Using version 9.1 of the theme may cause various problems with the latest WordPress. I believe there were modifications in the theme in order to fix issues with WordPress 5, versions 9.2 and above should work fine. We recommend that the latest theme be used when updates are available.

What exactly is happening after you update to 9.5? Try the FTP method which is the most reliable and recommended to update
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
After you update check in the theme plugins panel and update the theme plugins that require it – http://prntscr.com/mjx1th

That message you are receiving should not cause any problems. It can appear if for example you change the page template in the backend instead of the composer edit screen. It is not an error, so the page can be used normally in most cases.

Let us know if you have more questions or need help help.

Thanks

Hi,

Seems that is the case, two “article” are detected with the tool just as you say. I will make a note of it and pass it along to the developer team. Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed explanation.

The other issue you mention with the post-ID is already on our list. I should note that the AMP plugin is to receive modifications in coming updates, can’t provide specific information about it unfortunately. Chances are both these issues will be resolved. Please let us know if you have more questions or have something to add.

Thanks

Hi,

First please update to the last version of theme, Newspaper v9.5
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If you have child theme please deactivate it until you update/install the theme.
We recommend to be made via FTP.
Only in the last version is available this option.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,

There is a loading animation like this – http://prntscr.com/mjw8ql

Note that the auto load feature will be improved over future updates. There will be an option I believe to allow you to choose how soon will the next post load. So it will load before reaching the end of the currently viewed post, which is better.

Thanks

Don’t think it’s a plugin issue. It worked fine before theme update.
Also, block functions correctly when I am logged in.
I will send an email with admin login
Plus, I REALLY need all the plugins I have right now. Tried very hard to minimize the amount of plugins

Any update ?

Ok, thanks Catalin.
Will this be added in future theme updates?

A lot of people use iPads to view the site so would be handy. Makes the site looks broken otherwise.

It’s all updated. Now how do I use it for mobile.

I just tried to make a test page in Tagdiv Composer with several different blocks. The first load of the page is very slow – about 4-5 seconds. Then, as I understand it, my caching plugin catches it, and the second and all further loads are pretty fast for some time.
But if any changes of the site content happens (like new post was published), the page first load (after changes) became slow again, and I’m seeing a spike of this weird “Transactinos /page” in Newrelic. Our site is updating very often – so it gonna be a problem if we will use a page made in Composer as an index page.

This began after 9.5 updates. All caches were cleaned many times already. I don’t know what to do.

Hello,

I just updated my website to 9.5 and this is what I got. Not sure how it happened or why or how to fix it but felt you should be aware and ask you how to fix it. I was smart enough to have backed up my best so I easily restored it back but would like to update it to the most current 9.5 update with little to no work on my part.

I have updated the theme 9.5 now. However, when I click on TagDiv Composer to create a new page, I don’t see the mentioned ‘Orange Color’ Header Manager button on the left-hand side. Can you pls help.

I’ve never had a problem in the past getting my sites approved for Adsense however with this theme I am.

Here is the Adsense message:

Valuable inventory: Under construction
As stated in our Program policies, we may not show Google ads on pages or apps where content is unnecessarily difficult or frustrating to navigate or interact with. This includes pages or apps that are under construction, not functioning, or lead to error messages.

So I checked my site anfinson.ca with the new Google Search Console URL inspection tool. It tells me my page is not mobile friendly, clickable elements are too close together and content is wider than the screen. When I look at the errors, I can see why. Some of the theme CSS files are not being loaded. My robots.txt is set to allow the crawler to read everything except my admin login page.

I’m also getting a soft 404 error on this page. http://anfinson.ca/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/

I just updated the theme to 9.5 and am running the latest version of WordPress.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

@Simion,

Just wanted to put it out there. If there’s a chance to make Newspaper more user-friendly, if you don’t ask, you’ll never get. Tell the designers thanks for making Newspaper such a great feature-rich theme. Hope to see the toggles in a future update!

Thanks,

Jerrad

Hi,

You need to use the td mobile plugin that come with the theme version you are using, for example if you have Newspaper v9.1 the only mobile theme plugin that will work for you will be the one from that package.
So if you want you can update the theme to the last version 9.5 and use the mobile theme from the package that you have download or you check what version of newspaper you have and you send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and ask for mobile theme for your version of theme.

Thanks.

You still did not answer my questions:

  1. In the update from 9.2.2 to 9.5.0 was td_api_header_style::_helper_show_header(); deprecated?
  2. Do you keep track of deprecation of functions and methods in your theme?
Calin

Hi,

This update comes with the opportunity to build your own header, something that was not possible until now, so if you have in child theme changes make for header is possible that those now longer to work, that is way you’ll need to deactivate the child theme and after that try to install the theme.
What you can do is to change the header in child theme ( the old one with the new one).

Also if you make the theme update via FPT you’ll not lose the settings make in theme panel, will be lose only the changes made in theme files ( this is happen if you are using the envato plugin too ).

Thank you for your understanding!

First, thank you Simion for your answer, you guys doing great job.

It’s good to know “sort the loop elements” in your list but how I understand reading some documents or some post in this forum.. “from old to new” is not part of the wordpress philosophy. In that case, it won’t be my solution.

So, maybe you can provide some partial solution or some small codes.. that can be works for me (if it possible, sure).. I conform with this even if I need to modify after every update as before

Hi,

Yes this can be achieve with Newspaper v9.5, all you need to do is to edit the page with tagDiv Composer and set one header on the page after that do the same with the other pages

Hi,

So there is a notable difference after the update in the loading speed of the pages. I could take a look, please post a link to a page on you website.

Thanks

Hi,

This requirement/suggestion is already on our list of features, but unfortunately I can’t say when this will be implemented, we hope will be in coming updates.
