Hi, I updated from version 4 to version 6 on sunday and everything was working on until today, all the images are not loading and just the default placeholder images (which I changed the design) appears all over the site.

With Newspaper 4 the featured images filled the placeholders in sliders and big slider gracefully , yet with the newest version – they look horrible . I look at the demo and there they work . Any idea of how to fix that ?

Thank you for your support, Chris. I have no doubt that this is the grat plugin, but despite all, I decided manually to remove all links and use Image placeholder from Tagdiv. I prefere the simplest solutions.

I have a specific problem. All images hosted on my server is accidentally deleted and now I have thousand article with broken (featured) link images. I have tried Image placeholder option as you mentioned above, but in vain. Only if I manually delete featured images, image placeholder is shown.
What to do? :/
I am using a child theme for Newspaper and am trying to modify the no-thumb images (/images/no-thumb/) but for some reason it keeps calling the images from the main theme and not the child theme. Do you know what needs to be included in my child theme to ensure it pulls the images from my child theme?

The search page by default it’s set to use the search module – td_module_search.php – http://screencast.com/t/lSc3dbRLw
This module displays the featured image for each post, if something else is returned it displays the default placeholder image. To make it display avatars for authors it requires modification on the code and it’s not an easy task. If you don’t have programming experience my advice is to hire a professional developer to modify it for you. I’ve added this on our list but for the moment it’s not a priority, sorry, we have over 200 features on the list and we have to chose carefully which one get’s implemented next.

Yes, I’ve noticed the placeholder. But what I meant is a way of having a default featured image or generic image that we can upload and used as fallback when a featured image doesn’t exist on the post or when you don’t have one to upload.
Example: breaking news with no image yet, but a general “breaking news” image 🙂

I have a problem with the image placeholders. They are not showing anymore since 1.5. I investigated and on line 137 of td_module.php there is the following:
$featured_image_placeholder = td_util::get_option('tds_featured_image_placeholder');
The tds_featured_image_placeholder option is nowhere to be found in the Theme panel. Where can I set this to the value “show_placeholder” without manually editing the options in the database?
The only placeholder options saved in my db are:
tds_show_featured_image = hide
tds_hide_featured_image_placeholder = null
tds_featured_image_view_setting = null.
Smells like a bug???
