The main reasons for a high cpu usage has always been Visual composer. That is why in our current theme version we launched our own page builder/front-end editor which is much lighter on the cpu. Lots of complex elements in visual composer quickly increase the cpu usage. Try to update your theme to the latest version but keep in mind you will have to re-create your pages using the new page builder as keeping both plugins active at the same time will not work properly, neither will editing a page with the new page builder which was previously created with visual composer.
Also you after you update you can increse the php version to 7.1 and check the proper memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Insufficient PHP memory can be the cause for the theme panel saving issues. Make sure that the WordPress and server parameters are as recommended, and then check if the problem is solved.

probably need to be way more specific?
a) check system status to see if timeout issue or not enough memory
b) what are you trying to do exactly — what do you expect, what actually happens?
c) did you check your plugins to see if a conflict, such as jetpack?
d) did you adjust any caching or CDN setting while building pages, like turning that off to see if the issue?
I don’t work here; just feedback. Works for me.
Most often it’s
a) permissions issue due to how WP was installed (owned by apache, etc)
b) timeout issue while server trying to install
c) running out of memory, due to too little memory for WP (really should increase default from 40M to 64M or higher)
d) security setting on server for php
e) uploading corrupt file
f) timeout of your ISP connection to server
(( etc. ))
FTP is best way to install anything with WP.

Hi there,
I’m wanting to change the opacity and colour of the white that the content sits on, so I can partially see the background through it. I’ve done it before on another page I created (www.thegreatdayout.com.au), but I can’t for the life of me found where I did it. I wouldn’t have used custom CSS etc, so it must be in the Theme Panel somewhere. To clarify, its slightly transparent on all posts and pages.
Can someone please jog my memory?

For some reason nomatter what I enter into any of the ads field they do not save. In fact no matter what I enter or any field I change in the Ads section, nothing carries over once I refresh the Ads section after clicking save.

First of all I really like your ideas with that version and I’m a big fan of your Newspaper-Theme. We startet our new WordPress Setup for our next Magazine with version 8. We detected a couple of issues:
• We tried to style our Startpage with TagDiv Composer. Doesn’t matter witch module we drop into the content we had just a loading circle. After calling for help we got the answer to increase the PHP Memory. Now our PHP Memory is 256 MB and the Problem is still there. We decided to use VisualComposer 5.1.1 again.
• On Startpage (https://handmade-hobby.com/) you see that we introduce our site with module „Homepage Post“. We know that module from our first magazine. In this case the picture is in the background but no Post-Picture in the contend-field.
• With using VC we have some issues in the standard Footer. The posts are missing. Within the blog-posts the footer is ok.
Please help.

thanks for your fast answer. We set the PHP Memory up to 256 MB but it’s still not working. Additional we tried many other things, no success. We have to use VC now.

Helps to use PHP 5.6 and higher which has opcache built in as good starting point.
WP SuperCache works well for most because you’re loading static pages, which is preferred by “most” hosts as if you have 1,000 domains on a box, if they all use too much memory, not enough memory to run all the sites.
If you have your own server, consider using Varnish;
OR: also nextgen tech like https + PHP 7 + http/2 is the “new way to fly” as the entire page is compressed into one packet, not a bunch of pieces, and THAT gets cached by server.
The main issue with CPU, is to switch to using TD Composer vs Visual Composer. Seriously.
I have searched the forum for memcached to see what solutions different people have come up with. I can’t say I found any one in particular specific enough to use. In addition some of the solutions are more than 6 months old and in the time of technology that is too long. New versions of everything are already on the market.
Best as I can tell, WP SuperCache is part of the problem because it stores to disk vs using RAM memory.
There is a recommendation to use this plugin for memcached

W3 Total Cache I’m being told is a better solution, but not supported by the Newspaper theme.
We are WordPress 4.8, Newspaper Theme Version 8.0, and WP SuperCache Version 1.4.9

This error came suddenly, think it came after upgrading the theme.
The only error text is:
File is empty. Please upload something more substantial.
I have earlier seen something like this, but then it also always says something about the php.ini when i surfed around for help. Like in the link Edward posted… different error.
My phph.ini:

Plugins can also affect the proper functionality of the builder so please try to disable all other plugins except visual composer and clear all caching.

I believe all the ads are normal IAB standard sizes.
I don’t think the PSD for logo would work as it’s flattened if memory serves and doesn’t include the font used.
I don’t work here, just working from memory on that.
just bought the newspaper 8 theme and same problem with plugin tag composer. Have checked and set the memory to 64 but still cant get it installed. the same error The plugin does not have a valid header. shows.

Most likely, your PHP memory is exhausted and that’s why you cannot make any changes.
