I have a few Theme licences and I am getting the same error with the one website that has updated WordPress to the latest version.

Hi Vlad S.,

Your colleague does not admit the problem and has had the installation redone, so the problem remains. Even if you have the access data, you seem to ignore it.

Manual update as I have always done and I will continue to do, brings this problem, always displays information in updates that the update is available when already applied manually.

Thanks,

Thanks, Simion – I see my WP has updated to 5.5.1. I look forward to seeing fixes.

I won’t know if any issues are only with NP as NP is the only theme I use…

Hi,

There was a WordPress update yesterday, seems to contain fixes mostly https://wordpress.org/support/wordpress-version/version-5-5-1/
We have tested the theme with WordPress 5.5 since before it was released officially, the Gutenberg editor should work as with any other theme. If you should find any issues that happen only when using Newspaper, please let us know and we will check.

Thank you!

Hi there!

Since the new update, the theme settings continue resetting to default, breaking my site.
In other words, I use Cloud Library Templates on header, footer, post default, 404, search, etc, but all of these settings continue to reset themselves – I’m having to redo the configuration about 10 times a day!
https://www.screencast.com/t/t8Zit4qq7IQP

I tried everything:
– Reinstall the theme via ftp
– Reinstall the plugins via ftp
– I deleted and deactivated several plugins that were not tested by the theme
– I don’t have any cache plugins enabled (CloudFlare only)
– In CloudFlare I disabled minification and everything

Things you should know:
– I have the latest wordpress version
– I have the latest newspaper theme version
– I’m using multisite and the error occurs in only one of them (the others seem to be fine)
– The system status are fine (https://www.screencast.com/t/qn5qN3VdRCKR)
– I host my website on wp engine, but the cache is disabled so we can find out what’s going on

Plugins installed:
– Ajax Search Pro – Activated
– Akismet Anti-Spam – Activated
– AMP – Activated
– Contact Form 7 – Activated
– Imagify – Activated
– Jetpack por WordPress.com – Activated
– Post SMTP – Activated
– Redirection – Activated
– Stackable – Blocos Gutenberg – Deactivated
– Structured Content – Activated
– tagDiv Cloud Library – Activated
– tagDiv Composer – Activated
– tagDiv Mobile Theme – Activated
– tagDiv Newsletter – Activated
– tagDiv Social Counter – Activated
– tagDiv Standard Pack – Deactivated
– WP User Avatar – Activated
– Yoast SEO – Activated

And just to reinforce, all the sites in the multisite installation are working perfectly, they all use the same plugins, but only one seems to continue to reset the configuration to the default (or -no template-).

Could you please help me with this issue?

Thanks!

Hello, we have 2 websites and I cannot update the home page with TD composer on either. When I try to switch out an image or add an image I get this error “Invalid data Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”. The same error occurs on both websites.

I have turned deactivated the plugins and that did not fix the problem. I have checked the system status and all are green except two that are yellow.

These are the sites:

Hello,

Footer part on page doesn’t seem. When we check theme panel, there are not footer setting details like that information, footer templates (style 1, 2..)..etc. Could this be due to the last update? Now, should we create a new footer? I will be grateful if you could help me..

Thank you!

Hello,

for problem 1, the image width that you are pointing to is 50% by default already. I decided to delete the original big grid flex 6 and row. Then added a new row and big grid flex 6 to make sure I didn’t change any of the default settings by accident. Next, all I did was made the image height 60% for both module categories 1 and 2. The results are the problem of the extra unwanted black spacing under the middle image is still there when the image is 1200 x 800. Is this something that needs to be fixed in the next theme update? or am I still doing something wrong?

for problem 2, if the background for the row is made black instead of the element as you are suggesting, there is then the default black padding of the row itself as seen in this image row background black.PNG on dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ozmmkhywweoiqz5/AADG_LWlcC0zrEbrUOLVGF31a?dl=0). I tried to make the padding 0 in the CSS of the row, but that had no effect. So how do I fix this problem as well?

I should point out, just for context, that the jQuery migration tool has found two errors with the theme/composer and says it requires an update. I have the latest version.

“jQuery Migrate Helper — Warnings encountered

Hello! Just noticed this today, but the thumbnails on Block 2 at the top of our homepage aren’t filling the space: https://www.tcu360.com/

Site is running Newspaper V 10.3.6.1.

The featured images are all wider than 2000px, so I don’t think that’s a problem. no updates or installs have happened recently that would interfere. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

I did a plugin conflict test and CPU usage is over 500% when i activate tag composer

Also, I am using the theme as a parent theme – how can i create a child theme so I can update the parent theme.

Thanks,
James

Tagdiv composer is not allowing my site page to get updated. Additionally it is taking a lot of time to save the updates and after clicking to more than a time at save icon my page has been crashed and now it’s not responding.kindly look into the matter and come out with best possible solution.

Hi,

Usually this issue is related to a firewall or security module which blocks admin-ajax.php request. Please verify the console for error while saving the settings on the Theme Panel, usually it displays a 403 or 404 error.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
Please try to update manually the plugins -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/

Also make sure that all theme settings are as in our guide ->
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.

If you want, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thank you!

1) – for me, I cannot have both Blocks Library and Settings open at the same time. I am on a MacBook, but I think the same applied on my iMac

2) Yes – so one has to work harder, more clicks. Before, I could paste code into a block and the html is immediately recognised – WordPress have created more work for editors.

3) I am referring to WordPress wp-admin/post.php. Under Settings/Block/Colour settings, WordPress have arbitrarily changed the default colours. I used to select a light grey background, around #ededed. WP has changed this to dark grey, perhaps never considering that some users might be using the previous light grey. Consequently I have now to select custom colour and enter #ededed – more keystrokes for the editor

4) Mobile and tablet show reduced column size in the editor but if you select mobile or tablet then hit Preview, you always get a desktop preview, not mobile or tablet.

5) Yes, a retrograde step by WP – makes more work for the editor.

6a) It doesn’t work for me except within a single post. It won’t retain Most Used when I begin a new post. WP used to retain Most Used for new posts. But that stopped working for me long before 5.5, in an earlier version.

6b) Ok, thanks – I didn’t know WP had moved them.

Overall, I find 5.5, so far, to be worse than the previous but perhaps this will be resolved in an update.

But please do check none of these problems result from incompatibility between Newspaper and WP 5.5…

Mark

Hello
We Enable jQuery Migrate Helper, it works but we want you to fix the issue with an update, if wordpress deprecated the jquery and you are still using it it means in the future something will break, and we keep getting this error all the time even if close it on next refresh it appears

jQuery Migrate Helper — Warnings encountered
This page generated the following warnings:

jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
jQuery.fn.live() is deprecated
https://www.trackfieldcy.com/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/assets/js/js_files_for_wp_admin.min.js: jQuery.fn.load() is deprecated
Please make sure you are using the latest version of all of your plugins, and your theme. If you are, you may want to ask the developers of the code mentioned in the warnings for an update.

when do you plan to fix the issue?

also the steps you told us to take are you sure they will not break the website?

Hi,

With the configuration that you have now and the version of theme, everything should work normal, but if you want to make a theme update, before that you need to make a full backup to the website and database and only after that ma the update as in our guide from here -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ I personal recommend to try first time B. Update the theme Manually and only after that use the option A.
Also here is another guide for the problem you mentioned -> https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-destination-folder-already-exists-error-in-wordpress/

Let me know the results!
Thank you!
