Hey y’all,
I’m trying to get the Tagdiv Composer in the Newspaper theme to work on a new WordPress 5.5 site (hosted through GoDaddy), but I keep getting the error “ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE”
I’ve followed every step on this page (and the Newspaper Theme requirements page): When tagDiv Composer is not working

But no dice. Is this a problem other folks are having, or is there another webpage you could point me to?

Hi,
If you are using WordPress v5.5, you must use the last version of Newspaper theme too, only this will work on this version of WordPress.
Also if you already have Newspaper 10.3.6.1 and you have this problem, then try the below steps:
1. Disable tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/uzBdRB9.png
2. delete tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/xGGfYE7.png
3. Reinstall tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/Ay0zJHn.png or -> https://i.imgur.com/ZMgV9at.png
4. Clear all cache from your website, host and browser ( for browser use force refresh Ctrl Shift R ).
Also make sure that all theme settings are as in our guide ->
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.

Check if is not related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.

Also you can use the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper in some cases this can help you to make tagDiv Composer to work.

Make sure that is not a plugin conflict, please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins (theme plugins), also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Let me know the results!
Thank you!

Hi,

Usually this issue is related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
Please try to update manually the plugins -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/

Also make sure that all theme settings are as in our guide ->
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.

If you want, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi fleur,

Some times this problem appear because of the server configuration, if you want you can check our guide from here https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ and for your file you should make sure that you double the values that we recommend, after that save the changes, clear all cache and try again.

Thank you!

Hi afuentessa, this is quite strange. Did the problem persists when you try only with tagDiv plugins?
If yes, then try the below steps:
1. Disable tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/uzBdRB9.png
2. delete tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/xGGfYE7.png
3. Reinstall tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/Ay0zJHn.png or -> https://i.imgur.com/ZMgV9at.png
4. Clear all cache from your website, host and browser ( for browser use force refresh Ctrl Shift R ).
Usually the “Invalid reply from server endpoint error” is caused by insufficient WP_Memory_limit, if you’ll set it to 256M, and is still not working, please check the rest of settings from our guide.
Also make sure that all theme settings are as in our guide ->

Hi,

That would mean that there are limitation in your server configuration, an upload max size more exactly
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-413-request-entity-too-large-error-in-wordpress/
You can contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase the default value, they should be able to do that. The theme also has some requirements for the server once installed, like the guide mentiones
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Thank you for your understanding!
