I assume this has been updated, we have sites using the theme and FBIA
Hi I got noticed about Newspaper theme has an update. It came through Envato. Can I pay them to safely manage the update? Thanks a bunch.
Still no update since a year regarding this issue?
To clarify, I’m talking about the Facebook Instant Articles embed of media from youtube, instagram, facebook, twitter, etc.
Hi,
I was using this code on tagdiv_theme.js file (theme version was 8.0 and working well). This code adds a Pin It button to magnify popup images. After I’ve to update theme version to 8.1.1 this code doesn’t work anymore. Is there a possible conflict?
You need to sign up for the update notification on Themeforest in your account, where you bought the theme. “WordPress” can’t update you as it’s not in theme repository on WordPress.org.
it would be nice to be notified of a new update … by email or a notification on the wordpress administration
Yoast has a support forum on WordPress.org for the free version; for the pro/paid version you have direct support with 24-48 hour replies direct from Yoast co. They have a github page to submit verifiable and reproducable bugs; and this is why they often have many ‘dot updates’ after a new full version (so it’s wise to WAIT when they do v 5 for 5.0.3 or whatever; this is very common with them). Also good to keep prior versions to roll back if mission critical as with *all* plugins.
Yes.

Read all items carefully:
Step 7 – Update the plugins. The theme required and recommended plugins are included in the theme package inside the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder.
Ok, so we have to update the plugins and not only the file “Installable WordPress Theme” as explained on this page https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ ?

Or read update_log.txt in theme zip-archive.
the update of version 8.1 to 8.1.1 broke my layout, so I would like to just fix XSS Security issue by replacing to good php files.
Hi, is there a page explaining the modifications due to the update of the theme released today?

Hi,
from version 8.1 to 8.1.1 what files are modified to fix XSS Security issue?
Thank you
I always try to update via Envato market plugin and it never works. It would be so much more convenient to do it that way. Is there a reason why it doesn’t work that way?
Hello the TagDiv team,
I would like to know if we need to do something specific to get the latest update of the template.
How to download this update? Is it something automatic? Do we need to do something?

Hi, how are you? I have a problem after site migration. Nothing works and I do not know what the problem will be, update the links.
This is where I have to migrate the web http://aefipcapital.org.ar/2017/
And this is the original that works perfect http://aefip.chali.com.ar/
I appreciate your help
No worries. 🙂
I had to do this way back when, as all our old sites had ‘views’ or ‘Views’ — and then our plugin was adding double hits before I realized I had to disable plugin vs trying to hack that out of the theme.
… so, just remember you need to edit that file every time you update the theme!
TIP: keep that in your list of backup stuff in a folder someplace for your overall site project. Glad you got it sorted.
I did suggest they add that as a theme panel option at some point, but considering it’s now 4 years later, I don’t think I will hold my breath on that 😉
Hi,
Scanning the actual openweathermap website for insecure content does not produce any relevant information in this case. Please note that previously the SSL certification could only be available with openweather by paying a monthly fee to them. Now things have changed it seems, the SSL is available for free as well
– http://openweathermap.org/price
We have added this on our list and we will make the necessary modifications in the theme given a future update. If you want to try and make the modification, try it in the theme javascript file like this

Hi,
You can include posts in the Featured category
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/
Then choose the Featured category in the slide filter settings, and sort by Latest
– https://www.screencast.com/t/cjaN2O4V
In this situation the slide will display the latest posts added to the Featured category. A limit of posts can be set as well as an autoplay interval
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XouPGmR1
So now the slide will display for example 5 latest posts from the chosen category, changing every 5 seconds.
The excerpt in this case should be set to letters, maybe choose the same value for all modules. The post titles will not be the same for all posts, experiment with different values for the blocks you use, until you find a perfect solution.
Regarding the cache configuration there is a guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Some settings might have changed, but most are the same
– https://www.screencast.com/t/viT3UUna
We will update the tutorial as soon as possible, taking in account the changes in the cache plugins panels.
The front page will be used to display the posts, you will not be needing that option to use a different page. The “Blog pages show at most” setting controls the number of posts in the Latest articles section (if there is no value set manually – https://www.screencast.com/t/3Io9tIeZhU2), and on category pages loop
– https://www.screencast.com/t/VN0sogW6LNS
– https://www.screencast.com/t/W8vNqqmA1RFs
A sidebar can be set or removed for each category, in the Per category settings. The actual sidebar content can be customized in Appearance->Widgets
– https://www.screencast.com/t/DatBdFk8j
There could be such plugins, but we cannot make any recommendations. You can search for and try out a few plugins that have options like this. The post can be shared but manually, not automatically
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/sharing/
Please let us know if you have further questions, we will try to help you as soon as possible.
Thanks
Hi Catalin,
I’m ok to edit td_block_authors.php but will it be affected when I update the theme?
Hello Torasko,
We will hope to make a small update this week for Visual Composer.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
If a smart list is used in the post content, the article ads will not be displayed. That is the functionality at the moment. This might change in a future update, but I cannot say for sure. You could use the smart list templates that allow ads to be placed inside their content, from the theme panel ad spots
– https://www.screencast.com/t/c52blDInC
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks
I’ve done precisely as you say in the past (update WordPress the minute a new version is released) and that is what I am talking about. That is when the theme (not yours) was broken instantly by a new WP update. The policy of always asking ahead of time came out of those types of experiences. NOTE: We could not update our Newspaper theme to NP8 when it was relesased because we had just finished creating the site with the latest version of NP7 and would have had to start over and re-stage, according to the forum here. Client deadline prevented that.
Just updating to the latest WordPress version as soon as it is released is no guarantee that a site will not be rendered unusable due to theme issues. That is why many users who have had these experiences choose not to update. Not because they don’t want to or are being negligent. You mention that you do not test previous (including the relatively recent 7.8) versions of the Newspaper theme on the newest WordPress. Although I understand what you are saying, that is also why I am not free to update WordPress right now. I would literally be rolling the dice with no assurance of the outcome. Rolling back to an earlier version of WP after a theme is broken by a WP update is a somewhat volatile process with its own risks.
By the way, this is the first time I have asked a theme developer about compatibility prior to a WP update and have not gotten a yes or a no. Unfortunately, I have to be even more cautious on that basis. Thanks for responding. I do appreciate it.
