that are used to be enabled. There just is an option provided if some users don’t want specific sizes to be created.
The images that are set as featured images will have thumbnails created, these thumbnails will be shown in modules, blocks and grids.
Thanks
So i was using block21…and it seems that the image sizes were goofy somehow and that was what was jacking up the display. I switched to a bigger image and different block and it seems fine now.
in “posts recentes” note the difference in image quality between the PC and the smartphone. On the smartphone is terrible. I do not know what to do, because I have uploaded the image in various sizes, and the smartphone always gets bad.
However, the same image, on the same page, in places it looks great and elsewhere looks like it is blurry. So I do not believe it’s something with the image, but with the theme.
The same image that appears in “posts recentes” appears at the bottom of the page in “últimos artigos.” Note that in the “últimos artigos” the image is great and in “posts recentes” its terrible.
Is urgent.
Help me, thanks

Also, related to that, I would like to know how to edit aspects of the posts loop using the “Pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination” template.
Using TD Composer, and inserting the “Posts Loop” block that way, I’m able to freely modify the presentation such as the image sizes and how the “Custom title” looks (I don’t want it in the default blue). I experienced bugs on mobile using this method, so I decided against it.
But when I use the default “latest articles” given with the template, I find the options available in the WordPress editor’s “Posts Loop Settings” to be restrictive.
Try to regenerate the thumbnails if there are problems with the images in blocks/grids and other modules – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
This will recreate all the sizes needed by the theme – https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also be sure to check the theme requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In some cases problems with images in the media library were caused by low wp-memory or when using older versions of PHP. If you use an older version of PHP, try to use 7 or 7.1 if possible.
In case the problem remains in the website, a link to the website where the issue is happening would be helpful so I can take a look.
I don’t want to update these but add new as well.
Most grids on flex need an image around 300, others 400px wide (no height limits)
Loading an 696px image wide brings a lot of unused bandwidth and slows down page.
So can you guide me on how to add more image sizes on image_size param?
Hi,
The flex block modules use one of these thumbnails – http://prntscr.com/mgg7ui
If you modify the thumbnail sizes in the code, it will affect all the instances where that thumb is used on the whole website.
Maybe you can do what is needed using the flex block settings for the image. What exactly do you want to do?
Thanks
Hello.
I am trying to update the available image sizes on Flex Block 1 (Layout > Article Image > Image size)
I have tried with api function update_key, but i’ve failed, so I had to modify td_config.php file
Can you help me on how can I pass my own parameters on that selectbox?

Facts:
1. When I switch to other WP theme the issue does not happen.
2. ->Theme Settings ->Block settings ->Thumbs on Modules/blocks I have disabled the sizes that have a 0, the warnings does not appear, however the profile image does not upload.
3. I have disabled all plugins, no other is causing the issue.
4. I have checked System Status and the GD Library is green and available
Server software i Apache
PHP Version i 7.0.25
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!!!
Hi,
Seems the top grid is the last to load indeed. Does the same happen if you deactivate all plugins excerpt theme plugins? This is worth a try, a plugin could cause this problem. Then test again to see if there is a difference.
Also consider to regenerate the thumbnails, seems the full size of the image is used in the theme modules, they should e thumbnails. This will lead to bigger page sizes and slow loading times (the homepage has almost 10 MB – http://prntscr.com/mdqqx7). Here is a guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Thanks
Hi,
Those are the thumbnail sizes the theme creates from the images you use as featured
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
The theme will crop the thumbnails center top. Using thumbnails instead of the original images has a major positive impact on page size. So you can use images that are bigger than the sizes of the thumbnails as they will not be displayed in full. Depending on the original image aspect ratio and the module/block/grid used, the results will be different.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
Some images do not appear completely on the blog. By testing, I’ve resized in various sizes to find a suitable size, but in all sizes tested, none worked perfectly. I would like to know if you have any tips or recommendations, because I need the specific image.

Hello,
For all images (all images have the same sizes) I have option (from right side of the screen) with “Full size dropdown list”, but for some images dont have this option. As result some images in post (when user clicking on them) open a little bit bigger but not full size. How to fix it?
Hi everybody,
we own ahrensburg-portal.de with newspaper 9 installed. Unfortunately, the Thumbs on Startpage looks really bad compressed on non-retina monitors. I tried everything, but unfortunately without any luck. On Retina-Screens, it really looks way better. Here is an example:
Original Post:
https://ahrensburg-portal.de/vhs-ahrensburg-startet-ins-fruehjahrssemester/
Small thumb for retina:
https://ahrensburg-portal.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/IMG_3641-e1547204708382-200×140.jpg
Really small thumb for normal screen:
https://ahrensburg-portal.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/IMG_3641-e1547204708382-100×70.jpg
Is there a change the image sizes for the small thumbs of the blocks or do you have any other hint for me?
Thanks and greetings
Malte

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know the image sizes that are needed for each of the 13 styles? I am asking in regards to the featured images. Thank you VERY much for your help.
Sincerely,
Frustrated
Hi,
Here is talking about two different modules which use two different sizes of the image and that’s why if you will zoom in you will see a different quality of the featured image.
Thanks.
I have an issue with the logo of my website in large screens (desktop). I followed the rules for logo sizes according to documentation but it still looks small.
