Hi,
I believe by default that menu setting is set to no preloading. Indeed disabling it will improve performance.
You can test your website with online tools, try gtmetrix for example or Google insights and check the results and suggestions provided there. Optimize as many as possible, results should follow.
There are many topics here on the forum in terms of speed improvements and optimization. Some of them here for example

Hi.
How to improve performance in my site (tutods.net)?
I do not know how to minify js, html and css, combine external js.
What they recommend?
Hi,
Most javascript functionality is broken in the post pages, search not working, related articles/more from author is useless, even the main menu arrows seem to be missing.
It could be related to an error that is displayed in the inspector console, seems related to a script that is loaded from a “mmr” folder
– https://www.screencast.com/t/YNUb2JrwY9
From what I can find online it could be a Merge & Minify & Refresh plugin or code. Please try to temporarily remove or deactivate this plugin and test to see if the problem is solved. If you have a cache clear it after removing/deactivating.
Thanks

Hi,
Simply installing the theme does not provide blazing fast loading speeds. Optimizations have to be made in order to improve the loading speed. Start with what the test suggests, fix as many as possible. Search the forum for user recommendations, also guides/tutorials
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
Each optimization will contribute to the faster loading of the website. Of course it depends on the hosting as well.
Thanks

Hi,
The theme stylesheet should contain all the CSS necessary for all elements. Removing block code from the theme files will not affect the stylesheet.
Most users minify the stylesheet for a smaller size, that would be the only proper way of reducing it.
Newspaper although similar in some way to the discontinued ionmag theme, does not share the same plugin system. All the elements are included by default, ionmag had a free version and a premium version. The difference was the premium plugins. Newspaper includes them all in one package.
In the end it depends on what pages contain, they can have multiple grids and blocks and be heavy on resources, or contain fewer elements.
So the same functionality by plugins as with ionmag would not be possible with Newspaper.
Check the forum, there are many speed optimization topics you can follow, provided by theme users.
Thanks

try this, disable w3 total cache and install autoptimize, Async JavaScript (works better with autoptimize). Exclude “wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js” and defer other java scripts. And also minify the CSS.

aloysiuspattath.
Try to clear you autoptimize cache and the wp super cache plugin cache (or cache for the plugin you use if not wp super cache) and see if it resolves the issue. Then debug your posts again as directed by Simion. I used the autoptimize plugin before and did not have issues with it, but I had disabled CSS and js minification for HTML. I now use fast velocity minify.

Hi,
The js the theme serves is already minified, you could minify the CSS with an online tool for example, or as mentioned in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
There are many topics in this forum concerning website optimization, you could search for some and take a look. They might be helpful for you as well.
Hi,
Use the suggestion provided by a theme user in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
A minified js will be served by the theme by default.
For moving resources you need a render blocking plugin, such as the speed booster
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Note that the speed booster will be deactivated if it detects plugins that are not part of this list
– https://www.screencast.com/t/TqHrzrA6y
This check could be disabled and the booster will always be active, you can then make check if everything works properly
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tinymce-advanced-and-other-various-disabling-speed-boster/
There would be other render blocking plugins or solutions online, maybe you can also test others.
Check the theme requirements here, we notice that for many users a 256M memory limit is sufficient, if allowed by the hosting
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Use PHP versions up to 7.2 with the theme, 7.1 or so would be best.
Thanks
That topic suggests that you make the modification in the default js file then minify it, I tried that and it works

No more related videos on pause or end video – https://www.screencast.com/t/t8cz8Q6y
Hi,
Try to minify the CSS, minify it manually
– https://cssminifier.com/
Or try as suggested here in this topic by a theme user
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
Thanks
Hi,
Super cache will serve the cached version of the website to non-logged users, try installing it and check while not logged in. Admins or logged users will not be served with cached content. We have a guide for it, the interface of the plugin changed but most of the settings are the same

Try to minify the CSS as well, minify it manually
– https://cssminifier.com/
Or try as suggested here in this topic
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
I see only one error in the website, related to some plugin

That might not cause slow loading speed however.
You should also consider using the latest version of theme theme when available, there are fixes and improvements with each update. Since 8.7.5 the theme is also GDPR compliant as well. This is an update guide

Well i started with deleting the images from some blocks (less requests and better text to code ratio). Try to use only plugins if u really need them keep them as few as possible. Optimizing and compressing the images you post is something to do there’s several plugins wich can do that i use ewwww image optimizer (I should mention this plugin is not supported by the theme plugin TD Speedbooster).
Now the following things i recommand only if you know what you are doing because this can completely break your website. So what i did more was minifying all the css and js files i used and combined them both seperated ofcourse into one file. Created “above the fold inline css” and Preloading the combined ccs file and loading the js file asynced at the bottom and minified the html ….. thats basicly most things u can do too speed up your website.
Thanks for answering. I use a minification plugin (fast velocity minify) with Newspaper for speed and I have seen that using the single template 17 causes Gzip compression issues while I have enabled it by default (Gtmetrix says enable gzip compression: Compressing /wp-content/uploads/fvm/out/header-dd714063-1528369985.min.css could save 907.9KiB (87% reduction), see http://prntscr.com/js1eew), which does not happen with the inbuilt theme single templates, or even other parts of the site, except single page with template 17 enabled. I tried Autoptimize and the same issue happened. I tested single template 15 and the same issue did not occur. Could you be able to help me figure out what the issue is? I found out this is what is making the page to grow three times. (The average size of my single posts with current speed optimizations is around 600kb-750kb. I have reverted to template 8 for now, but still, I want to make template 17 work).
