Yesterday I used the “Text with title”, uploading a trasparent image and changing the background color of the text with title with red. Today (I updated to 8.1), this doesn’t work and shows only the background color. Is like he is covering the image. How can i solve?

Any help?

BTW I tried deactivating TD Composer and reinstalling VC but still the same issue.
You can keep using Visual Composer – it’s not gone.
For ‘suggestions’ for TD Composer, you might want to send email to team.
So you mean not to use TD Composer? OR deactivate TD Composer altogether?
Make sure *not* to also activate TD Composer at same time.
Wait! The TD Composer spontaneously started working this afternoon (US Eastern Time)!!! Maybe a Windows 10 update is responsible?
I’ll get back to you with a new support request if it stops working going forward.
Thanks,
Laura
Turns out all I had to do was disable TD Composer 🙂 They should’ve added a warning when both plugins are active.
Hello Simion,
When I attempt to edit a page using the TD Composer, I get a blank screen.
I’ll try the classic deactivating all other plugins, enabling them one by one to see if there is a conflict. The thing is, everything was working just fine previously. Guess there could have been an update that broke things?
I’ll follow up with more information after looking at all the plugins. My system status seems to be in compliance with theme documentation.
Thanks,
Laura
I spoke too soon, even with the memory limit raised and the login issue resolved, tagDiv Composer is now enabled but isn’t loading in the WYSIWIG Visual Editor, nor from the front end when we click on ‘Edit with TD Composer’. Hosting have looked into this and it’s not logging any specific errors so we’re unsure as to what’s even causing the issue now. Does the TD Composer have any specific requirements? It looks like we’ll jusy revert to VC as it works fine and without any issues.
Matt
Same issue here. Fortunately I was able to move successfully to the tagDiv Composer to update the theme but now I cannot update using the TD Composer 🙁
Hello, I’m having the exact same problem and to make sure it’s not caused by other plugins or custom code I created a fresh WordPress installation on https://update.rahetbally.com/ and installed ONLY Newsmag & the attached version of Visual Composer (I even deleted Jetpack and other default plugins) and yet it doesn’t work.
The page at https://update.rahetbally.com/test/ is supposed to have two columns “Desktop”: should be visible on lg,md,sm and “Mobile”: should be visible on “xs” only. But you can see clearly that none of the classes (vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs) are added to the columns.
Here’s the backend code for /test:
[vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3" offset="vc_hidden-xs"][vc_custom_heading text="Desktop"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3" offset="vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm"][vc_custom_heading text="Mobile"][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
You can see that the ‘vc_hidden’ classes are ignored in the generated HTML:
<div class=”vc_row td_uid_2_59889dbb6feb4_rand wpb_row td-pb-row”><div class=”vc_column td_uid_3_59889dbb6ffe4_rand wpb_column vc_column_container td-pb-span4″><div class=”wpb_wrapper”></div></div><div class=”vc_column td_uid_4_59889dbb7009e_rand wpb_column vc_column_container td-pb-span4″><div class=”wpb_wrapper”><h2 style=”text-align: left;font-family:Abril Fatface;font-weight:400;font-style:normal” class=”vc_custom_heading”>Desktop</h2></div></div><div class=”vc_column td_uid_5_59889dbb705e4_rand wpb_column vc_column_container td-pb-span4″><div class=”wpb_wrapper”></div></div></div>
Thank you,
I tried replicating the problem but couldn’t.
It’s related to the same page I posted about here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/do-we-need-to-update-td-composer-upon-updating-theme/
Had originally gotten a blank page for that page and the only other one I’ve used TD Composer for. Then I posted that question…then later got this error message.
But as I mentioned, I haven’t had a problem again.
Fair enough, Bogdan. You got to move on your own not depending on VC, a third party plugin, although it served a great purpose at a different time. VC is no doubt a great plugin but if you have to play at its tune then it’s obviously not the best option for Newspaper theme. So I understand your move. I sincerely hope the td composer will soon become popular among Newspaper users.
A suggestion that could save you lots of hassle- do not install td composer along with the theme upgrade. Let users understand what it is, how it works, and decide on their own when to or whether to install it. What happens now is, it is installed by default and by nature overpowers VC, and that seems to be causing issues. This, of course, only if it is technically feasible considering you may have written the theme codes keeping tdc in mind and may need it to be installed while upgrading. Just a thought… Have a good day!
Hi,
The error is displayed when you are not using the tagDiv composer editor. A solution would be to edit one of your theme files. Please copy the code provided here
– https://pastebin.com/kwhQw4NT
Then edit the td_block_text_with_title.php file from your theme (Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_block_text_with_title.php)
And replace all the found code with the one provided
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XziIqPVDEhbG
Then the error will not be displayed anymore, when the tagDiv composer is deactivated. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused for you. Please let us know if you have further problems.
Thank you!
I trust tagdiv team and there is no doubt that Newspaper is in fact the best theme available in many ways. I also believe that td composer is a great addition and will be very helpful in the long tun. However, I feel compelled to say that starting version 8, this forum has seen many users reporting issues, caused apparently due to td composer (some issues obviously due to improper installation procedures). In any case, knowing the nature of any such major update, I skipped updating 8 and waited for 8.1.
Updating did not cause any major issue in my case although it did wipe out all my sidebar widgets. I had to spend some time to make them work again. To those who have not yet updated to 8 or 8.1, I would suggest note down all your settings like widgets and stuff before upgrading.
The other thing I faced is, my social counters stopped working on facebook although I upgraded the social counter plugin also. I deleted cache, etc. but it didn’t work. My Post fb likes had started disappearing before I upgraded to 8.1 so I wouldn’t count the upgrade responsible for it but after upgrading, my fb Page likes also became 0. In order to verify the issue was not with facebook, I used Jetpack facebook Likes plugin and my Page likes came back. So I suspect there is some issue with the plugin, either tdc or social counter that caused the Page Likes to become 0. This forced me to deactivate tdc although it did not solve the problem then. I must add that after some time when I tried with another computer, the fb Likes reappeared even using td social counter, so the issue may have been caused by some traces of cache or whatever on the first computer but the main point to be noted is, the Page likes did disappear. Hope that can be looked into. For the time being I have switched to Jetpack fb counter but hope to switch back to td social counter soon. I guess I will wait for the next tdc update. I am wiring all this with the hope that it will help users and developers resolve whatever issues may be there.

