Can’t install old theme, doesn’t matter. Tagdiv newspaper reload time for Add new post takes 40-46sec, I try default wordpress theme on the same domain, reload time of Add new post takes only 3-4 sec :).

As a buyer and still currently a user, I have a couple of observations.
Plugins in one place please
There should be a file or page in your docs listing the contents of the plugins folder and saying what they’re for, and plugins should be kept in one directory, not two.
As all these plugins need to be updated manually, users need to remember that although they’ve updated all the plugins in the plugins folder, there are still two more plugins stored in the code directory. That’s not intuitive.
Speed booster?
I’m lost as to the point of the ‘speed booster’ plugin, which seems to get disabled by everything except sunshine.
I won’t list all the basic plugins I’ve found that disable the speed booster plugin, but it is a massive list including many of the default plugins I use on the majority of my sites (50+). However, I’m sure you’ll agree that website security is important. I have yet to find a security plugin that doesn’t disable your speed booster. Even ninjafirewall turns it off.
Author pages
Google have a list of strict requirements which sites must comply with before they can be included in Google’s news listings. One of those requirements is proper author attribution.
In this theme, as far as I can see, each post can show a user bio box, which contains the text copied from the author’s wp user page. The theme copies whatever is in the wp user box and pastes it into the bio field as unformatted text.
Okay, you can write your own plugin to force the bio field to accept basic html like line breaks and <p>, but this should be a basic theme feature, given the context.
If the author’s name in the bio box is clicked, the visitor is taken to an archive page which is topped by the same unformatted text field (yes, with social links below) and then a post listing below.
There should be an option to provide a condensed ‘bio’ for bio boxes below posts, with the option to show a proper, or full, author bio on the author’s archive page. The options might include not just social links/icons but things like address, phone number as well as bio. Not all sites need or want these, but some will.
Also, many articles are written by more than one author, so there should be a way of showing co-authors. And so on.
Given the importance of author bios and attribution to Google (this is important if you want your news website to get listed in google’s news listings) the author’s section needs to be considerably better thought out.
Just my observations.
The revolution slider is compatible with the theme, if you have a problem with it we could take look if you could provide some more details.

But for other plugins which are not tested with the theme there is nothing we can do. Note that not all plugins are compatible with premium themes. This is not specific to our theme, most premium themes contain custom implementations.
So if after a recent theme update the plugins you were using are not working properly anymore, there would be no solution we can provide unfortunately.
Most of the time we need sticky or various kinds of add option. In newspaper theme, we have lots of add place but we need to more add option. Otherwise our revenue low down 🙁 🙁

I am needing to:
a) Remove the black square box that has the comment count (we use a comment disabler app so we don’t have comments so a box of zero is popping up on the front page and all over). Is there an easy way, I don’t know programming. I read somewhere it says add this code. How do you add a code?
b) The front page has articles from like 4 years ago and the recent ones are no where to be found. I also found documentation on this but do I create a new page? Or edit the current one? The current page has a different template, not the one that says latest articles. I’m afraid ill crash the site by changing it.
c) We had them install the EventOn calendar, so now how does one implement it on the live site?

We are aware of that issue with the related articles section when using global block header style 8. It will be fixed in the future theme update.

The plugins are updated to the latest versions, what changed is the update of you.
It’s not a problem with plugins, and I do not think it’s an answer that uses other plugins, because those three plugins paid for them and they worked.

Since you build a “block flex”, start thinking of a similar one for the grid, slider or whatever you want to call it low requirements. think of a MULTIGRID where you can enter and choose any of the options that you now offer. And let each one configure it as he wants.

I recently installed an SSL Cert to my website, after reading a few articles from this forum,
I was able to remove all the Mixed content warning, and eventually forced https on all the pages.
When I visit my website from some PCs using chrome(updated) , it works fines, I can see the green lock on all pages.
But when I visit my website from my own Mac using chrome, the green locks vanishes as soon as the images are loaded.
The lock works in my admin page, and also on mobile.
Can someone give me some help? Thanks a lot.

Please update the theme to the latest version of it (v.8.7.2) because I saw that you are using v.8.5.1, remove all of the untested plugins which can break the theme, clear all the caches and check the results. If the problem is still there, please let us know.

