Hi,

I want to change my theme demo to Newspaper Fashion but I cannot find this theme demo on ‘install demo’ page. Please update the same.

My Predesigned Icloud Templates are also not uploading. when I try to add new it says – Invalid reply from server endpoint.

Hi,

That is a valid URL, although only if directly accessed like that will that page be reached. Once the pagination is used the URL will change accordingly.
That would not be considered duplicate content so there is no problem if you use the latest articles page template.

Thanks

Basically, when you change themes, or do a major update to WP and to caching plugins, etc., Google might be loading your sitemap or following a link, or your sitemap might actually stop working due to plugin, etc., and briefly Google is following links to whatever it can load via the regex/rewrite rules from WP in the htaccess file, and this can cause Google to try to load the /site/wp-content/themes/theme/index.php file which it should really never do. I’ve poked the WP folks numerous times the past decade to consider changing that to default.php vs index.php as it’s NOT actually an index for that directory, and should never be loaded by anybody.

Technically, one solution — for those who have the time and patience — is to go into the folder, and rename the index.php file as a copy to all the missing ‘default’ templates that WP would normally fall back on, so that WP has no need for ever using that file; then inside the index.php file put a redirect to http://yoursite.ooo — or simply remove the file entirely.

Also keep in mind getting a server error for that URL is actually correct — it’s an internal file and should never be loaded anyway; so Google is just letting you know that it temporarily got directed there during a crawl of your sitemap while the system was updating and it couldn’t go anyplace else and generated an error.

If you get one of these errors once in a while, no biggie; mark fixed and get on with your life. If you are getting them daily, you have a serious issue with your permalinks and configuration. If you see the errors in your domain/hosting error log, it may be people trying to hack the site and you can block those IPs from ever visiting your site again.

Upshot – nobody should be trying to access files directly in that folder, nor should Google, so a 500 error is just that; it’s just like getting a 404 error when you remove a page — it doesn’t hurt anything, or ruin your rankings, or anything else. That page is not part of your site, and not part of your navigation or site links or content.

It’s really a minor flaw in WP using ‘index.php’ for something that should be ‘default.php’ as default template when no other template exists. If there were no index.php file there, you’d get a 404 instead.

Not sure that helps; but I’ve posted about this topic several times the past 4+ years on here (I don’t work here, just a webdev dinosaur). 🙂

No. Just type ‘breadcrumbs’ on the search bar of the td composer on a page (click add new element and type in the search box) and you shall see it. Though it seems to work with the category templates from the cloud plugin.

Hi. This is a feature request for the tagdiv category cloud templates. Is it possible to split the heading, date, author, comments meta from the excerpt? Maybe like how in some default blocks you can show the title and the other meta at the top of the image and the excerpt below the image? I was thinking of doing that (having title, date and comments at the top, but excerpt below the image for some category templates) but found it impossible coz the excerpt is also going above the image. Thanks.

Also, a homepage element with numbered pagination like the category templates would be a lifesaver. I would vouch for it in a future update.

Look under Newspaper>includes>demos>construction>pages>homepaage.txt and copy the code inside the file to a new page. You can then try to look at which code represents that section and copy it out of the rest of the code. Guss it should be this code (edit it with td composer)

