Hi,
You could use a cloud header template, this will allow you to select the menu you want to display on mobile – http://prntscr.com/nfn9ws
Here you can see the available cloud header templates, these can be imported and alos modified if needed
– https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Headers
You can also build your own using the header builder elements
– http://prntscr.com/nfnapk
So you can display a different mobile menu if you use a cloud header template, without resorting to code.
Thanks
I am a little confused as to how sorting works for post category mega menus. Does it sort by newest post? last modified?

Hi,
When you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used.
Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements
You can use the modified date option that provide our theme to display each date you want on blocks, you can use this option, or use the old one with publish date.

Hi,
In the last theme update there was a modified date shortcode added in cloud templates
– http://prntscr.com/mxscwu
So if you use a cloud post template now it is possible to display the modified date. For modules there is also an option now – http://prntscr.com/mxsdd7
Also a sort method has been added to be able to sort posts by modified date
– http://prntscr.com/mxse5z
Thanks

Hi,
The sorting will only work by publish date, so modifying the post in any way will not affect the sorting.
So in blocks using the latest sorting, the posts will be ordered by the date of publishing, not modified.
Glad you could sort things as you wanted. A different menu on mobile is possible, with the mobile theme, by default. Other than this, it would only be possible with theme file modifications.
I could try to give you a solution to load a different menu on mobile when the mobile theme is not activated, but it should be noted that the modifications will be lost after an update. Some of the theme files cannot be modified through a child theme.
The mobile theme is meant to be used if you want to display a lighter and different version of the website for mobile devices. Each page has to be created once for desktop, and once for mobile, through the mobile editor
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
It has predefined templates for category pages, posts etc regardless of what it’s set for desktop. Also it does not have many settings, at the moment.
Please let me know if I missed something.
Thanks
Hi, I am running varnish, newspaper on an apache server. My varnish cahce is resetting after 300 seconds. I have disbaled all plugins and it still resets.
I spoke to my host and they think it is to do with the theme. The response is below.
Is there anything in the theme that would make my varnish cache reset after 300 seconds? Is there any testing I can do to find out the cause?
thanks

Hello,
Thanks for contacting DreamHost. Sorry to hear about the problems you
have been experiencing. I did some testing and it appears the something
installed within WordPress is causing the varnish cache to expire after
300 seconds. I tested this by creating a basic HTML file and then running
a curl command to see the varnish cache time listed.
$ curl -I https://www.homeremedyhacks.com/dh.html
HTTP/2.0 200
date:Sat, 20 Jan 2018 20:33:33 GMT
content-type:text/html
content-length:0
server:Apache
last-modified:Sat, 20 Jan 2018 20:26:40 GMT
etag:”0-5633b03b9c974″
x-cacheable:YES
accept-ranges:bytes
x-varnish:748103202 748102147
age:405
via:1.1 varnish
As you can see above the cache went paste 300 to 405. It could be a
plugin or the theme itself. Check to make sure to see if there is some
sort of internal plugin or theme caching enabled and then disable it.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!

Hi,
4. The unique articles is intended to be used only when the page contains elements without using pagination
– https://www.screencast.com/t/qsvbBINGrn3M
If pagination is used there will still be unique articles on the initial page load, but when the pagination is used there will be duplicates.
There are sufficient default filtering and sorting options for the grids and blocks to prevent duplicates from happening
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
If it is for some reason required to implement the same filtering and sorting on different blocks, there is also an offset feature that can be used
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/offset-feature/
In most case the rocket loader caused similar issues with the sliding mobile background. If you could provide a link to your website we will inspect it.
The theme blocks and grids are predefined, they cannot be modified unless through code. Blocks will always look the same, depending on the layout they are placed. Block 24 for example
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-24/
Try different block and grid types, there might be one that would be similar to what you are describing.
Thanks
Hi,
The easiest way would be to install the demo with content, gradually replacing it with your own. Start from the top for example, with the logo, menus etc. Configure the blocks and widgets on the page to display your own content
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Customize the footer as well. Content in blocks and grids can be filtered and sorted as you wish, random is one of the sorting options available.
The header style used in the demo does not have a limit for the logo size, any image can be used. However the demo uses a logo of this size
– https://www.screencast.com/t/GLOiEOrHN
With a background color set in the theme panel
– https://www.screencast.com/t/5iGj1wIh
This creates the effect of a full width logo, you can use a single wider image or create a similar effect.
Those icons are created specially for this demo. They are added like this
– https://www.screencast.com/t/9WQGW16Lmc
When you will replace the header menu with your own, they will not be visible anymore. You could add your own icons like this
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-add-icons-in-menu/
All the modules have settings for font customization, in the theme panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
Article titles, excerpts fonts can be modified in the theme fonts settings. For example the Must Read block is a block 5, this is the module it uses
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-add-icons-in-menu/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-blocks-modules/

Please let us know if you have further questions or you need help with something.

Hi,
We are encountering a problem with the 7 days popular posts.
We set up the theme as showing for 7 days, where we modified the block- (use 7 day post sorting, enabled) and the post settings (ajax view count, enabled) for displaying it for 7 days. We dumped the complete cache of the site (w3 total cache), but when we reload the website, the site doesn’t display any posts at all in the block where we have the popular posts displayed.
When we switch it to all time, it does.
We havent used custom code in the site and the site runs on the main (not on child)
Any hints on where to find this issue?
I have tried both ways and it doesn’t work.
My homepage is: https://test.theblackpoolilluminations.info/
and I changed the header block to sort by modified as per the post, updated this post:
https://test.theblackpoolilluminations.info/about/the-lights/alices-garden-tableau/
and it doesn’t feature – help!
Hi,
There is something similar described in this topic that you can try
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/implemented-new-sort-most-popular-among-posts-of-last-7-days/
It would require to modify one of the existing sorting to display posts by modified date. Check the solution posted in the last part of the topic.
Thanks
Hi,
just about to make my new website live, but have discovered the ‘latest’ sort works on date created. I really need to sort by modified date as that is how I monetise my website. I have researched the forums (https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/sort+modified/) but modifying the ‘oldest post’ does not appear to be having any effect.
Skilled PHP, so if this option is not there – please telly me the best way to modify the core of the theme and I’ll happily share any developments here.
Really important I am able to do this.
Many thanks for your support
