When i install the default demo without content. It makes a totally different look than the original with content included.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and only the required plugins which come bundled with theme packet. Also, please make sure that you have the latest version of child theme wich come bundled with the theme. Please keep in mind that each demo from our list of demos is fully tested with the theme and we have not encountered any issue in this regard. Please try to make a new clean install from scratch and install only the theme with the required plugins and install the demo in the main theme and check the results. You can create your very own page, you do not have to use the predefined one. In fact we do not recommend editing the dummy data as when you decide to uninstall or switch demos, the dummy content will be removed even if you edit it and add your own content over it. You are better off installing the demo without content and start creating original content.
The section below the video playlist is not controlled from visual composer. It is the latest articles element that is added through the page template. https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
As for the footer, the first 2 footer styles (1 and 2) have predefined content that cannot be edited. iof you want to change this, you will have to choose a different footer template that does not have content and then use the widgets section of wp to add content to the footer 1 footer 2 and footer 3 widgets.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.4) with the most recent version of required plugins (Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1). Also, make sure that you have fully updated the theme via FTP way because this is the most precise method in this regard. Also, if your problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme, purge CDN files you are using the CDN system, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hi,
If you edited the dummy data, then it will get removed when switching or uninstalling demos. If you want to restore the theme homepage to the demo style without reinstalling it, you can do it by adding elements in visual composer and replicating the design. you can create your own design on pages using our theme modules and blocks. Play around in visual composer on page edit and you will see it’s pretty simple to add or remove content and change the settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

Well there is no default homepage unless you install the demo. If you want to get the dummy data back, you can simply uninstall the demo and reinstall it again: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
We do not recommend editing the demo data as it will get removed when you decide to switch demos even if you edit the content. We suggest creating your own content, not editing the dummy data.

Well the politics demo is not presented in that tutorial you mention. It presents a way to create a homepage using visual composer, not a way to replicate the politics demo.
If you like the politics demo look, simply install the politics demo and you will have the style and content if you choose to: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
As an alternative, you can simply replicate it in visual composer and revolution slider.
The elements used on all our demos can be created through the page builder. There are slight variatiuons with the css but not structural changes.

I am trying to install Newsmag in place of Mustang Lite (https://www.webmandesign.eu/mustang-wordpress-theme/), which also uses Visual Composer. When I activate the theme and then create columns, they do not display correctly even though everything looks fine on the back end (the items stack instead of being side by side). I had the same issue whether I used demo content or built a page from scratch. Thanks.

I didn’t edit any demo content so should be okay. I’ll just uninstall the demo and do things manually rather than reinstalling one of the other demos.

If you want to achieve this feature, please notice that first of all, you will have to read our documentation about our Mega Menu feature like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/ and then should do yourself. Our demo uses the block 23 which uses the module 18, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/BsPZSasV0FOF Also, please keep in mind that each from our demo has an own design because each other has a style.css design core which will be installed when the demo is imported and probably that’s why you will no bring the same layout and design for your side. If you want to have the similar layout you will have to load the Say What demo. How would i re-create my homepage? I use demo without content when installing. Right now it is a feed basically with all the posts.
I really don’t get why this theme is so slow for my site. I’m talking aol dialup slow, on a live med/high traffic site. There’s nothing on my site that’s really out of the ordinary. I optimize my images, did the cache, have many of the same plugins as my old theme, have the minimum requirements for the theme, etc.
So last question — could it be because I installed it as the demo WITH the content (later deleting the content). Should I try reinstalling it with no demo content? Thanks.

Please keep in mind that each demo has an own style which is loaded when you install that demo. This is not a simple task to change the default style to look like as Travel Demo, for example (these customizations involve custom work). I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some js errors to the console. Most likely, all of those appear due bad theme installation. Please try to re-install your theme, remove the actual and install it again via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, please install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Do you know what’s the best way to go from installing a demo version with content, to live? I have an existing site with a lot of posts, and am going to be upgrading with the newspaper theme. Is it as simple as deleting all of the demo posts and I’ll be good to go live? Thanks for any info.

As I understand it, you want to create your Travel project using our Black version, right? So, please notice that you can do it but first of all, you will have to install this demo or what you want, and I suggest you installing it without content.
