Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundle with our theme and try it again. (I am adding my experience with this problem to this thread – I have not resolved this problem with my site)
I read instructions and watched video and did all of it – adding Facebook app ID, key and token.
I installed through FTP then I tried uninstalling via WP.
I cleared cache each time. (used ZenCache plugin to clear cache)
The Facebook count just won’t work. I’m not sure how the WordPress install ***still remembers the old Facebook Like count, I would like to find where that data stored so I can clear THAT cache/temp file.
If there is help beyond the tutorial – which was a very good tutorial by the way – please share because I have spent a few hours on this problem.

1. Okay on the GTMetrix, you will see a Minify CSS. click on “see optimized…”. You will copy it and then go to your Editor, select or clear the style.css, then paste the minified css.
2. Search for EWWW image optimizer plugin, install it and “Bulk optimize” all your images.
3. Then search for Regenerate Thumbnails Plugin. You should Regenerate your thumbnails that way they will fit in your blocks.
4. Download WP Super cache and set it up, use mod_rewrite, it is the fastest.
5. You should get Cloudflare, and set it up as well then click on minify css and javascript but not html because WP Super Cache handles that for you.
All these should reduce your page size and increase your pagespeed.
All these settings I gave you made me score 90+ on desktop and 70+ on mobile before i added the Ads 😉
Factwide is my website, you can test its pagespeed to verify my claims.
I updated my theme from version 4 to version 6.6.1 following the update guide. After installation and activation, when I go to the theme’s Welcome page, the “Update from Newspaper 4” script is not there. Can anyone help me out please? This is a time sensitive issue. Please try to disable all the active plugins except Visual Composer, clear all your caches, purge the CDN files if you have and install only the plugins that come bundle with our theme. I do have the latest version installed, I just verified that. And it is set up per the tutorial. What now?
Recently i installed W3 Total Cache and enabled Minify. After I enable JS Minify all images show Blank Space. Then i tried disabling Image Loading – Animation (Lazyload) and all images started showing again. So there is incompatibility between JS minify and Lazyload.
Can you please suggest me which Javascript is used by Lazyload so i can exclude it by adding it in Never minify the following JS files:

Revolution Slider can be found here http://screencast.com/t/PIunnzRACn Please try to download it again from theme forest to make sure the file was not deleted by mistake. Remove your current rev slider and install the new one.
As for the featured images, there is no recommended size. The bigger the size of the image, the better the quality will be. But you will need to find a size that does not become a big burden for your website as bigger images will mean larger amounts of space occupied on the server and higher loading times. Usually about 800×600 will do.

I had this error last year and I don’t recall what you did to fix it. I updated the social plugin via FTP after it stopped updating for Facebook. When I reinstalled and used the tutorial for FB (App ID, Key, etc…) I got the error message below.
I left the social counter on my home page alone and the problem only occurs on pages/posts. It was the same way last year when it happened. Identical error.

Please switch to the default theme (select the newspaper theme not the child theme) and see if the problem is still there. If it is, please try to do a fresh install via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
If the child theme was not updated it could cause issues as some parts of the code were changed in the current version of the theme. The child theme should be updated as well.

hello I know where to locate the slider and I know how to install the slider but when I try to install it, it gives me an error saying that the slider.txt can’t be found. Also can you explain what the default size is for featured images to show up High resolution on mobile

And you have many plugins installed. If you try newspaper whit only provided plugins installed you site could load very fast and whit excellent pagespeed.
Hi, from few days ago, I started to have issues with facebook share posts.
It is not just the case with my original website, but with all websites and hostings whereever I tested it.
I even installed clean instalation on complete different server with different domain. I installed DEMO.
When I share posts on facebook it in most cases fails to pull the FEATURED image.
Sometimes it pulls featured image, sometimes not, but there are times and ”places” where it do not pull f.image at all.
Funny.
The google+ post share is working normal.
Seems like fb is having some dificulties with pulling featured images from post for some reason.
Can you please check it out.

For a cache plugin we recommend WP Super Cache. It’s free of charge.
As for css and js , you can use the tagdiv speedbooster plugin. Just install it from the plugins area->add new and select it from the plugins folder that comes with the theme. The speedbooster app has a plugin compatibility list and if it finds plugins that are not on that particular list it will shut down.