I like and trust the TagDiv team, I just believe that there is no way to generalize with a page-only solution, when you have a magazine theme and the idea is to propitiate through WordPress and its quick editing of notes via posts, the solution Should consider better migration.
From what I see in the forum we are several who have problems with the posts. In my case it is the sidebar that overlaps with the content that was previously in Visual Composer.
After installing TagDiv you can not choose to use it for one thing or another. It is a definite change since if it is active there is a conflict with the VC and the sidebar does not work. If we activate the VC and deactivate the TDC we simply do not have the blocks for the main pages.
That is, would not it be too much to ask for an intermediary solution?
I do not need an editor for the posts, I WANT TO USE THE TDC. But if the sidebar does not work and the VC is conflicting … maybe you have to change the subject. Even enjoying it and using it for so long.

You can keep using Visual Composer – it’s not ‘gone.’
The TDComposer is a more lightweight, faster, more secure solution for those who only use the pagebuilder for home page, business info pages, etc. and don’t use it on posts, where there is already wide variety of custom post layouts.
For our sites, it’s a perfect fit, as we don’t custom build ‘posts,’ only ‘pages’ and so it’s much faster, and less prone to all the weird system issues we’ve had with VC.
Nothing to correct in the sense of “it’s bad….” — if you have found a bug and can identify how you experienced it, where and why, and what steps taken to debug that, they will definitely address it for the next update to TDC — which is still fairly young, and still being developed.
TDC is *not* a 1:1 replacement for VC. Two totally different things.
If you like VC, keep using it. If you don’t want to switch to TDC, you don’t have to.
I have the same problem.
I don’t know why a great theme than Newspaper changes the builder, but just for pages?
A great mistake…If WP has a based post, the focusing has mean to the posts, not pages.
If we install TD Composer the Posts broke. If we don’t use, we can’t edit the pages…
Please, correct this for all of us. The sidebar are essential for all.
Thanks!
Hi,
I have tried deactivating all my plugins except the ones provided by tagDiv but unfortunately, nothing happened.
I then tried accessing my site using Firefox / Safari and TD Composer worked fine.
I am still hoping to access my site using Google Chrome, and so I shall continue to search for a fix…
Please help me.
I reinstall website and I disable tagdiv composer my homepage apear with error:
wp booster error:

/home/tutodsne/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
wp booster error:

Please 🙁
I have several websites with newspaper8 and I upgraded to 8.1 with no problems, but in one particular, I get this error at home after updating and the web does not load. What’s wrong?

Thanks but my front page goes offline when I switch off td composer. It says

Any solutions?
They can’t fix your content.
You can keep using Visual Composer — you don’t need to stop using it. TDC is optional, and is primarily for those starting with theme first time, or who only use it for stuff like home page and custom pages — not posts.
If you use to use TDC in place of VC, you will need to redo some stuff.
Or, just keep using VC.
