I’m not sure if this is related to the update or not, but my homepage comeout blank on chrome and Mozilla. And in the explorer it gives me the following error:

The mobile theme and the subpages work. But its just the homepage in the desktop version.

after updating the theme to version 8.1 my tagDiv Composer doesn’t work anymore.
When I try to access it, it goes to …/wp-admin/post.php?post_id=5&td_action=tdc and it displays white screen.
I tried to deactivate and activate it again, I have also deleted it and downloaded a new version from the updated theme .zip file, but it is still the same.
Any idea what can I do?

Looks like with the new update it fixed the problem.

If you updated from theme version 8 there should be no problems. If you have an older version, please note that the new tagDiv composer is activated by default when you update the theme. Try deactivating this plugin after updating and check the results. In some cases having both editors active creates problems

after upgrading the theme the mobile version of our site is having issues. it appears that the theme is now referencing:

however, i believe the reference should be to this file which is the actual location of the file:
http://www.askdrmanny.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/mobile/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=8.1
we can update manually, but, wanted to point this out and get your thoughts as well.

The author name or date will be displayed in the Facebook share, try disabling them in the theme panel if you do not want them to display

I updated the theme as should, as always.
Via ftp my only choice would be to delete the whole folder and then upload new one. Because otherwise I will press yes overwrite for every file (because our hosting system) đ
Updating theme plugins would be the same way. Since WordPress does not let you update newspaper plugins that way. I need to delete folder first and then upload and install them again. <- You guys should add plugins to your theme update, so all newspaper plugins would be updated automatically together with newspaper theme. I always thought that your plugins are included into update. Do I really need after every newspaper theme update manually delete newspaper plugins and then install them manually? <- It’s not called update, itĂ€s called delete and install. đ

Try updating by FTP. The theme and update is tested and there should be no problem. Update the theme plugins as well along with the theme. Clear any caching installed after the update.

The surest method is by FTP. Follow the advice from the guide and make backups before updating the theme.
Update the plugins that are included in the them package as well. Switch to the main theme if you are using a child theme, as the code might need adjustments after updating.
If you made modifications to the previous theme files, you might need to make them again if needed.

But if you want to do update that way how you describe, you can’t. If you do it that way you will get error that /htdocs/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/ folder already exist.

My site is running version: 6.3.2 of Newspaper and I would like to update this to the latest version of 6 which is 6.7.2. However, Envato only have the latest version (v8+) – is there a way I can get 6.7.2 from anywhere please?

That probably was the issue with the Visual composer update. You must have updated this plugin, before it is officially supported by the theme

There were similar problems where in the backend, only code would display inside the elements. You should only use the Visual composer plugin that is provided in the theme package, as this is tested and fully compatible with the theme. Or if you have a purchased license, at least make sure it is the same version and do not update it when available.
Please note that in the theme latest update today, support for Visual composer 5.2 was added. Try updating the theme and check if the problem is solved.

Update by FTP works normally, but settings of theme not loading (for example content inside Ads Block in header).

You must consider that there were a lot of changes made to the theme with each update. It is recommended to make a backup to the database, and then install the new theme version by FTP as mentioned in this guide
