Hi guys,
Having a small issue with posting any post links to facebook. It seems that when posting the link it brings up 2 thumbnails which are the same. I have the Yoast SEO plugin installed which I assumed handled the output of posts with the featured image. Most themes I’ve used in the past were very basic and didn’t provide features such as this.
I’m not very experienced with coding and have no idea how to fix this. Does the Newspaper theme handle the post meta in such a way that may cause this?
Thanks for your time
Edit: heres an example http://imgur.com/a/iYui8
Just installed smushit and compressed my images, and it worked :O
Hello lrawareness,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files which might cause a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. If the problem is still there, try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. You should check our demo preview here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/?s=wordpress and there you will see that our theme works as expected.
Thanks for your message!
Hello misolek,
1)Please keep in mind that you should activate the theme after you have installed on your website, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/
2)Most likely, you are referring to the message which appears on the plugins area when a new plugin version is released, right? This is mentioned here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
The bundled version of the plugin does not have an activation code and you cannot update it automatically through WordPress.
Thanks for your understanding!
Ever since I have installed Technews Demo. I can no longer able to add Infinite Scrolling+Load More Pagination in Home page.
Hi, thats odd :-/ Guess there must be something wrong with my theme-install somehow then. Will try and install a fresh copy and reset theme settings and see if that does anything. Thanks for trying to replicate my issue at least 🙂
Hi,
The theme import/export theme panel settings is working properly. I have installed the magazine demo, made some changes in the theme panel and saved the export code. Then installed the default demo and imported the settings with no problem what so ever, the changes are applied. The theme export is a safe way to save the panel settings, we had no problems or issues with this feature. You can consider using alternative methods like specific backup plugins, that can export theme settings or can make full backups. Multiple fail safe options can be useful to prevent unexpected problems.
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe this is just a misunderstanding. I am assuming that you are using the demo Video page template form Visual composer – https://www.screencast.com/t/doU04d0vF
If that is the case, the page will look normally, no demo style will be loaded. To achieve the same look, you need to install the demo, or style the elements yourself similarly to the demo style. For example a background can be set for the Big Grid like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/DCTgRaar6aCa
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XSVcYYpe6Xbb
Installing the demo will provide the homepage and the custom styling, as well as it’s own settings in the theme panel.
Please correct me if I misunderstand.
Thanks
Hello vleydan,
First of all, ensure that you are using the latest theme version and then, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. I have tried to check your website but it seems to be in maintenance mode. If the problem is still there, you should try making a new clean from scratch and use only the bundled plugins and rule out any conflicts.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello MasterDrake,

By the way, do you are using the Background click Ads at your website?

Hello,
The theme does not have any options in this regard. When moving your install to a new domain, the theme is the last one to be implemented. You will need to move your wp install and database first. That holds your content. The theme only provides the style, it does not hold the content. Here is a helpful tutorial to guyide you in this process: https://www.godaddy.com/help/changing-your-wordpress-domain-name-while-moving-your-site-to-a-new-location-7568
Thank you!
Hello,
Please increase your system status parameters as this guide suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also disable all plugins and clear all caching before installing a demo to make sure the plugins do not interfere with the process.
Then try to install it again.
Thank you!
Hello ouropretooficial,
I have inspected your website and I saw that you still using some untested plugins, such as Autoptimize plugin, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/3i5BYnSt If you want to bring best results with our theme you should disable all of your untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. Do you have tried this thing? If the problem is still there, you should make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and install the theme only with bundled plugins and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
okkkkkkkkkkkkk :DDDDDDDDDDD reinstall
Hello
when I try to install default demo the installation process show a message that reports install problem (“tagDiv importer detected an error. The importer will try to recover and continue to install the demo after you click ok on this dialog.” … and suggest to check permissions, turn off debug mode, etc – of course I’ve double check this issues).
After installation process finish no demo pages and no demo posts are created.
I’ve also tried to install the “News Magazine” demo and it works perfect.
How can I solve this prob?
When I use that code (from https://www.screencast.com/t/s4Eq4Jdfdr) the importing of the theme settings work fine.
