Hello guys,

I want to start infinite-scroll inside the posts (Articles) not on the homepage, is there any such functionality in Newspaper theme? I am looking for an easy one-click solution. What does Infinite scroll mean? A reader goes inside certain posts and once he reaches the end of the post, next post loads up, and this keeps happening at the end of every post. This reduces the bounce rate and keeps the reader for a longer period on the site. However, I want this specifically inside the posts (Articles) and not on the homepage.

Hi,

1)Unfortunately, I do not see the problem with the author’s box and white space, sorry! I see this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ud9DPpllk2pv Provide more details and some useful screenshots with the issue so I can identify it closer.
2)I have made some tests on my website and the Post page Title are correctly displayed depending on what page you are, sorry! It seems that problems come from your website configuration. After some deeper investigations at your website, I saw that your URL is not correctly displayed when you are on Infinite Scroll template, which is not right. Also, I saw that you are using the Jetpack plugin which might break this functionality. Please remove all of the untested plugins and leave just to active only the theme and required plugins to active, clear all the caches and check the results.
3)I suppose that you have set up the previous post and that’s why you bring old posts when you scroll down. You need to set up by next posts from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/4PF1H9fgEdu
4)If you are using the Mobile Theme, this functionality will do not work, sorry! Keep the General Responsive Mobile version and the Infinite Scroll would work as expected on the mobile.
5)Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/date-time-in-the-top-bar/

Also, I have checked your license status and your support it seems to be expired. In the future, if you want to receive any support, you will need to extend it. Check here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/EpnBPyO5lXx

Hope this helps!

Thank you!

I use Google Ad Manager and display ads of different sizes, depending on the size of the user’s screen. Mapping works perfectly (https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/3423562?hl=en). However, when creating a model of single post with Infinty Scroll in the Cloud Template, from the second post, the ads are not displayed in the correct sizes. It looks like the mapping gets lost.

Would this be a problem with Ad Manager tags or would it be a problem with Infinite Scroll?

Would anyone have a solution for this?

Here’s a sample link:

2. You can use a custom css for square and auto height on siblings
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/oOokQXAwPfWK
.td-category .tdb-sibling-cat-bg:before {
border-radius: 50px;
}
.tdb_category_sibling_categories.tdb-category-siblings-inline .tdb-category-siblings .td-category {
height: auto;
}

Let me know the results!
Thanks.

Hi,
We created a new single post cloud template and we are facing an issue.
1) When the article ends, there is a lot of white space. We tried reducing the margin too, but when we reduced margin/padding then the box below it which is the author’s box, goes into the article/overlaps it. How to resolve this? (example https://www.gadgetbridge.com/news/oneplus-7-pro-press-renders-leaked-shows-full-display-and-triple-rear-camera-setup/)
2) In infinite loading, when the next article appears the statement on Chrome tab shows undefined. This should not be the case. It should show the article name. https://prnt.sc/njsw9l
3) When someone is reading an old article, say from 2-3 days ago or older. When they scroll down and trigger infinite scroll/auto load, they see an article before that date only or the next article of that day. Is there a way to show them the latest articles from the current date.
4) When can we get infinite scroll/auto loading on mobile single post pages?
5) How can we show the time also when the article was posted. Right now, only date appears, but Google gives extra marks if time also appears.

Thanks

Hello !

In order to have Infinite loading for single posts you will need to install a single post template and edit it. More information about what Cloud Library is and how to use it here: https://tagdiv.com/what-is-the-cloud-library/

Please read our documentation about how to use the Infinite Loading for Single Posts here: https://tagdiv.com/infinite-loading-for-single-posts/

Hi,

Pleas make sure that you set the settings for Infinite loading like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/b4nsaLI32Yt ->https://tagdiv.com/infinite-loading-for-single-posts/ after that set that post template on some posts https://www.screencast.com/t/kpOorgwvJqF and the results should be like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/xoDsxMAK4uT8
Making these settings the link in url should change and the loading should work normally ( set 5 not 5% ).

Thank you!

Hello !

In order to set the page loading speed you can edit that from the same settings where you activated you infinite post loading but in the “Page scroll percent”, by default is 50, as closer you get to 0 it loads faster: https://www.screencast.com/t/UeqE2zXN1fi

Thank you !

Is there a way in NewsMag to have single post infinite scroll on mobile.

