Hello
Since the last update (v12.6.9) the live search element in the header is in my case apparently broken.
When in Tagdiv composer, the preview works normally.
On the front end, if i type any words, as any users would do, nothing appears as a result. I i click for searching the word typed, then results appears normally on the search results page. So it’s just the search form which seems to not display any results anymore.
Before that, it was working perfectly, since several years by the way.
I’ve been looking in the forum and in the documentation for potential explanations / solutions, without success so far. I’ve been trying with different browsers, clearing cache, and so on, no success, there’s still no live search results showing.
Do you have any idea what could be the reason ?
I have two different websites using Tagdiv Newspaper, it’s the same for both websites, Live search is not working anymore for me. But search is working as it should.
Best regards
After the recent update, the “Category Siblings” feature has stopped working correctly. The issue affects how categories are displayed across different sections.
Expected Behavior:
Destinations section → “Category Siblings” should display Continents
Continent section → “Category Siblings” should display Countries
Country section → “Category Siblings” should display Country Categories
Current (Incorrect) Behavior:
Destinations section → “Category Siblings” displays Continents + Countries + Country Categories
Continent section → “Category Siblings” displays Countries + Country Categories
Country section → “Category Siblings” displays Country Categories (this remains correct)
Only the Country and Country Categories sections are working correctly. The higher-level sections (Destinations and Continents) are displaying too many unrelated categories.
Yes that is what I did. I rolled back to a previous state from the hosting providers backup before updating. However, it is still the same issues.
I reverted to previous version 12.6.8 and for now I am just recreating lost colors and fonts, and also re-assigning and re-designing the templates. See https://double-glazing-windows.co.uk
Unfortunately there is still issues with the new update.
The social share buttons on the blog are no longer visible. But the main issue with 12.6.9 is that when frontend user submits a CPT “domain”, the submit button is loading forever and the page is not redirecting to my designated link (but I still receive the users submission in the backend). User doesn’t know this of course so they cannot proceed to payment with paypal (a custom link I made for one-time payments.
This issue does not exist for me on 12.6.8 so for now so I will wait until you fix the bugs before updating as I lost a lot of things and I have other licences on my other websites which I don’t want to experience the same issues.
Thanks for now.
Hello,
AMP is deprecated as of January 2023-> https://developer.bigcommerce.com/docs/storefront/wordpress/platform-integration/enabling-amp so we don’t longer recommend it.
You have the mobile theme version now, so you can disbale the plugins to check the responsive version.
Using our theme, you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ The option that you need to use.
Suppose you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer. In that case, when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc, so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY.
So, the mobile responsive is what you see when that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
The Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin cannot.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activated and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page, you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.
Thank you!
Hello Newspaper Support Team,
After the recent update, I’ve noticed an issue with the “Category Siblings” feature. Instead of displaying the closest subcategories as expected, the system now shows the maximum number of categories from different sections. This has disrupted the intended category structure on my site.
Could you please investigate this issue and provide a fix or workaround? Let me know if you need any additional details.
Thank you for your support!
Thanks for implementing the new collapsable TOC in version 12.6.9. I have updated, but there are two big problems.
1. When I click on the show content, it quickly shows and then automatically hides it again. When it is set to show by default, it will hide and show it again.
2. When viewing in mobile view – it does not work at all. (Shrink the browser to test it)
Check this page for details – TOC in left column.
https://www.stockchartpro.com/free-stock-charting-tools/
I have cleared the cache – deleted and re-added the widget – nothing works.
Hello Support Team,
Since updating to version 12.6.9, I have noticed an issue. Every time I load a page, a black-and-white screen appears for about 0.1 seconds before the actual content loads (see attached screenshot).
I suspect this might be related to the WP Super Cache plugin, which is also recommended by you. To troubleshoot, I have taken the following steps:
Deactivated WP Super Cache → The issue persists.
Cleared all cache (WP Super Cache & Cloudflare) → No improvement.
Reactivated WP Super Cache and cleared cache again → The problem remains.
This issue did not exist before the update. Could you please advise on what might be causing this and how to fix it?
Thank you for your support!
Best regards,
Greg

