Hi,

Plugin conflicts are the number one reason for disappearing images. I have checked your site but only the posts that do not have featured images showed the placeholder. The rest of the images display properly: http://screencast.com/t/Gg50eleR
If you still have trouble with images try to disable all plugins except visual composer clear cache and reset cdn files.

Thank you!

Hi, thank you. Yes true that the ad/banner should appear after feature image if i opt to put code in “article top ad” placeholder but the challenge is that i have turned off the feature image to appear in post and i put the same image manually to be placed before the text start. In this case, if i put the ad code in “article top ad” it always appear before the first image (or after the title of the post) as it can be seen in the following image;
Ad after title but before first image

I think i will need to put short_code custom ad. Where i should put the shortcode in oop-single-2.php file?

Hi, i need to disable 80×60 px search box images that appear (through ajax may be) when i enter any search term before hitting the enter button. When i disable them from Block Settings >> Thumbs on Modules/Blocks, the placeholders for the images still appear which look bad. How i can completely remove them or disable the ajax loading option.

Just as another follow-up, It seems that the issue might be arising from when I upload the images to WordPress. Most of the time after the image upload reaches 100%, that’s all it does, and the image is put into my media library, but even in the library, no thumb shows up. Just the default placeholder. However when I use the image in a post or as one of the larger thumbnails, it works fine, but it won’t show up as a small thumbnail.

The images that do seem to work at all thumbnail sizes are the ones that successfully “crunch” after the image upload. These images have thumbnails visible in the media library and at all other sizes around the site. The problem is that this doesn’t happen most of the time. Most of the time the crunching step is skipped or does not initiate. This seems like a WordPress problem and not a tagDiv problem, but I just thought I’d follow up.

Hello,

There are clearly problems on your site. The first would be the page speed that is very very slow. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. This should fix most of your issues.
Next, please regenerate thumbs using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
As for the articles with no images, there is a placeholder for the case where the post has no featured image. Please add featured images to your posts using the default theme featured image implementation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/

Thank you!

Hello iisnet,

After further investigation, it seems to be a mini issue with the separator with the title if your title is too big. I have tested on my side, and it occurs this behavior. As a quick solution, you will have to try the following code and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

@media(max-width:767px){
.vc_sep_width_100, .wpb_single_image img.vc_img-placeholder {
width: 90%;
}
}

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hello,

I have checked your site and the posts that do not show images do not have an image to show. You need a featured image or video for the image to show up on the blocks. Please use this guide and add propewr featured images or featured videos to your posts: https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
Alternatively, please enable the placeholders so if there is no image, there will be a placeholder for the block:
http://screencast.com/t/2Y2MBFWn80 ALso make sure your thumbnails are active:
http://screencast.com/t/RWrJene0

Hello,

For the logo please check the documentation as there is a logo section you can consult: https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
As for the images, you can replace the default placeholder images here: http://screencast.com/t/ZFYxku1ggNs
You will have to keep their name and thumb size though otherwise they will not work.

Thank you!

Hey,

I’m experiencing a strange issue on my website (www.vipinramdas.com) when accessing it through a mobile device. I have the tagdiv Mobile theme enabled. When this is active,the homepage does not show any thumbs, instead it shows the placeholder which says “Enable thumb from Theme Panel”. All the thumbs are enabled on my theme. The images show fine when I try to read a post in post view.

When I turn off the tagdiv mobile theme, the thumbnails show up fine in the normal responsive mode of the theme.

I have placed an image in a post, and everything looks fine in the backend.
However the image isn’t loading in the frontend….all I can see is the placeholder (white space)?

What am I missing to do?

Thanks 🙂

I can’t find this…..td_video_support.php…..file

I have tried to check it in this….Stylesheet (style.css) which came with newsmag, but the only place they are talking about a video is this line…

embed
*/
embed {
width: 100%;
}
.videopress-placeholder {
width: 100% !important;
}
.videopress-poster {
height: auto !important;
width: 100% !important;
}
.video-player {
width: 100% !important;
}

…..

Again, there is a line that has mentioned youtube…

It says…..}
.td-icon-youtube:before {
content: ‘\e836’;
}

GOING BY Newsmag: td_config.php (includes/td_config.php)
file, There is a mention of ;featured video. But I couldn’t see the line which I have to edit.

……..
td_global::$td_wp_admin_text_list = array(

// the text for wp-admin -> new post -> featured video box. Usually is the text that tells what post templates support video
‘text_featured_video’ => ‘
<div class=”td-wpa-info”>Paste a link from Vimeo or Youtube, it will be embedded in the post and the thumb used as the featured image of this post. <br/>You need to choose Video Format from above to use Featured Video.</div>
<div class=”td-wpa-info”>Notice: Use only with those post templates:

  • Post style default
  • Post style 1
  • Post style 2
  • Post style 3
  • Post style 8

</div>’,

// admin panel – header
‘text_header_logo’ => ‘Text logo for header Style 10:’,

IF I HAVE TO DO IT MYSELF, I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH PLAYING AROUND WITH THOSE CODES. IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN ASSIST ME? OR WILL YOU GUIDE ME?