I’d like the ability to have the next post load automatically (or be able to choose specific posts/categories/trending articles etc).

This seems to be a common practice now on most mobile friendly sites and as people tend to binge content at the moment it would be a great user experience if I was able to add infinite scroll to single posts – increasing time on site, pageviews and overall engagement with my site.

Hi,
We just implemented the infinite scroll option for the posts of https://www.flipa.net/ and we found 2 problems:

1. The URL does not change when you scroll from one post to another (neither on desktop nor on mobile)
2. Despite having indicated 5% in the ‘Page scroll percent’, the posts take a long time to appear and the speed of the site has slowed down a lot.

Can you please give us support (especially in the first issue)?
Thanks!

Greetings,

I created a nice template using the Cloud Library, but when I tried to use it for my single posts, I’m facing this serious problem:

All category settings are overwritten:

– I’m losing the unique background image I’ve set for the category (the site’s default one shows)
– I’m losing the unique sidebar I’ve matched with the category (since I choose the sidebar from the sidebar widget inside the cloud template. Shouldn’t there be an “auto” option there? So sidebar gets determined by Categories options and not the cloud template?)

All I’m trying to do is activate infinite loading for single posts, and I understand that the only way to do it is through Cloud Templates.

I could go as far as copy the template for each different category, and change the sidebar shown. But it still doesn’t solve the problem with the background images.

Please advise!

I’m using Newspaper 9.7 and WordPress 5.1.1.

Hello! I tried to create a post template, but I have two serious problems:

1 – duplicate comments box. I do not even need to add the comment box in the post. As long as the comments are enabled, they already appear on the page. But they appear twice, and the second box appears to be outside the layout structure, taking up the entire width of the page.

2 – Infinite loading does not work.

I left a link available so that the problem can be verified:

Dear Calin,

Have tried this to insert the Auto Ads, but it is not working – The auto ads need to be set in Newspaper > Theme panel> Analytics/Js Codes -> https://www.screencast.com/t/76QOyEIy

Have added the code like this – http://prntscr.com/n79j10

Why do you need to set ads different in single post template?
If we are using 2 or more single post templates, the Ads need to be added to them again using the tag div composer. Ads code added to one single post template will not show up on the 2nd or 3rd template.

Also, the issue is we can’t add more inline article ads there is only 1 ad spot given. Problem with long articles (say 3000 words). We need to place 4-5 inline ads after every 5-6 paragraphs. This is not possible currently.

It can be done easily with a plugin like Ads Inserter by just defining the paragraphs number where we need ads. Unfortunately, the Ad Inserter is not able to ingest with the single post cloud template.

It works with the pre-built single post templates in the theme. Earlier we were using that but there is no infinite scroll feature with the prebuilt templates. For infinite scroll, we need to use the cloud template.

This is hurting our daily Adsense revenue and many other publishers would also be having this issue.

Any way to insert more inline ads in the cloud template and also how to make the Auto Ads work with the cloud template.

Hey,
Thanks for your reply, it may looks a little weird that the first row had a sticky column and the infinite loaded don’t. The infinite loaded posts should be the same as the first post, right?

Calin

Hi,

If you are using the infinite scroll, the sticky sidebar will work only for the firs post, after is loading the second post the sidebar is no longer sticky, is possible that in coming updates this option to be implemented in our theme.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hello Catalin,

Thank you for your response but I mean I need more than 4 posts on the homepage, before pagination starts, or infinite scroll.

I want to edit the AMP design. How can I do it?
I mean, right now, on the homepage you can see only 10 article, last posted. How can I change to infinite scroll for example? Thank you.

Hi,

So the post content appears twice in the post page? maybe the cloud post template has the post content element twice in it – http://prntscr.com/n443m3 you could check that.

Or maybe the infinite load option does not work well with the events plugin. You could try and disable the option for that post template – http://prntscr.com/n4450e then see if it happens again.

Thanks

Hi,

That option is available if you use the tagDiv composer and cloud library plugin. While editing a cloud post template in the composer the option is here

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks

Hi,

Unfortunately the Infinite Loading is available only with tagDiv Cloud Library, if you want to make some changes in theme files to achieve this on default post templates you need to do this your self or consider to hire a developer, this is custom work and we do not have a team for this, so we can not provide custom work.

If you want to check the files for Infinite Loading from cloud you can check those files