If you are updating by patch and you require patch files from 8.6->8.7 we could provide them to you. Then you can download the theme package which contains 8.7->8.7.2. Remember to update all theme plugins as well. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and include a link to this topic in the email.
The 8.7.2 theme version contains many improvements and various fixes for issues in 8.7. So you should update to the latest theme version.

That solution worked for all users since it has been provided. Either make the modifications in the mentioned file or update the theme to 8.7.2. The latest theme version contains many improvements over the previous version including a fix or the issue. Check the theme changelog

I couldn’t say exactly if one of these cases are to blame, but there are some situations when that error is displayed by the composer

The composer should work for default WordPress pages, with custom page types we have not made any testing up to his point. If errors are displayed only when using it on these custom page types, that would suggest it will not work in these circumstances. The plugin and theme have received many modifications over the latest updates.
So you have to disable all these three plugins in order for the issue to be solved. Maybe something changed either in the plugins after an update, in the theme or in WordPress that is now causing the problem.
Try updating the plugins to the latest version, maybe that would solve it. If it does not then that would suggest these are not compatible with the theme anymore, there is a conflict somewhere. In that case you could try other similar plugins if possible.

I have inspected your source page and I saw that you have Newspaper v.8.7.1 Please update it to the latest version of it (v.8.7.2) and reinstall the AMP plugin which comes bundled with this kind of version, clear all the caches and check the results.

Indeed featured videos are supported, there will be no problem there. A lightbox is not available, it could be in the future. I will add this on out plugin suggestion list and it will be considered. Thank you for the suggestion.
The plugin has some color settings, but none for background. As well this might be added in a future update.
That will not work, accessing pages built with a page builder. AMP can be enabled for standard WordPress pages built similar to posts. We don’t have an example for pages at the moment. Our plugin is free, included in the package. As I mentioned it will receive more features in the coming updates. Thank you for all the suggestions, they are noted.

Update the plugins. The theme required and recommended plugins are included in the theme package inside the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder.

The latest changes to the theme and composer have increased the options and possibilities of what can be achieved with them. What latest changes have disappointed you exactly? Most of the additions are optional, you could simply not use them if they are not required for you.
Indeed the tagDiv composer is the main page builder at the moment. It will be integrated further with the theme. Some theme options may only be used with it active. The theme can still be used with Visual composer, this is still provided in the package and updated along theme updates.
The frontend of Visual composer has always been disabled in the theme. This was done because there could be problems using it with our blocks and grids. If you want to remove the function that disables the frontend in Visual composer check this topic

But note that this is highly not recommended.
The tagDiv composer can be disabled if you do not use it. You can use Visual composer further.

2. Update all the theme plugins after updating the theme. Let us know if there still is a problem and what exactly the error is.
3. Provide a link to your website and we will inspect this issue. I have tested simple drop-down menus, there are no issues with them. Check the live theme demo Homepages menu (latest theme version is installed in demo)

That could be caused by a third party plugin, you could try as a quick test to deactivate them all and check the results.
4. We will inspect this if you could provide a link to your website. It could be a combination of colors in the theme panel, so the icon is not visible

Or it could be some other issue.
5. There were no changes in the theme regarding the thumbnail creation. These are created the same as before. If the images you use are of quality, the thumbnails will be as well. Unless you have a form of image compression/optimization or quality filter added by you or provided by the server.

Thanks for your response Catalin. I’m doing it on localhost now as it’s still in development phase. I’ve the latest theme for newspaper activated which is 8.7.
This problem is very obvious whenever I activate the jQuery Updater plugin the problem occurs. When I deactivate it, the images are showing as per normal again.

I have a page-style custom post type named “guides” that I want to use with TagDiv Composer. TD Composer was working properly at one point, but after some recent updates we began seeing an error when loading TD Composer. Unfortunately, Newspaper is still very much a beta-project for us (i.e. we have not launched the website using the theme yet; the live site is still using a custom theme we built years ago), so I do not have a clear timeline of when the error first appeared (since we aren’t checking it all the time).
When loading TD Composer on any “guide” post type, a red bar appears at the top of the screen with this error:
“Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!”
The error prevents new elements from being added to the page.
TD Composer still works properly in the WordPress “page” post type. We considered just moving all our guide content to be listed as Pages instead, but there are hundreds of them. The custom post type is for organization more than anything else, and we would really like to keep it if possible. Is there a solution to this error?
The custom post types are added in function.php using the standard WordPress creation code.