However, if you try it like this:
1. Use the default theme and then install the Magazine-demo (without content).
2. Navigate to Theme Panel > Import/Export.
3. First of all the code in “EXPORT THEME SETTINGS” does not look the same as the code from the td_panel_settings.txt-file (which it teqnically should do).
4. Just as an example, navigate to Theme Colors and change the Top Bar Background color to yellow.
5. Save and go back to Theme Panel > Import/Export and copy the code under EXPORT THEME SETTINGS.
6. Now uninstall the Magazine-demo from Theme Panel > Install demos.
7. Finally navigate once more to Theme Panel > Import/Export and paste the copyed code.
This should now at least make the top-bar yellow. However it doesn´t. It seems the export-code under Theme Panel > Import/Export doesn´t take the demo-settings into account. All I´m getting if I´m doing it this way is the very first standard settings code that was enabled before installing the demo-theme.
Could it be a bug? I´m only looking for a safe way to back up my theme settings, that´s why I´m so annoying about this 🙂
I just now installed wordpress and after that installed newspaper latest theme. I am getting this error message while using the newspaper default template (made it as homepage)
Warning: A non-numeric value encountered in /home/webposts/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_block.php on line 1008
I am starting up with a new site, kindly give a urgent solution. The broken site is still live (webposts.com)
Looks like your server isn’t setup to run long enough to upload the theme via the theme panel.
So, you either need to increase your timeout settings in your theme panel, or spend a little time learning to use FTP, as it’s the only way to 100% manage a WordPress site, and fix issues when you run into problems, need to do backups, remove busted/stuck plugins, or have install issues unrelated to the theme – as you’re having now.
You can try to first ask your hosting provider to increase the ‘timeout’ for processes and PHP processes to at least 200 seconds. Also check you have at least 64M allocated to WordPress/php in your wp-config.php file and also in your hosting php setup.
only you can manage these issues.
(I don’t work here.)
We have theme installed and very happy.
do you have a feature that lets users view the articles lets say 10 per month, and then require them to sign up to view more..i guess restrict by their IP.. it knows they viewed 10 articles etc..
Dear admin,
I want to have submenu like you have in this https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ in my site https://www.crowdpondent.com/ so how to do it ? I should install plugin or what exactly ? I read your documentation about Mega menu but it wasn’t very clear and I haven’t the same option like it’s in your screenshots, I’m using Newspaper theme v6.7 and I can’t upgrade because I did a lot of changes.Thank you
Best regards,
Hello,
Our theme is compatible with php 7.0 All the needed adjustments were made in this regard. We will investigate again but most our users have php 7.0 already installed and encounter no issues when using our theme. As the plugin says, not all errors are show stoppers. We will test again for any issues but one test is not sufficient for a good assessment. There are lots and lots of checkers and all of them provide different results. We do plan on adding full php 7.1 compatibility in the next theme update though.
We will take these errors into consideration for future updates.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please make sure you are entering the video id’s properly. They must be entered like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Rv98BgLI5Q2M
More information here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/video-playlist-2/
Then save and update the page, the playlist should display the valid videos. Also clear any caching installed, maybe the page is not refreshing because of a cache you might have.
If you already tried it like this and the video does not appear in the playlist, please check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned according to this guide, if necessary
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Or maybe there is a plugin conflict that could be preventing the playlist from working properly. You could also try as a test to disable them all except Visual composer, clear the cache if you have one. Then check to see if it is working as intended.
Thanks
Hello hemant15012015,
First of all, you should make a new clean install from scratch, remove the old theme and re-download the latest theme version from your account in Theme Forest. Then, you should install your theme via FTP way according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Notice that the theme packet is fully tested and should work as expected with the theme.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
When you uninstall a demo this will remove all the settings and content that was added. It will leave the website as it was before installing it. The theme panel settings can be found in each of the demo folder
– https://www.screencast.com/t/s4Eq4Jdfdr
You can copy the theme panel settings from the demo and import them without actually installing the demo. This should change the theme panel settings as if the demo was installed. I have tried importing the theme panel settings from the magazine demo on the default one, and it changes the theme panel and the website accordingly
– https://www.screencast.com/t/pcKm30gU
Maybe you have caching installed or something is affecting the import process if this is not working for you.
Thanks
