I just updated the theme. But I don’t want the lazy image loading and the slow scroll feature. Is there a way that I could just disable these features and keep others intact?
I don’t want to revert to previous version since I want some features of this version (plus that would again create problems whenever I would wish to update to a newer version).

I will be trying the upgrade in a little while once I have some free time to make our various customization changes and then do the uploads via FTP.
On one site I recently did an “in place” upgrade where I had no users logged in, and was surprised it worked going from 1.4 to 1.6.
But will update my own upgrade (mis)adventure when I get there today for anybody interested. My usual issue with forgetting to turn OFF all the plugins, and turning off the mod_pagespeed FIRST ..
We just updated to the latest version of Newsmag and our site is now blank and the dashboard is blank too.
We get this error message

For now i’ve removed [‘show_child_cat’]

If you haven’t made any custom changes to theme’s files then overwriting the theme folder via FTP should update it the correct way: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/
To make sure that the overwriting process isn’t causing other issue you could also delete the theme file first the upload the files of updated version.
Please make sure you do a backup of your current theme and WordPress installation before updating it so that you can revert back to it in case something goes wrong.

Please try this: Remove Visual Composer plugin and all tagDiv plugins and see if works. Then install them again.
We have tested the update and works fine on our side, no blank screen 😐
If the version of Visual Composer updated you need to completely delete that folder and upload new one. I will be doing this myself in a couple of hours.
Try my upgrade guide; as that has always worked for me on some our “peskier” sites.

This may be a stupid question, but if I update the theme by just ftp overwriting the folder, what is that going to change with how the site is set up? I see the note about using a child theme, which I haven’t done, and don’t really understand.
Is it safe to just update as suggested, or is that going to mess stuff up?

Hey there! So I received an email from theme forest this morning saying that an update was available and I tried to install it via the wordpress backend on http://www.Dewdat.Co and it failed due to there already being a listing in the directory.
Is this a theme update or is it only for the files on theme forest? Is there anyway to have the theme update automatically?
Nevermind. This is working now. For anyone seeing this issue – it simply takes a while for it to update.

I updated the theme but the Visual Composer plug-in is acting as if was not updated:
1/cannot use the front end editor (won’t appear)
2/ grid elements broken and full of errors

I updated the Newsmag theme and now I am not able to edit Block 14 and other blocks since the Visual Composer is loading all the time… It is going to infinite loading..

I have checked your site and seems that is missing a class there, so please update your theme to the latest version 1.6 following this guide and use FTP method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ Also update the plugins that come with the theme’s files from /plugins folder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/

Please try this without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer plugin active, also empty cache and see if you still have this issue.
I have checked this with the latest theme version(1.6) and didn’t found any issues.