Hi,
After the last update, the search stopped showing the quick results, I think this has already been reported here and you are aware of the problem, but there is another problem that has been occurring for some time after some wordpress updates.
This problem is the mismatch of quick results in excluding results from categories that we don’t intend to appear in search, using plugins like https://pt.wordpress.org/plugins/search-exclude/
It used to work, but it stopped working, it only works in the final results of the page in “domain/?s=”.
I also take this opportunity to inform you that the file footer.php in the plugins/td-composer/mobile/ folder, has an extra blank line after the code “</html>”
Thank you
Hello,
Did you make a backup before updating the theme? You can roll back that backup. Also, did you disable extra plugins during the update?
Thank you!
Hi,
the last update broke the website and I’m trying to figure out if there is any repository for older versions of the template. after the update I miss the option to rollback so I need the full file package.
Is there any way to download? on themeforest there is the latest only.
Thanks
Hi,
Don’t you have a backup from before you did the update? I said to roll back to a backup, not just to the previous version of the theme. It’s always recommended to create a backup before any update—whether it’s for the theme or WordPress.
Thank you!
Hi, I’have bought a licence for allerenitalie.com.
I must make some update and development on it, so I need to manage on localhost.
BUT in localhost I have on it, so i cannot see Cloud Templates and so i cannot see properly editor.

How i can achieve that?
OK, I solved it following your suggestion. Thanks.
But now I have another problem: I created different templates for the categories but I can’t assign them anymore.
Let me explain better:
– I created 3 different category templates
– I enter category “X” and try to assign a certain type of template by clicking on the appropriate link
– the page reloads but the template hasn’t changed
Until yesterday everything was working correctly. Could this problem be due to the update to the new version of Newspaper?
Hi there, have just updated to the latest version. Awesome that BlueSky optens have been added to “social icons” but I was wondering if there’s also a plan to have them added to the “social share” feature?
Thanks,
Kaitlin
Hello good afternoon, a pleasure to greet you. I am writing because I am working in WordPress with the Newspapper 12 Theme. I am editing things in the Backend, but when I give SAVE ALL, it does not reflect it in the front-end, can you help me?
Do you have any info on why such a mess can happen?
We had the same problem over a bunch of websites. We were able to roll back most of them and after that the update went fine – but one site is still messed up, eg. some parts are missing colors and other settings. A rollback does not work here, only the missing local font was fixed by the backup.
Not working. Here is the updated file for your reference: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dQLCMqjT9zbWWRL88TfQfgt8fjZa3RmU/view?usp=sharing
Hello!
Unfortunately, I can’t see the screenshot. You need to optimize your website:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Here are some tips to help you enhance your WordPress site’s page speed:
Optimize Images: Compress images before uploading them to your WordPress site. You can use plugins like WP Smush or EWWW Image Optimizer to automatically optimize images without losing quality.
Utilize Caching: Implement caching to reduce server load and speed up page loading times. WordPress caching plugins like WP Super Cache, WP Rocket, or W3 Total Cache can generate static HTML files of your pages to serve users instead of dynamically generating them each time.
Minify CSS and JavaScript: Minify your CSS and JavaScript files to remove unnecessary characters and reduce file sizes. This can be done manually or through plugins like Autoptimize, WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.
Enable GZIP Compression: Enable GZIP compression on your server to reduce the size of files sent from your server to users’ browsers. Most hosting providers offer GZIP compression, but you can enable it through plugins like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.
Optimize Database: Regularly clean up and optimize your WordPress database to remove unnecessary data and improve performance. You can use plugins like WP-Optimize to automate this process.
Limit External Requests: Minimize the number of external requests your website makes by reducing the use of external scripts and widgets. Each external request adds overhead to your page’s loading time.
Enable Lazy Loading: Implement lazy loading for images, videos, and iframes so that they are only loaded when they are visible on the user’s screen. This can significantly reduce initial page loading times.
Optimize Server Response Time: Choose a reliable hosting provider with fast server response times. Consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to serve your content from servers closer to your users.
Regularly Update Plugins and Themes: Keep your WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated to the latest versions to ensure compatibility with the latest performance optimizations and security patches.
Ads can significantly impact the speed of your WordPress website since they often involve loading external resources and scripts. You can try to limit the number of ads, optimize ad sizes and formats, and implement lazy loading on your ads.
Limit the number of backups: https://app.screencast.com/M5Wco6Td6nymr
By following these tips, you can significantly improve the page speed of your WordPress website, leading to better user engagement, higher search engine rankings, and overall improved performance.
Thank you!
Hello,
I use the newspaper theme and I apply every new update. I read what innovations are in the yen version from our Changelog document. Each new feature and correction are specified in only one line. It is impossible to understand what happened here. There is a need for a guide describing this with examples. Isn’t there such a plan or thought. Or please let me know if you have.

Hello,
Please update the theme to the latest version, 12.6.9, because there was an issue with the Firefox browser.
Also, please provide some screenshots.
A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, and send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link; paste it here.
