Hello @deetricgroup!

We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY

If you need to use the mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin.

Here you can remove/set a picture for mobile menu background: https://www.screencast.com/t/x3Xrln2b88x
And the background color here: https://www.screencast.com/t/PbU3hQpDqHh

If you’ll use the Mobile theme, then check in the theme panel -> mobile theme -> mobile menu/search background.

Thank you!

Got it, honestly I would rather stick to Mobile Theme (Plugin) because its giving me best page speed insights. I would rather chose this Mobile theme plugin over hyperlink underlines (other options). I would love it if this option is integrated into the plugin in near future.

Hello,

Usually, the element text with the title is not available for mobile theme plugins. Please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/ and choose your mobile version.
Please provide the link to your website and what you want to change.

Thank you!

Hi iustitiabg,
All you should do is use the amp plugin with the mobile theme plugin. If you want you can use the mobile theme layout only for amp – https://i.imgur.com/Rj9CObs.png
Thank you!

Hello,

I have my theme set up to auto load the next post in the same category previous.

While it is working on desktop, on mobile devices the next article won’t load:

You can see an example post here: https://smarts.co/opportunities-for-accredited-investors/

Now, when using Inspect on Chrome and switching to mobile view, it shows its working, but it’s a different story when actually using a mobile device like an iPhone.

Can you point me in the right direction to get this to work? It is affecting my time on page, usually readers like to read through to the next article and now it isn’t working correctly.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Brian

Hello @chriswp!

The tagdiv Composer plugin is a bigger one with a lot of functions and settings. Our developers tried to improve it more and more and optimize it as much as they could in every update.
There are a lot of factors which can make your site slow. Make sure you use only some templates and fewer functionalities and options.
Some factors which you need to take into account are:
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.
Internal factors: the number of elements on the page, image size, image formats, if you are using mobile optimized layouts, console errors, if you are using the Standard Pack plugin or not, if you are using the PRO demo or a standard one.
Some starting points to improve your website page speed are here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/optimize-script-to-improve-site-speed/

https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/v5/about
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnkVapqhIHc
Please check the tutorials from those platforms, GT metrix and Google Pagespeed Insights, and I’m sure you can increase the page speed.

Please note that page speed is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/

Thank you for understanding!

Hi there

I have been using your theme for many years on several projects. I am worried that the speed issues are never addressed. My site 7.dk is slower than ever on mobile. It is hosted on Kinsta – supposedly one of the best hosts out there. It uses CDN, and I have optimized the site using Imagify for the images, WP Rocket for the caching and in general I don’t have many plugins installed.

What to do? Any suggestions?

I’m using this theme: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blockchain_pro/

I got problem with this: https://prnt.sc/lpgxN8QoX2RP on mobile.

On mobile it looks this way: https://prnt.sc/jEFL52esATAJ

And it’s ok, but I need to change order of icons on the mobile version, without changing the order on the desktop site. When I change on mobile, the circle on desktop is wrong. How I can do this?

Hello,

If you have created a mobile page, then you need to edit it and customize it as you want with tagdiv Composer.
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY

Hello @ozgur!

I’m glad! Those thumbs are for the Mobile Theme: https://prnt.sc/qcsuQDXdTQEi
You can disable them and set the images again in full size(Media Library).

Thank you!

thanks for your reply.
I already use the mobile theme and the cloud template. But since the amp home page is quite poor I decided to keep the mobile home with my customizations.
And it Worked using the action you suggested in the screenshot. But no anymore.
Are there other ways to view, on smartphone, the mobile page as homepage for smartphone and the amp pages for the other contents?

Hello Renato Goldoni!

Please uninstall the mobile theme plugin, and the responsive version should be available on your mobile version.

Thank you for your feedback!

Hello @giuseppe39!

With those settings, AMP will appear only on pages and posts, excluding the homepage: https://prnt.sc/n7wSCqACNVdQ
Please keep in mind that you must use default posts and pages rather than cloud.
If you use cloud templates, then you should use AMP with the mobile theme plugin.

The AMP only works better with the Mobile Theme plugin. From my point of view, if you don’t use the Mobile Theme plugin, then there is no reason or benefit to AMP.

Thank you!

Hi Bettina,

Thank you for the info. I’ve uploaded new images from the media menu and now the theme registers & resizes for those missing two sizes. Cool!

One problem that still persists however though (for the mobile theme), is that when I check the mobile site on Page Speed Insights, the image size alt-tags are properly written as 265×198, but the image src is the 485×360 version. So I get the “properly size images” error again. Please see the screenshot: https://app.screencast.com/Q1uB6zWYvY2me

Is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks in advance!
Oz

Dears,

How are you? First o all congrats for the theme, it really match our needs!

We have a question, how can we do to make our website on desktop to be the same on mobile? We have for example a ticker showing numbers and currencies on desktop and when the site is visite on mobile is totally different and this ticker doesn´t show up.

Is there a way just to tell the system to show the same but on mobile?

Thanks!

Hello,

I read most of the posts about the Properly Resize Images on Mobile theme issue and still get the error on the google Page Speed Insights page.

Steps to reproduce:

1. I have disabled and then enabled *all* the sizes for thumbnails (and retinas) from the block settings: https://app.screencast.com/uGvyElTKwkycF

2. I cleared the caches.

3. I then regenerated all the thumbnails using the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin, BUT, apparently 265 X 198 and 741 X 486 sizes are not registered, thus not regenerated: https://app.screencast.com/atOIPpPQCsq3J

4. Anyway, I still clear the server caches just in case.

4. Since the 265 X 198 and 741 X 486 are not regenerated, Google Page Speed site give me the properly resize images error: https://app.screencast.com/jXLivMVXY0SRT

Can you please help me fix this error?

Thanks,
Ozgur
