Hi,

For pages, you cannot create templates the same way you can for categories, articles, authors, or tags. You can create a page and, if you like its layout, duplicate it and edit the copy but full template creation for pages is not supported.

Regarding the process you mentioned, both methods achieve the same result; they just come from different places in the interface. You can use either method. However, creating cloud templates directly in the Cloud Library helps you clearly see all your templates in one place and easily identify which ones are set as global.

Hi,

Yes, this can be done by setting the page template to Default. Then, edit the page with tagDiv Composer and customize it as you wish. After saving the page in tagDiv Composer, the page title will be displayed automatically as long as you don’t add a Page Title element inside the Composer.

Thank you!

For creating layouts for Homepage, is it best to Create New Page and then edit layout via Tagdiv Composer or to go to the Cloud Templates > Homepage Templates and design Homepage that way?

Same question for Single Post Layout, Categories, Author – etc.

Also. – to go along with that –

How do you set a featured image for the Homepage? Per individual Category page? For Individual Author page?

I am so lost also –
I Have a new template as the homepage for my website –
No ads are showing on the desktop when viewing my site. I view it from mobile phone and a few ads show up in multiple places. I don’t have a different template set for mobile – no ad boxes – nothing to edit. Totally lost as to why they are showing Tagdiv ads.

I dont think you understood my requirement.

On the post details page (rendered via the single post template from the cloud), I simply want to show the video link I added to the featured video field.

Pleasea advise how this can be achieved.

Hi,

Not sure why but recently I noticed my pages content can no longer be edited with the tagDiv composer’s column text > edit content button.

View post on imgur.com

It just does not show up at all inside the content, and editing the content does not appear to change anything.

It’s quite buggy I would say. I didn’t do anything else. This is purely a tagDiv forest beat template – was just editing the pages.

Previously it did show up, so not sure what happened here.

Probably want to migrate site to new hosting first using any of the modern host-provided move tools. Once moved, you’d then probably look at using something like the newsmag theme. You will need to install the new theme, disable existing plugins, back up working site on new server including server dbase, then activate new theme, then activate new copy of td-composer included with newsmag, then you will need to go in and change settings to preferred default templates for posts, archives; then make a new home page layout using the theme builder.

Using the pre-built page as a template & need to change photo on About Us page. How do I do it?

Calin

Hi,
What cna be done is to set the title length smaller – https://i.imgur.com/IbUdvjW.png or another solution will be to add an extra class on blocks you want to apply a custom css to overflow the title: https://i.imgur.com/DOlMaKS.png
.my-cls .td_module_wrap .entry-title {
overflow: hidden;
height: 25px;
}

The css can be set globally in the theme panel under custom code, custom css, or only in that page/template inside a raw css element.
I hope thsi will help you!

Hi,
Most of the time, the problem is from a shortcode that is not compatible with our theme or a plugin conflict; therefore, after you set it with tagDiv Composer and save the page/cloud template, the next time you try to edit it, you’ll get that error.
If is only for one page or a cloud template (it can be on the header or footer, you can change them for tests and see if the problem persists), this is from some settings/shortcodes set on it and it can be fixed using the page revision https://wordpress.com/support/page-post-revisions/

Thank you!

Hello all.

I have a strange problem and I can’t find a solution. Tried everything!

I have already built my website with the newspaper theme and I have used cloud templates for header and footer. As a last step I add the polylang plugin to create a second language (Main Greek secondary English). I ‘ve used this in the past many times without a problem but right now I have a strange conflict.

When I add my second language (english) and I create the pages, everything at this step works fine. But when I add a new menu and trying to check it as an English header menu, the checkbox unchecked automatically (screenshot 1). As a result, there is no way to add an english menu and even in the english pages, the greek menu appears always.

Screenshot

I’ve contact Polylang support already and they told me it’s a theme conflict.

Any help or any ideas please?

Hi,

VERY IMPORTANT! If you have install a pre-built website with content. The pre-built website content added by the pre-built website install (pages, articles, categories, theme panel settings …) will get removed when uninstalling the theme or switching pre-built websites. If you want to keep the content as your own, please create a copy of the page and use the copy as your content. In case you want to install a PRO demo, what you can do is to get the cloud template and sample pages for that demo from the cloud (without installing a new pre-built website) -https://i.imgur.com/JTmrIeu.png
Also, you can use a staging area where you can make those tests so the main website will not be affected.

Thank you!

Hello team,
I hope you are doing well.

I am using the Newspaper theme for my news website, and I really need some assistance. I am not very technical, so I’m worried about breaking something on my site.

Recently, I found a theme/template inside tagDiv Cloud that I really liked and want to apply. But before I do that, I am scared that I might:

Lose my existing posts, pages, categories, or design settings

Misplace my logo

Mess up the homepage layout

Break the mobile/desktop structure

Or accidentally overwrite something important

I genuinely do not have much experience with WordPress or theme editing, so I kindly request help from someone in the team or any senior member who can guide me step-by-step.