[vc_row tdc_css="eyJhbGwiOnsiZGlzcGxheSI6IiJ9fQ==" el_class="td-our-services"][vc_column][td_block_title custom_title=”WHAT WE DO” block_template_id=”td_block_template_13″ big_title_text=”OUR SERVICES” tdc_css=”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″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width="stretch_row_1600 td-stretch-content" gap="10" tdc_css="eyJsYW5kc2NhcGUiOnsibWFyZ2luLXJpZ2h0IjoiLTI0IiwibWFyZ2luLWxlZnQiOiItMjQiLCJkaXNwbGF5IjoiIn0sImxhbmRzY2FwZV9tYXhfd2lkdGgiOjExNDAsImxhbmRzY2FwZV9taW5fd2lkdGgiOjEwMTksInBvcnRyYWl0Ijp7Im1hcmdpbi1yaWdodCI6Ii0xIiwibWFyZ2luLWxlZnQiOiItMSIsImRpc3BsYXkiOiIifSwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMDE4LCJwb3J0cmFpdF9taW5fd2lkdGgiOjc2OH0="][vc_column width="1/3" tdc_css="eyJsYW5kc2NhcGUiOnsicGFkZGluZy1yaWdodCI6IjIiLCJwYWRkaW5nLWxlZnQiOiIyIiwiZGlzcGxheSI6IiJ9LCJsYW5kc2NhcGVfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMTQwLCJsYW5kc2NhcGVfbWluX3dpZHRoIjoxMDE5LCJwb3J0cmFpdCI6eyJwYWRkaW5nLXJpZ2h0IjoiMSIsInBhZGRpbmctbGVmdCI6IjEiLCJkaXNwbGF5IjoiIn0sInBvcnRyYWl0X21heF93aWR0aCI6MTAxOCwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWluX3dpZHRoIjo3Njh9"][tdm_block_image_info_box box_style=”style-2″ box_image=”iii_home-architecture_iii” box_title=”Architecture” box_description=”V2hlbiUyMHlvdSUyMGVudHJ1c3QlMjB5b3VyJTIwdmlzaW9uJTIwd2l0aCUyMHRoZSUyMGV4cGVydCUyMGRlc2lnbmVycyUyMGFuZCUyMGNyYWZ0c21hbiUyMGF0JTIwU3BlY2lhbHR5JTIwQnVpbGRpbmclMjBTZXJ2aWNlcy4=” tds_button=”tds_button3″ button_size=”tdm-btn-md” button_icon_size=”18″ button_tdicon=”tdc-font-fa tdc-font-fa-graduation-cap” image_height=”763″ image_width=”1200″ box_overlay=”rgba(0,0,0,0.6)” button_text=”MORE DETAILS” box_height=”360″ tdc_css=”eyJwb3J0cmFpdCI6eyJtYXJnaW4tYm90dG9tIjoiMCIsImRpc3BsYXkiOiIifSwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMDE4LCJwb3J0cmFpdF9taW5fd2lkdGgiOjc2OCwicGhvbmUiOnsibWFyZ2luLWJvdHRvbSI6IjIiLCJjb250ZW50LWgtYWxpZ24iOiJjb250ZW50LWhvcml6LWNlbnRlciIsImRpc3BsYXkiOiIifSwicGhvbmVfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjo3Njd9″][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3" tdc_css="eyJsYW5kc2NhcGUiOnsicGFkZGluZy1yaWdodCI6IjIiLCJwYWRkaW5nLWxlZnQiOiIyIiwiZGlzcGxheSI6IiJ9LCJsYW5kc2NhcGVfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMTQwLCJsYW5kc2NhcGVfbWluX3dpZHRoIjoxMDE5LCJwb3J0cmFpdCI6eyJwYWRkaW5nLXJpZ2h0IjoiMSIsInBhZGRpbmctbGVmdCI6IjEiLCJkaXNwbGF5IjoiIn0sInBvcnRyYWl0X21heF93aWR0aCI6MTAxOCwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWluX3dpZHRoIjo3Njh9"][tdm_block_image_info_box box_style=”style-2″ box_image=”iii_interior2_iii” box_title=”Interior Design” box_description=”SW50ZXJpb3IlMjBkZXNpZ24lMjAlMjYlMjBmdXJuaXR1cmUlMjBwcm9qZWN0cyUyMGZvciUyMHJlYWwlMjBlc3RhdGUlMjBkZXZlbG9wZXJzJTIwYW5kJTIwZm9yJTIwb3duZXJzJTIwb2YlMjBhcGFydG1lbnRzJTJGaG91c2VzLg==” tds_button=”tds_button3″ button_size=”tdm-btn-md” button_icon_size=”18″ button_tdicon=”tdc-font-fa tdc-font-fa-graduation-cap” image_height=”667″ image_width=”1000″ box_overlay=”rgba(0,0,0,0.6)” box_height=”360″ button_text=”READ MORE” tdc_css=”eyJwb3J0cmFpdCI6eyJtYXJnaW4tYm90dG9tIjoiMCIsImRpc3BsYXkiOiIifSwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMDE4LCJwb3J0cmFpdF9taW5fd2lkdGgiOjc2OCwicGhvbmUiOnsibWFyZ2luLWJvdHRvbSI6IjIiLCJjb250ZW50LWgtYWxpZ24iOiJjb250ZW50LWhvcml6LWNlbnRlciIsImRpc3BsYXkiOiIifSwicGhvbmVfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjo3Njd9″][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3" tdc_css="eyJsYW5kc2NhcGUiOnsicGFkZGluZy1yaWdodCI6IjIiLCJwYWRkaW5nLWxlZnQiOiIyIiwiZGlzcGxheSI6IiJ9LCJsYW5kc2NhcGVfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMTQwLCJsYW5kc2NhcGVfbWluX3dpZHRoIjoxMDE5LCJwb3J0cmFpdCI6eyJwYWRkaW5nLXJpZ2h0IjoiMSIsInBhZGRpbmctbGVmdCI6IjEiLCJkaXNwbGF5IjoiIn0sInBvcnRyYWl0X21heF93aWR0aCI6MTAxOCwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWluX3dpZHRoIjo3Njh9"][tdm_block_image_info_box box_style=”style-2″ box_image=”iii_home-garden_iii” box_description=”Q3JlYXRlJTIwdGhlJTIwcGVyZmVjdCUyMGZyb250JTIweWFyZCUyMGFuZCUyMGJhY2t5YXJkJTIwbGFuZHNjYXBlcyUyMHdpdGglMjBvdXIlMjBnYXJkZW5pbmclMjB0aXBzLg==” tds_button=”tds_button3″ button_size=”tdm-btn-md” button_icon_size=”18″ button_tdicon=”tdc-font-fa tdc-font-fa-graduation-cap” box_title=”Gardening” image_height=”684″ image_width=”1000″ box_overlay=”rgba(0,0,0,0.6)” box_height=”360″ button_text=”VIEW SOLUTIONS” tdc_css=”eyJwb3J0cmFpdCI6eyJtYXJnaW4tYm90dG9tIjoiMCIsImRpc3BsYXkiOiIifSwicG9ydHJhaXRfbWF4X3dpZHRoIjoxMDE4LCJwb3J0cmFpdF9taW5fd2lkdGgiOjc2OCwicGhvbmUiOnsiY29udGVudC1oLWFsaWduIjoiY29udGVudC1ob3Jpei1jZW50ZXIiLCJkaXNwbGF5IjoiIn0sInBob25lX21heF93aWR0aCI6NzY3fQ==”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Search where this code begins and ends in that file and copy from there. Don’t copy this one.

