Hello,
The icon issue is a whole different matter. This issue is tied to fonts. If they are not loaded from the same source, this can happen.(It’s basically because of the CDN) In this case you will need to add a rule in .htaccess like this topic suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
well …
everything fine with the image ad.
Then there must be some java or css (maybe of a plugin) which makes problems. I don’t know. Everything was fine so far, and then a few months ago, it started to do these strange things. Just a few – and then it got much more often until now …
Really weird and strange … 🙁
Maybe I will try to reinstall wordpress over the site.
That’s right, but with the theme panel I can only choose between bold and regular. My font (Roboto) can have weights like 100, 300, 400, 500 or 700.
I’d like to apply the “300” for the menu so I believe this can only be made through CSS. I found the way but the behavior’s strange.
I noticed the “bad effect” appears also when hovering menus with dropdown items – not with regular ones.
I removed every customization and set all this again, with no luck…
Hi,
This is a very strange issue. We have no reports of this yet. Please try your ad spots with a simple image ad and test to see if they still produce a white space. We cannot recreate this issue on our end.
Try to use this ad for testing:
<div class="td-all-devices"><a href="#"><img src="http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/rec300.jpg"/></a></div>
Let us know if you have problems with this ad as well.
Thank you!

This adcode produces a strange white space under itself:
<script type=”text/javascript”>
adscale_slot_id=”NmQxY2Mw”;
</script>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://js.adscale.de/getads.js”></script>
And this adcode produces the same large white space. But in addition it renders at the bottom of this large white space – within the block under it:
<div class=”zx_F1BFC5647DE8DBD6A026 zx_mediaslot”>
<script type=”text/javascript”>
window._zx = window._zx || [];
window._zx.push({“id”:”F1BFC5647DE8DBD6A026″});
(function(d) {
var s = d.createElement(“script”); s.async = true;
s.src = (d.location.protocol == “https:” ? “https:” : “http:”) + “//static.zanox.com/scripts/zanox.js”;
var a = d.getElementsByTagName(“script”)[0]; a.parentNode.insertBefore(s, a);
}(document));
</script>
</div>
Hi Bogdan,
when using the normal wordpress text-widget everything is fine … Only when using your Adslots things getting strange right now 🙁 …
Hello,
It seems a bit strange as this code does not influence the bottom side of the footer.
Please try this code instead and see how it goes:
.td-footer-wrapper{
padding-top:0!important;
padding-bottom: 0!important;
}
.td-footer-bottom-full{
padding-top: 10px;!important;
padding-bottom: 10px!important;
}
Thank you!
Hi there …
since a few months I have a strange problem with some kind of a white space (a free space) under the ads of my sidebars. This does not happen all the time. But every few pageviews I can see such a white space.
I have had a few conversations about this with adscale.de (the delivering company for these ads). They are telling me, that they never heard about such a problem and it would be technically impossible, that this bug would be generated from their side …
This completely destroys the users experience for our magazine. It’s really weird and strange 🙁 … Anyone else here with such “spaces”? …
Best regards
Torsten
Hey Chris,
I cleared my Chrome history and caché, but the problem is still there. With the other two websites I shared above it’s also happening.
Very strange I must say, it has to do something with Chrome for sure.
Best regards,
Elvis.
Hi,
I did it but still not working. Although on Firefox the website behaves like it should be and I can zoom without problems with the mouse wheel and ctrl key. I also tested other websites with newspaper /newsmag con Chrome, and on some of them the zoom also does not work, like for example (exactly the same issue I have):
So I don’t know what causes this issue on Chrome, but is really strange because sometimes I can zoom until one point, and after that the function just stops working and the wheel starts scrolling instead of zooming the page.
Can you please take a look at it one more time? My site is: http://www.cronicasgeek.com
Thank you very much!
Hi,
You simply have to enter the code provided in the soluition in your htaccess like in this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/ (bottom reply) and check to see if the error goes away.
<IfModule mod_headers.c>

# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On

RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

Hi Catalin,
I am using WP User Avatar but this has stopped working and I have not added no additional plugins from when it worked to when it stopped working. This is strange or can it a be a compatibility issue now with wordpress 4.4.1? Even the comments section stopped displaying the author’s picture.

Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that the theme don’t use thumbs for this block: http://screencast.com/t/akux07VHT Try to regenerate your thumbnails: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Actually, the front page changed after I registered Newspaper 6, pls see
The texts on the site’s front page are the same that now, strangely, appear in Visual Composer’s “Backend Editor” mode!
Note that I also updated Visual Editor as instructed.
I followed the instructions here to update (via FTP) the Newspaper theme from version 4 to 6:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Before that, I had updated WordPress to the latest version (4.4.1), together with most of the plugins. Everything had worked after that.
However, after I then updated the Newspaper theme, the site layout looks completely randomized. Please see the screenshot at
Activating and registering Newspaper 6 as instructed did not help, except that the warning message seen at the top of the screenshot disappeared.
Hello,
this is a strange issue. We have no reports of this happening. Please try to download the theme again from envato and make sure you install the version you download following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!
UPDATE: wow, ok, well the one plugin I had initially refused to deactivate to help solve the above (W3 Cache) turned out to be the cause of both problems! Anyways, looks like it’s all fixed, but do you guys know why W3 Cache caused these issues?
Strangely enough, it also prevented the sticky menu from working, but it now does!
Hi,
Please regenerate your thumbnails using this – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ and if you use Photon module from Jetpack please disable it.
Let us know how it goes and provide your site url so we can check this if the issue persist.
Thanks!
Hi @barryc123
You can set the featured image from post editor: http://screencast.com/t/fzThUQ0Nq1u Also try to regenerate your thumbnails https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.
If the problem persist please provide your site url so I can inspect it closer.
Thanks!

Hey Chris,
Thank you for your answer, I already use the Yoast XML sitemap, and the timestamp of that article is correct. The strange thing is that this doesn’t happen with all my articles, just with some of them.
Hello doran,
I’ve tested on my side and everything seems to work properly. This is the original size of the thumb used by the theme. This thing you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/IfHJMtXc – http://screencast.com/t/513dm70GHOYr – http://screencast.com/t/lp8qXWPIt4ev
I suppose that your original size is different of this block and it becomes to original size (218 px) when the number of posts is 1…this is strange…and might be a conflict plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge CDN file if you used and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and try it again. If the problem is still there, after this advice, please let us know.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the message!