Hello,

The featured image placeholder is an image that is only used on modules and blocks unfortunately. Not on posts themselves. If you do not use any featured image, we suggest using a post style that does not need the featured image for it;s layout. please do not use styles: 3, 4, 6, 7 or 8

Thank you!

Hi Bogdan, one question:

For my courses I am running a custom post type using the TEMPLATE STYLE 7. I am not using a featured image because this was causing me side effects.

I was expecting that with this “Featured image placeholder” I would have a default featured image, but I’ve applied it and I am still not getting a featured image in my TEMPLATE STYLE 7 course posts.

This is what I am getting:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.projectmanagers.org/docs/Default-Featured-Image.jpg

Should this “Featured image placeholder” work as a default featured image or it is only for thumbnails?

All the best,
Angel

Hello,
The featured image placeholders can be found here: http://screencast.com/t/zcXcpBNBKI5j You can edit these images or replace them with other ones but you need to keep the image size and name intact. Otherwise it will not position properly.
Thank you!

Hi, I’ve seen the “Featured image placeholder” option inside the Newspaper Theme panel > Post Settings > Featured Images.

I’ve got this option enabled and I have posts without images, but they are not showing any default image.

I did not found out how to make this work looking at:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/

How can I make work the “Featured image placeholder” option?

Hello, Catalin,

I mean DIFFERENT placeholder images in the ONE block/module. I have a lot of posts without featured image so it would be great if placeholders (of the same size) appear by random or cycle way. Probably I should have the library of same size placeholders and Newspaper selects one of them automatically and random or by tag/category.

Catalin

Hello mrx,

Please notice that the placeholder is just one but you have seen more of these because our theme uses a lot of thumbs dimensions and that’s why if you want to change the placeholder image and you will have to do it using all these sizes. Depending on what type of Blocks/modules you are using, you can set what type of placeholder image to change. As you can see, your desired images for placeholder should be replaced here -> http://screencast.com/t/4HXJfczwk and here -> you will see all the sizes for our images which are used according to what blocks/modules is used by you -> http://screencast.com/t/dGkStpiXS

Thanks for your understanding!

Dear Catalin,

thank you very much, your solution is pretty well.

Can I ask you explain how to force placeholder image be random? I mean different placeholders in different posts.

Catalin
tagDiv Staff

Hello mrx,

You can try to use a bit of CSS to align the post title which has not featured image set. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

.td_block_related_posts .td_module_no_thumb {
margin-top:50px;
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/tt6FMz1o

Or another alternative for you, which we recommend you, would be to activate the placeholder from your Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/wYg94QHfCijM and then, each post which does not have a featured image will display the default image for this case, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/4HXJfczwk

Hope this helps!

Thanks.

Hi,
Our theme needs featured images to have thumbnails to show on the homepage and on modules and blocks. Right now you have no featured images set, that is why you can only see the placeholder. https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
Thank you!

Hello Catalin,

Thanks for your reply.

1. By default,in the search result page, side bar displays advertisement and latest articles. I do not want Ads to be displayed in this page’s side bar. I want to customize this. In the Theme Panel->Template settings-> Search Template, there is an option to create a new side bar. Once I give a name and click the “Create” button. It shows the name in the drop down. But how do I add elements to the newly created sidebar? For example, how do I add a “Simple image” element to the side bar?

2. In the “ARTICLE DISPLAY VIEW” I prefer to use M16, but I DO NOT want the response count to be displayed with each result. Is it also possible to display results with M16 style but without the image for each post as there may not be images added to posts?

When I disable “FEATURED IMAGE PLACEHOLDER” in Post Settings, even though none of the posts results have a featured image and image place holder not displayed, the post titles are shifted to the right leaving empty space to the left of the post titles.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,
If you want images to show on the homepage, the posts need to have a featured image set here: http://screencast.com/t/2XpvfUkQyx If you do not have any featured images the theme modules and blocks will have nothing to show, only a placeholder.
Thank you!

Bogdan B.

Hi,
Are you sure you have a featured image set to the post? As i can see the placeholder. If there is an image, please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files to see if there is no plugin affecting the featured image.
Thank you!

Hello Aang359,

Please notice that the Block 21 uses the module 16 and for this type of feature do not exist any option in Theme panel because it will use the default thumbnail from WordPress (default 150*150px) -> http://screencast.com/t/hiO726xl So, if you want when you have not featured image to hide that placeholder, you have option for it in Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/EwtvDZ1T3j4p and then the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/I6LVD53m0 That white space will remain because it is part of Block 21 and you cannot damage the layout for this module because then you will not get good results.
As you can see, that type of pagination is available only for posts and latest articles modules and not for Blocks. For more information about Blocks settings, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
The role of the thumb is to crop the image to the certain dimensions -> for more information about thumbnails and featured images, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
Unfortunately the related articles will show items from one of the categories the post has. Unfortunately you cannot filter these posts so if there is no featured image, it;s best to chose a predefined one or replace the placeholder. Replacing the place-holder image is a common technique. You can create a custom placeholder and replace these images: http://screencast.com/t/rcWD9Gh5ywc
You need to keep the names of the files and the dimensions though.
Thank you!