Hi Everyone,

currently I’m facing an issue in removing widgets from footer. First please check the screenshot below.
FOOTER TEMPLATE Style 1

The three column footer area are i think FOOTER 1(EDITOR PICKS), FOOTER 2(POPULAR POSTS), FOOTER 3(POPULAR CATEGORY).
In my widget menu there’s no widget are placed in the footer 1,footer 2, only the Paypal button is placed under footer 3.
For testing I dragged POPULAR CATEGORY widget under FOOTER 3, but then in homepage it’s becoming two different widget (previous+new this set) .

So, please guide me how to remove these 3 sections . For checking purpose: My Blog

Hi there,

I am wondering if it is possible to have a full width image as background in de header of a page in Newspaper 8.8 and if so where to set this? Tried about anything I could think off in template settings.

Thanks for reading my post!

Hi,
i’d like to use category template 8 but I want to have the Category Image as a simple background of td-category-header, and i don’t want to use it as a background for the whole page.
I tried building a category-template like that with Cloud Templates. But I don’t want to manually build one for every category I have.
Is there any way I can use the ‘normal’ category template 8 and adjust it with custom css or something like that or a way I can build a cloud Template without using specific filters, because I want all my categories to look the same and the only change that would have to be made is to set the filter to current category)?

Wordpress version: v. 4.9.6
Newsmag version: v 4.4
WPML version: v 4.0.3
My site: http://astro.najar.ca

I’m having a hard time working with translations. I bought WPML by recommendation of yours. It is a great pluging thou.
But I’m having trouble with some parts of newsmag.

1) First of all, the default widgets in the sidebar. I wanted to translate the default widgets per language. Down below in each widget I see a combo that let me to select the language I want the widget appear in. I click “save” and the value always return and stays in “All languages”.

The problem is in deed the widgets ( [tagdiv block 9] & [tagdiv] popular category ). For example, the RSS Widget works just fine.

2) I got the idea of making one sidebar per language and assign it to each translation of the main page (SiderBar English, SidebarFrancais, SidebarEspanol) . So I did that and that worked *** only for the main page***. I realized that I had to assign a sidebar to the blog and post template and for other sections too in the “theme panel” config section.
But the problem is that the settings in Newsmag Theme Panel aren’t localized per language, so, if I select the “SideBarEnglish”, it will appear for the other languages too.

Thank you for your help

Hello,

Indeed it can be done in the new tagdiv cloud library plugin. You can import a category template and edit it in the tagdiv composer adding elements as you would on a standard page. Then you can save and apply the template created to your category in the theme panel

Thank you!

Hi,

is it possible to add custom text to the categorie pages? I want to add unique tex to my categorie pages, not just displaying the blog posts from that categorie. Can I do this ad if so, then how?

Bogdan B.

