Hello Monica,
It seems to be a cache or CDN problem. Try to clear all of these, purge CDN files and check the results. I suggest you update the theme to the latest version of it if you want to achieve best theme results.
Thanks.
I think I was misunderstood! When inserting this css code then the Override ganaz will appear normal as I want it to be. If I choose the title background color with TD Composer and save it, then it will not be taken over, instead of the title background color will be displayed in black as mentioned above. As recommended by you, I made the theme update that did not help. Sure, that works with Css, but why is not that possible with TD Composer?
Hello Alex89,
Notice that after each theme update, all of your additional customizations will be lost. You should add again the code to the Theme panel and check the results. I do recommend you to make a full backup to your theme before each updating of the theme.
Thank for your understanding!
Update: i talked to the developer of video plugin and it works fir him but not for me, the theme is the problem he siads.
regards
Stephan
Hi,
That is quite an old theme version, much has changed since that version. Indeed that would be the thing to note. Once you update the tagDiv composer will be automatically activated. Visual composer elements in pages may not display properly if the tagDiv composer is active. Deactivate it and leave Visual composer (now WP Bakery page builder) active. Update Visual composer and there should be no issues
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
This is a guide to update the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
It is always recommended to keep the theme used, theme plugins and WordPress up to date. Updates will improve the functionality in many ways.
If you would then want to use the tagDiv composer, all pages will have to be recreated using it. The pages must only contain elements that belong to it.
Be sure to check if there are sufficient resources allocated for a optimal performance
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Check the theme system status and if needed ask your hosting provider to increase those parameters.
Le us know if you encounter any issues and we will try to help you as best we can.
Thanks
I understand, I thank you. I also tried to import the theme update by renaming it: in this way, I can directly activate the update without first activating another theme.
I noticed that widgets are no longer lost. It is not recommended as a procedure or is it ok?
So with the CSS code it works, have now updated the theme via FTP, but have the same result without the CSS code
For the moment there is only 1 inline article ad, we will try to add more in a future update. Adding more ads would be possible by using a plugin maybe, most users of the theme which require more ads or more advanced ad settings recommend the Adrotate plugin. Here is some documentation about it if you would like to take a look
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-manage-ads-in-wordpress-with-adrotate-plugin/
– https://ajdg.solutions/manuals/adrotate-manuals/show-adverts-on-your-site/
Or you could try other plugins that would allow the placement of more inline post content ads.
Hello.
It was a correction made in the theme and plugins.
Please use this guide to update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and
Please update your theme plugins as well. Deactivate and delete the current ones you use and then install them again from the 8.7.3 theme package.
Thank you!
Hi,
Sidebar content meaning widgets will be reset after a theme update, the widgets will be marked as inactive
– https://www.screencast.com/t/72fqAM4Y0
I believe WordPress treats the theme update the same as a theme change, and will move all widgets inside sidebars to the inactive area if that is what happened in your case. There is more information online that you can read in the matter.
So after the update you will have to drag the inactive widgets back in the sidebars and footer sections. They will maintain their previous configuration, simply re-add them.
Thanks
Hello,
Please use this guide to properly update the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!
Hi,
The custom CSS from the theme panel will be loaded after the theme stylesheet. You can also add custom CSS in a child theme stylesheet if you have one, or directly in the main theme stylesheet file.
If you add it in the main theme you will probably have to re-add it after a theme update, but this will ensure that the code is loaded faster, along with the theme style.
Thanks
Hi,
The theme uses a couple of default general fonts as default, most theme elements have options to customize the fonts, but this will have to be done individually for each element. These are the fonts the theme uses by default
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
I believe a general font option is planned to be added in a future update, for the moment it does not exist. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you!
Hello,
It seems you need to update your social counter plugin and then clear cache. Please disable the current social counter you use and then install it again from the new theme package (version 4.3)
Make sure you clear cache afterwards.
Thank you!
And if you want to change the Related Articles to other thumbnails that you have turned on under the Theme Panel->Block Settings:
Edit td-amp/templates/modules/td_module_amp_1.php and change the dimensions on line 19. I changed mine to 238×178 because that’s the one I’ve enabled:
echo $this->get_image(‘td_238x178’);
NOTE: These modifications will be gone if there’s a new plugin update and you overwrite the file. Just a reminder.
First of all, great work on having your own working and optimised AMP plugin 🙂 I’ve switched from using the Automattic AMP plugin to this one on my site.
Some feedback from myself – I know it’s still an initial version so I understand more updates will be coming, but here they are:
- On the /amp page, the search icon/button on the top right links to the WordPress Address URL, and not the Site Address URL (i.e I have my WordPress files in a folder structure, so the search icon goes to 404).
- The Related Articles on the /amp page are using 300×194. Hoping there are more options on the administration panel to either disable thumbnails, or use other dimensions? For example if I visit my site on a mobile (regular page, and not the /amp page), the Related Articles are using a different thumbnail dimension/block
- There is an empty “About Us” section on the Footer of the /amp page. This is probably my fault for not knowing where should I enter the information in 🙂
For those who want to “hack” or edit the plugin files and know a bit of PHP:
- Change search URL: under td-amp/templates/header-bar.php, change “site_url” to “home_url” on line 22
- Disable About Us on Footer: under td-amp/templates/footer.php, comment out line 46 (add a ‘//’ in front of the About Us print-out line)
1. That’s some good news and I like the direction the Newspaper theme is taking. Can’t wait to see how that major update turns out.
2. I have never seen that demo before. Let me check it out. I was thinking of doing an update and use a minimal design instead. Will try it out. Thanks.
Just noticed that our footer has suddenly become full width with some formatting changes without making any config updates at our end. Was there any code change done on Newspaper theme’s backend ? Please mention if we can make any changes in theme panel or custom code to restore it back to its original template.
Thanks.
Thanks Catalin. It says to download it, do I just download it and then re-install it again? It’s not like a plugin where I just update it within the WordPress dashboard?
In the previous post about the Instagram issue I already wrote the situation, your answer is just below mine, you wrote you close the topic and we should create another ticket if the matter is not resolved.
And here we are.
So yes, I did all that, as I wrote it there already I updated to the latest version and yes I followed up the documentation… maybe you didn’t read it?
So what should my provider look for? My provider says it is not them and you say it is not you?
Where does that leave me? It is no fun to be send back and forth all the time.
So if you can provide me at least with information that I can hand over to my host where they should look at if it is not you, that would really help, so that they fix this issue….
Thank you
Stefan
It turns out it was the child theme that I had created that was causing the problem. I updated the theme and generated a new child theme and the logo is back.
Can I update theme from this API or not? http://www.jamesfrasure.com/tagDiv-ScreenShot-A1.jpg
Hi, I would know a list of data that will disappear if I update newspaper throught wordpress.
In your articles guide you wrote “Don’t worry, your content will not be lost”.
However during last update a lot of widget related to newspaper 8 disappeared, like social counter (and I discoverd that this problem happened because, to activate the update, i have to delete the old newspaper and temporanely activate another theme).
So, how could I update theme withouth lose widgets or other? If I rename the zip update could I activate directly the new version of theme withouth lose anything?
Hello libraeditrice,
Please check our theme requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Please also update your tag div composer plugin by deleting the current one you have and installing it again from the 8.7.3 package.
if that does not fix the issue, you can try to add this code to your .htaccess:
<IfModule mod_substitute.c>
SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
</IfModule>
Thank you!
All my plugins are always updated and still I get blank page on dashboard when I upgrade to latest version of newspaper theme.
