Two quick questions:

For featured images, what are the recommended dimensions so that the image fills the block in the Big Grid and other displays?

Whenever i activate the Social Counter plugin I get the following error message posted in the top left of my website:

wp booster error:
Please update your [tagDiv social counter] Plugin!

How do I update the plugin? Did not find it in the general plugin store.

Hello,

I am wondering if I am able to create custom blocks without them being wiped out during the next theme update.
I have created a custom block or two but noticed they must be registered in the td_config.php file. As you know, this file is unable to replaced within my child theme. Is there another way to create a custom block or module? Am I overlooking something? Thanks!

Hi!!!
I update the theme, following the instructions (https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/), but I get a blank page….
First i get a problem with td-social-counter (a update message on control panel, but a blank page too….), and I Update “td-social-counter” uploading and activating this plugin.
Now, i don’t get the “update td-social-counter”, message, but the page is blank too…

Sorry for my english.

Recently I have posted here something about sticky posts and made a request that you should fix this in a future update. I am still trying to get a workaround for this. It corssed my mind that a good solution for this would be that one inserts a block on the top of the main block and then filters this new block by one category only (let’s say “Sticky” category). Then, the block would be visible only when there are news on that category.

I tried to do this but it seems that the block is always visible no matter what. Please tell me that there a way to solve this! Is there!

Hi saggel,

1. Unfortunately this was designed to work exactly like the jetpack stats and the API doesn’t support this.
2. This is a good suggestion and I have added it on our list and we will try to implement it in a future update.

Thanks for suggestion!

Hi,

Please make a full backup and try this. Edit this code like here: http://screencast.com/t/ykN0EEzKT then run the update script again http://screencast.com/t/o8q7wNDmnEm

Thanks!

Hi

I’ve test this on my side with the current theme’s version available on themeforest, which is V2.2 and the theme get the right thumbnail for every post shared: http://screencast.com/t/yMnWrnQ6oKk Please make sure that you’re using the updated version of the theme, also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again.

Let me know how it goes and if the problem persist please provide your site url so I can inspect this closer.

Thanks!

Hi,

Please make sure you update the Visual Composer plugin to the latest version provided with the theme. What theme version do you use. It should not be any issue if you use the latest version. I’m not sure why you have this issue, only on your computer, please clear cache and also the browser cache. If the issue persist check the error.log file and also you console for errors.

Thanks!

Hi,

I added this suggestion on our todo list, as I cannot provide a quick solution for this. It requires many modifications and it is not an easy task. The developers will consider this for futures updates, but I cannot promise you anything regarding it, the developers will take the final decision.
If you really need this now I suggest to hire someone to do it for you from sites like – http://studio.envato.com/
Also the wp admin panel settings cannot be overwritten via child theme.

Thanks!

Hi littleo,

Glad that you managed to make it!
You can send and email at contact@tagdiv.com or write here on the forum about this.
If you have added more image size in the config file you will have to edit the modules to use a specific size(they cannot be edited from WP Editor, you have to do this via ftp). Please note that your custom modifications to the files will be overwritten when you’ll update the theme.

Thanks!

Hi,
Today I have updated my theme to 2.2, but shortly after that I realized that there is a problem with smart sidebars. The problem was that smart sidebars are going up more that they should. And first widget in sidebar was always hidden.

Then I have replaced tagdiv_theme.js with old js file from 2.1 and everything was working normal. Finally, I have found what is causing the problem and decided to share it with you, so you can fix it. If you want of course.

If you check row 5002 in tagdiv_theme.js, you will see this: td_affix_menu_computed_height = td_affix.main_menu_height + td_affix.menu_offset;

If you remove + td_affix.menu_offset and row 5002 become td_affix_menu_computed_height = td_affix.main_menu_height; then this problem is gone.

Regards.

When you place images in your posts you need to make sure you use https on all image links, if your website is https everywhere.

It’s also a very good idea to set your URL explicitly to https in the wp-config.php file as this tells WP that everything it does based on URL should be https.

Any content on your site prior to switch to https does not automatically change; you would need to do dbase search via phpmyadmin or similar to update any placed images in posts (post-meta) to be https vs http.

If that is not your issue, you might need to be more specific and provide link to page where the issue is happening.

Sorry, I’m down under and forgot about time / day differences 🙂

Thank you for your kind suggestion and input; the only issue is that looking back on email logs – it was when I did a theme update that it broke; so it seems weird that it somehow isn’t theme related.
And I agree that it’s likely some kind of conflict — somewhere. But I’ve not been able to track it down. Given that both the About and Home pages are static wordpress ‘pages’ and the rest are dynamically generated based on categories – I suspect that there’s something within that. Further, the About page has very little apart from text, so what could be stopping the twitter feed from working there? o.O

I’ll await official support response 🙂 Thank you again.

I understand what you’re saying.
But it is the themes default sidebar. It works on all the pages that are generated dynamically via categories. The code on those pages is the same.

Further, this does work. It just seems to stop working at really odd times (so far as I’ve been able to establish, it seems that it could be related to the update of the static home or about page).

Hello team. i want to make you to questions about two new features on version 6.5.

1. It’s possible to next update to give us the ability to select the number of days for shorting function from jetpack stats? On version 6.5 this function read the stats from the last 2 days correct?

2. on new smart list (smart list 8), it’s possible to add one more choise on the bottom of dropdown list with function “show full article on one page” ?

hello
I’m using this feature with a block 7 widget.
The fact is that I’m sure those posted cannot be the most viewed ones, how can I make it work? Is there a way to reset / update the counters?

Hi,

An update:- I fused all the above codes. It worked!!!!

Many thanks @Alin @Andrei L. @Emil G Your Support is outstanding.

Emil the doesn’t come from the plugin, it’s Taboola and I directly placed it in the file. Is that a bad thing?

I know each time I update the theme I’m going to have to make these adjustments to all the files, is there a better way to manage it?

I think I figured it out! Using CATEGORY TEMPLATE options…. whew!

The update makes this theme much more complex… options are good but having some trouble finding things easily is frustrating. 😉

I recently updated from 4 to 6.5. I noticed a lot of changes, and I’m finding there are quite a few changes that hinder usability rather than improve it…. 🙁

One of the problems now:

Previously, on this page: http://wordpress.mauimagazine.net/category/maui-magazine/maui-dining/, which is created automatically by a Category “Maui Dining” which is a sub-category of “Maui Magazine”. Before updating to 6.5, the sub-categories were all listed AND were links so the user could click a sub-category to see the posts specific to that sub-category. Now there are no sub-categories showing at all. I cannot figure out how to get them to show up as default for ALL category pages. This is very important organization for our magazine and I really want this feature to work again.

Same here, on the top-most category page, http://wordpress.mauimagazine.net/category/maui-magazine/, all of the sub-categories should show up as clickable links. None are showing.

Please help?

Thank you!!
