Hello,
This could be caused by an old PHP version or poor memory allocation. Please try it again but this time increase your php version to 7.2 and use this guide to make the proper wordpress and php memory allocation:

Thank you!

Hi Calin,
I (think) I could increase the memory limit to 256, but when I try to add the code to .htaccess file, I get a error and the site wont load.
Can you advise me what to do? I can give you access if necessary.
Hello,
We have been using newsmag for a few years. Till the recent updates to WordPress 5.0.3 and PHP7.2 we were very satisfied with the theme. After the updates we have excessive php calls which causes high memory usage and a reboot of the server even on a very low traffic day. Our virtual private server has 4GB of Ram and 256MB of PHP memory limit.
This is what we receive at WP-CLI:
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 94371840 bytes exhausted (tried
to allocate 79 bytes) in
/home/……../wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php
on line 1385
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 94371840 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 79 bytes) in
/home/……./wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_util.php
on line 1385
When we activate default theme server comes back to its stable position.
– Could you please suggest me on how to resolve the issue.
– We were just comparing newsmag with newspaper these days. Do you think switching to newspaper theme would be a solution for memory issues.
Thanks
Tanner

Hi,
If you have more installed plugins, the PHP memory should have to be increased if you want to achieve better theme results. Remove all of these and leave just to active only a few required plugins and you will see that the memory is enough.
Thanks for the message!
Hi Catalin! Thank you for your response.
You are right, it’s not a bug, but the latest update is using much resources from server.
In this guide you are suggesting that WP_MEMORY_LIMIT parameter should be set to at least 256MB, but for me 256MB were not enough (on the previous version were enough but not after updating to version 9.5). After I increased that value to 512MB the error was gone.
I’m sure that you guys will optimize the theme in the new versions that will come (overall the theme is using a lot of resources).

Hi,
So the theme requirements are as mentioned in the guide but after the theme is updated the website crashes. Usually this is related to insufficient wp-memory. We recommend a value of 256M for most websites, when possible. If this is not allowed by your host then there could be various problems and there would be nothing we can do about it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Try to deactivate all plugins, if you use a child theme deactivate it. Then update the theme again, also update the theme plugins.

Hi,
This is happen in most cases because the wp memory is to not enough, please make sure that the theme system status is configured as mentioned in the requirements guide. Please follow the guide carefully

and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Thank you for your understandinG!
Hi,
You could start by checking if the theme requirements are met
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
We recommend a value of 256M for the wp-memory, which should be enough for most websites. If you already checked this, the next step to investigate would be plugins. Deactivate them all except theme plugins and check again.
In case you already tried these suggestions, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, cPanel will also be helpful. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
After contacting my hosting provider and describing the problem and the System status notes, they changed max_execution_time to 120, php memory limit to 256MB and upload to 50MB. Just finished updating the theme no problem. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi there,
Recently after a theme upgrade I have lost the ability to make saves in the theme panel. I increased the memory size and did the other suggested modifications but i’ve been out of luck so far.
It really helps to use MariaDB also instead of mySQL. Im using a VPS with 2Gb memory with MariaDB and it works just fine. (Note here that I have 8 other WP running of the same space). Im getting roughly 95 for both mobile and desktop (pagespeed insights). Note: You cannot add additional plugins however besides the recommended ones, because they really slow down things if added.
I found i get around 15% speed saving by minifying CSS on desktop.
Also the mobile app is necessary (despite in the guide saying its not needed) due to speed.
