Hi Catalin,

Thanks for your quick response. I have the theme optimized for mobile responsiveness. By activating the mobile plugin, will I be forced to restyle the mobile design or can I only use it for the mobile nav?

Thanks,
Jack

Hi,

I believe that is the case. We tried to optimize the demo website for good results. There will be overall performance improvements made in the theme in coming updates, to further optimize speed.

For general theme requirements this would be the guide for a proper functionality

There are many optimization guides provided by our users here in the forum, some made by us, you could check some of them

Hi,

I’ve inspect your mobile menu and is seems to work just fine https://www.screencast.com/t/fWt4aEddMfe ( you need to wait until the page is full load ), but you need to optimized your website.

Hi,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized.

Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
Also, check all of your Ad Spots and if you have entered any suspicious code through them, remove all of them and check the results without them.

One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/

Basically, these are the theme requirements

hello, I just bought this theme. It is amazing and easy to use, but I have been facing some real issues, which made me really unsatisfied and disappointed.

1. When I was uploading the default theme demo, it kept saying error connecting with server; however the demo was downloaded but in a weird way, as if it is broken.

A. The wide of the page is small then the demo
B. The Menu was totally broken, especially in mobile version!

Screen Shot of a Broken Newspaper Theme

thankfully, after spending 8H trying to fix this weird issue, I figure out the solution, which is this adding this custom CSS code.

#td-mobile-nav {
position:fixed;
}

The problem is why the hell, does this mobile-nav appears in desktop version? and it’s broken in mobile version.

Please I need the theme to be wider as the demo, and the menu work without this additional css.

—————————

2. Facebook counter is not working ! it is showing 0 followers!

Please fix this issue, I even uninstall and reinstall social counter from theme panel but facebook still not working.

—————————

3. The theme is far from being mobile friendly !!!! too many render blocking CSS and JS , I used TD booster but it said conflects with WP security plugin! and it is out of questions to delete this important plugin; so I used autoptimize plugin! he successfully combine CSS, but no JS are combined !!!!

Test in google test speed page, show 20% for mobile and 80% in desktop !!! huge difference !!

—————————

4. The menu in mobile is not working correctly until the whole page load !

5. when I activate TOP BAR, the mobile menu doesn’t work at all.

6. Lazy load is not working at all in mobile ! ( google test speed page ) show warning about lazy load in mobile.

—————————

I am tired, it is 02:14 A.M , I spend the past 11 Hours trying to figure out solutions! but I failed!
I need TAGDIV support !

Please help me, ^^

ps: my website is in Arabic, but that is not the reason for those issues anyway.

Hi,

I’ve check your AMP url with this validator https://validator.ampproject.org/
https://www.screencast.com/t/ZgoBHm8Li
The result look like you have some plugins install that are inserting this in the theme
https://www.screencast.com/t/K1ekeECKoxWo
I think it is a thrive-headline-optimizer wordpress plugin.
Please deactivate all plugins that are non theme, clear all cache and try again.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello,

Please notice that the TD Composer is our page builder which is continuously updated and which is powerful. I recommend you to make a new install, on the localhost for example and test our page builder product. This plugin has the entire elements from Visual Composer which are better optimized for our theme. To make this transition, read the following guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/

Hi,

We are using newspaper theme on our site.

We have following configuration for our VM:

10 gb ram, 4 Core CPU.

Our CPU usage goes 100% on specific period like 10.00 am to 11.00 am.

Mysql consuming more cpu usage around 150% to 300% on that period out of 4 CPU core.

Please help us how could we solve this issue or how we optimize mysql.

Hi,

The theme does not come with the robots.txt file by default. You should create it your own. Check more details about this case, here -> http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html -> https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-optimize-your-wordpress-robots-txt-for-seo/

Hi,

We will try to find a solution for full compatibility regarding the tagDiv composer and WPML. Sorry again for any inconvenience.

It is true that the theme does not support RTL. The design is not optimized for a RTL environment, so there will be various problems in this case.
When creating a RTL website it would be best to use a theme that has been created with this in mind, or has support for RTL. I can’t say I know how I can be of help unfortunately.

Thanks

My site has a really poor speed,
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsantavirgenmaria.com%2F

For what I see, in part, is caused because of the theme. Can you help me optimize my Newspaper theme to have a better performance.

Thank you

Again, it’s a simple hit counter; it increments each time page is loaded, it does not do anything else.

You need to use a stats/reporting product to understand ‘actual’ traffic to your site. The hit counter is only useful as general reference. And yes, if your traffic drops, it will not count as many times.

So, good to
a) check to see if you have console errors in chrome; run the audits;
b) check your search console on Google (etc) for errors/warnings
c) if your traffic is loaded over /amp you might not be tracking ‘hits’ — you would need to test that
d) note that Google may no longer show your site in SERPS if not mobile optimized and https — without https and mobile optimization via the lighthouse audit in Chrome, they may not move your site to ‘mobile first in SERPS’ and you *will* lose traffic

Hi,

Please read this guide about Summary Card with Large Image

Hope this will help you.

When I share a blog post on Twitter, it posts like this:

Notice how small the image is. I spoke with Buffer and they said my theme needs to have twitter large cards enabled:
https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/tweets/optimize-with-cards/overview/summary-card-with-large-image.html

This is a tweet from Buffer support that explains more:
Hi Ryan! When I use Twitters card validator tool I'm seeing the preview being generated like this: http://hi.buffer.com/4683aaf62581
Looking at the details Twitter are sharing in their guide to Twitter Cards, I think these parts are likely key: http://hi.buffer.com/525e8b7b1b2c -Dave

So, can I enabled large images?

Thanks