Hello,

Sorry but there is no simple way of removing the category pages in the breadcrumbs. There are 2 ways you can go about this.
1. is to redirect the link from the category to the page you created using a 301 redirect: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-creating-redirects-in-wordpress/

2. You can now use the cloud library plugin to edit category templates directly in the tagdiv composer and then set that template for your category.

Than you!

Bogdan B.
tagDiv Staff

Hello,

1. You can do this now in the new cloud template. You can edit a template from the cloud library to the design you want and then save that template. You will then have the possibility to import it on new pages.

2. You can delete any page you do not need from the wp pages section.

3. Please use this guide to properly update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Thank you!

Dear, there is a bug that stretched the sidebars in the woocommerce page to full width. I have disabled the side bar in woocommerce template, but yet it shows in full width in woocommerce page. I have tried deleting and recreating the woocommerce pages, but nothing is working in this way. This has done multiple times before. The only solution that works for me is to re-update the theme and that’s all. Last night, I have re-update the theme and this works for me. I am sure this is some kind of bug. I will share you the pictures of the problem I am facing soon. Please be patient.

Look at this thread. I have face the same problem before and the problem gone only after re-update the theme.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/why-is-this-happening-2/

Your colleague Simion C takes a deep look at that problem and don’t provide any solution except to update the theme.

The problem is that I cannot re-update the theme at regular intervals. So, please provide me the official support to sort out this problem.

Hey,

I’m using a flebox twice on the same page – one for multiple articles and one for a single headlining article.

Is there a way I can edit the css of one of the two without affecting the other? Maybe if it’s a little tricky… setting a custom class somewhere, or creating a new flexbox template?

angelgallegos
tagDiv Member

Hello Simion,

I think the problem is because ‘Author Box’ selects the avatar looking trough ‘user email’ variable, and we are using same email for contributors.

In ‘page-author-box.php’ I found this:

<?php echo get_wp_user_avatar($part_cur_auth_obj->user_email, '96'); ?>

And we changed for this:

<?php echo get_wp_user_avatar($part_cur_auth_obj->user_id, '96'); ?>

So I imagine we can do the same for ‘Author Box’, but I don’t know where is that block template.

Thanks.

Hey Laura,

For the first request, notice that demo uses as page templatepage builder + latest pagination + latest articles. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
This demo has own layout create by default from our team. So, if you want to have the exact theme layout, you should install that demo. For more information about social counter styles, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/social-counter-styles-on-newspaper/

Thanks for the message!

Hi, when I click on theme panel tabs (footer, template settings, ads, etc) it just scrolls the page to the top, none of them open at all.
Also when clicking on Save changes on the popup boxes settings nothing happen. This is from the last update.
I reinstalled the theme’s latest version a while ago but the problem remains.

Do you know what could be happening and how can I fix it?
Thank you

Hi,

No you cannot, you can set a template for all the tag pages in general. This would be the same for author pages and archive pages for example. At the moment these can only be set in general, but this may change in the future, the plugin is in beta stage.

Thanks

Hello emmalabbe,

The theme does not have any such an option in the panel that allows you to change the big grid category filter. Another alternative would be to create a category template from Cloud Library because using this way you can customize your category page using the TD Composer. There you can add any Big Grid you want at the top of your page and filter it after the available options, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/A4bxPUEtBylL You should read ur documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/ regarding on TD Cloud Library option.

Thanks for your understanding!

Simion C.

Hi,

The archive page will display posts according to the date chosen, if available/ For example
https://andreian.com/2018/03/25/
There is a default archive template, which can be customized in the theme panel only
https://www.screencast.com/t/5gjL8VjBDu

Since theme version 8.8 you can now import predefined templates including for archive pages, or import a blank archive template and use your desired elements in it
https://www.screencast.com/t/3qfJ5b74W

I don’t exactly now what exactly you want to do with these archive pages and templates in relation to the header menu. Some more details would be helpful.

Thanks

Hello squallhajime,

Unfortunately, there is no other option than the one presented above, regarding on post pages, sorry! All the settings for creating post templates using our page builder can be found here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/

Thanks for the message!

I believe I’ve done exactly what you’ve outlined. Here’s the link to a page with a list: http://mountainjourney.com/test/. I’m using Post Template Style 5 and Smart List Style 1. The Smart Lists forms properly, except that the description does not show on any of the lists. This is true for every smart list style.

Thanks.

Hello,
I am using the next prev ajax pagination to display 6 posts in a block 5 element. It works fine when using “page builder + blank template” page settings. When I set the page back to default template (displays header and footer), I loose functionality. The button selection next or prev refreshes the page keeping the same 6 posts. None of the pagination options will work.