What exactly I need help with:

Safely applying the new theme/template without losing any existing data.

Keeping all my categories intact and mapped correctly.

Adding my logo in the correct place matching the new design.

Making sure my homepage looks clean and matches the template I am selecting.

Any recommended settings to avoid layout issues.

If needed, I can share screenshots or temporary access (after instructions) so the process is done safely.

I will be extremely grateful if someone from the tagDiv team or an experienced community member can help me, as I’ve been struggling with this for a long time and really want to improve my website and please help me as I honestly have no technical knowledge

Thank you so much in advance!

A step-by-step explanation would be helpful. Saying something should “look like in my screenshot” without first explaining what should look like your screenshot is not helpful.
First, I click on the Column title and see the title text is <span id=”td-animated-element”></span> marketing<br>generates results

What do I click next to change the span id? If it is the raw html, where do I place it?

So much of this has become needlessly complex. I would have thought the purpose of providing templates was to simplify the process of creating pages/posts/content.

Hello,

1. Please edit the cloud category template and select the first block, then look in the filter tab and set the filter on the current category. Also, check the second block, the posts loop, and in general, look for offset, make sure that the number of articles is set above, so those will not repeat – https://i.imgur.com/HQp7gF8.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/Qqia5ii.png

2. Are you referring to the fact that the articles are repeated? If so, then there are 2 options:
– use the unique article option.
– edit the page using tagDiv Composer and on each block set a category filter.

Thank you!

Hi,
In case you are not using the mobile theme plugin, then there are two other 2 situations.
Unfortunately, i can not see the image because the Cloudflare is down – https://i.imgur.com/DnPm99f.png
– in case you are using a mobile page /template https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
– in case you are using the option to disable the desktop zone on mobile and the mobile zone on desktop – https://i.imgur.com/TT2slI3.png https://i.imgur.com/jWPKhXS.png
In the above scenarios, there is a need to use a cache that can create and provide a cache per device (mobile and desktop cache), most of the cache plugins have this option.
Thank you!

Hello, I’m trying to recreate the pop-up model used in the header of the Center Magazine demo, but I can’t find where its template is located. Would it be possible for you to share the code used on that page? I haven’t been able to find the ready-made version anywhere.

Hi Claudio Souza, how are you?

I believe you are referring to this section – https://i.imgur.com/jhItDSn.png right? I se that there the elements are one under the other and normally should be one beside other. Unfortunately, only changing the page, I do not know exactly what settings are there. If you can contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide temporary WP-Admin access, we’ll check it and adjust the layout to be displayed nicely.

The child theme is provided with the theme in the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ but can you please let me know for what you’ll like to use it? I’m asking because the pre-built website you have installed can be entirely edited in front-end with tagDiv Composer and is using cloud templates, which can be edited using the builder, without needing to touch the code.

Thank you!

Hello tagDiv Support Team,

I need to restrict access to Cloud Templates for users with the Editor role on my Newspaper theme website. Currently, editors can still see and edit Cloud Templates in the backend, which I need to prevent.

What I’ve tried:
– Installed “User Role Editor” plugin and adjusted capabilities
– Added custom code to functions.php to remove menu items and capabilities
– None of these solutions have successfully hidden or blocked access to Cloud Templates

What I need:
– Only Administrators should be able to access, view, and edit Cloud Templates
– Editors should be completely blocked from accessing Cloud Templates (both in the admin menu and via direct URL access)
– Editors should still be able to create and edit regular posts and pages

Questions:
1. Is there a built-in setting in Newspaper theme to restrict Cloud Templates access by user role?
2. What is the correct capability or hook to use to prevent editors from accessing the Cloud Templates custom post type (tdb_templates)?
3. Can you provide the recommended code solution to implement this restriction?

Theme Details:
– Theme: Newspaper
– Plugins: tagDiv Composer, tagDiv Cloud Library (both active)
– WordPress Version: 6.8.3
– Theme Version: 12.7.3

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards

Hi,
For this you need to edit the page/template using tagDiv Composer and select the row, and mobile viewport, then in the layout tab select the reverse column and layout one under other – https://i.imgur.com/Nm9Dj4u.png

Hi,

Most of the time, this issue is caused by a shortcode that isn’t compatible with our theme or by a plugin conflict. As a result, after you configure the page or cloud template with tagDiv Composer and save it, you may encounter this error the next time you try to edit it.

If the problem occurs on only one page or cloud template (including header or footer templates), it’s likely due to specific settings or shortcodes used there. You can test this by temporarily switching the header or footer to see if the issue persists. In many cases, the problem can be resolved by restoring a previous version of the page using the revision feature: https://wordpress.com/support/page-post-revisions/

Thank you!
