I have followed all instructions to update the theme with B. Update the theme automatically
Everything worked fine until the last step. There I can see the “Update Available” and nothing happens when I click it.

what is the problem?
I did not want to use your C method as I fear that it will change all my theme selections to the default ones (in Theme Panel)

Hello, i have more problem with my article sharing after update Newspaper to version 8.6
My article sharing now are on the left of my article, i need in a center, and my like twitter is disappeared.
Why?
Before with version 8.5 everything was fine.

Please try to clear all caching installed after making the update. If you use CDN please purge all files. Check if this solves the issue. Try as well to switch to the main theme if you use a child theme. Let us know if there still is a problem.

Yes we do plan to add new social icons in future updates. I cannot promise all these social networks will make it into the theme though.

There were some issues in the latest update mentioned by our users. These were immediately fixed and the theme has been updated again. So at the moment there are no more known issues regarding the latest version.
You could make the update, and let us know if there are any problems. The update provides improvements to the social sharing part, as well as some various fixes.

yeah, I noticed, but in the Russian segment of the popular “Classmates”, “small World”, “My world”, Blogger. If in a future update they will be, it will be wonderful!

@Olya in the new update VK and linkedin are part of the social icons provided by the theme. The above method will not work anymore in the new version.
@buddymantra please clear your cache and purge cdn files. If you use a child theme please switch to the the default theme.

I recently update the theme and I have some issues with multi-purpose plugin, I can’t see the new shortcodes and have an error in the theme panel, under plugin’s setting when I click on multi-purpose I only can see:
BUTTONS STYLE
wp booster error:
td_api_base:mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: tds_api is not set.
/my_route_host/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
….
and another similar error saying:
missing parameter: ‘file’
…../td_autoload_classes.php

I’ve lost work with it, so now I’m 8.5
I will never update again until a few days, or a few weeks, and see that the update is stable.
I’m sorry, but I can not afford to lose work. My work is my money.

I have exactly the same problem as others re the 8.6 update and social icons. Here is a post https://www.guitarandmusicinstitute.com/how-to-play-a-little-piece-of-heaven-by-avenged-sevenfold/ for inspection both at the top of the post and at the bottom the icons are clearly not working properly.
+1 to issue. I’m having similar issues. P.S- Just updated to 8.6.

Hi,
The sub-footer can display a copyright text and a menu, those can be set in the theme panel.
If you want to display additional elements as you mention, you could enter the HTML in the custom HTML section in the theme panel. The HTML will be displayed below the sub-footer

Hi. I love the theme and it has been a joy to work with TagDiv.
We have tens of thousands of pageviews each month and want to update our theme now to 8.6.
All plugins are up to date. WordPress is latest version. No issues at all so far.
Will it be a smooth transaction or do I have to be careful whit something in specific?
Hi,
That probably means you used Visual composer on the posts. This is happening because of the tagDiv composer introduced in version 8 of the theme.
This composer will be automatically installed and activated when the theme theme is installed or updated. Please go in the plugins section and deactivate the tagDiv composer. Everything should display properly then.

I have some time lit up icon new update in the WordPress dashboard, the only way I was able to update
I have exactly the same problem: I have done everything (installed Envato Market plugin and conneceted Token + Item id) but when I click on “Update Available” nothing happens,and my Newspaper theme is still 8.2 version
Since the latest update the block elements that I have used don’t work properly. In the CMS I see the grid exactly how it has to be, but the site itself shows only images in a long vertical row. See here at the bottom of the homepage: https://schooldomein.nl. Please help! Thanks!

After update from files “patch_8.5.1_8.6”, the new option social networks sharing is not working complete.
