HI
To achieve that you need to edit the file corresponding with post template used and echo out there one of theme’s ad-spots. First you need to get ad’s shortcode from Visual Composer. Add an ad-box on a blank page, chose the desired ad-spot, press CLASSIC MODE button and copy the shortcode: http://screencast.com/t/CvyiAdvTo then paste it here: http://screencast.com/t/SAp89QNhaOEK
In above example I’ve used custom ad 1 on post template 1, but you can use any ad-spot from theme panel.
Thanks!
Hi
The theme use the same file to generate the footer on mobile and desktop. If the problem is still there try to deactivate all plugins excerpt Visual Composer and Jetpack, clear all caches then test again.
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately our theme does not allow the customization of the category pages beyond the category settings found here: http://screencast.com/t/mIburmESO49F You cannot use visual composer on category pages so there is no way to add elements from the theme settings.
You will have to edit the theme files and use a do_shortcode function. Please follow this guide for an example of how it can be done: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/adspace-in-category/
Thank you!
Hi
On mobile devices the site loads really slow, here can be seen the result from google page-speed toll: http://screencast.com/t/CzzRX1JO This affect user experience and some times the browser will stop page’s load it takes to mush time until the server responds. Try to optimize the site following our documentation. also try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer, clear all caches then test again.
Thanks!
Hi,
according to the Visual Composer tutorial (https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/) there should be some predefined layouts.
When you create a New Page you can easily select one of the predefined layouts depending on your needs.
But all of the mentioned “homepage” templates is missing. There is a lot of other templates there, but not the homepages ones. Is it something ive done wrong? There is “about” templates, “articles” templates but no homepage or homepage – sport template etc.
Ive tried uninstalling and installing both theme and Visual Composer without any change.
Hi,
What Visual Composer version do you use?
If it is the latest version 4.12 please check this without any other plugins active except Visual Composer and see if it works. I suspect that it is a plugin which conflicts with it.
Let us know how it goes and if you still have issues please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a closer look. Also paste a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hi,
You can read more about the mobile theme plugin here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ It comes with its own templates and it was not designed to work with Visual Composer so there are no blocks that could be used on mobile theme. Please note that it is an optional plugin and if you’d like the same content that you have on desktop, you can disable it.
If you load Swedish language from theme translation system, all the theme’s strings will be translated also on mobile devices, even if you use or not the Mobile Theme plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/loading-translations/ Or you can translate Latest Articles manually – https://forum.tagdiv.com/customize-a-translation/ – http://screencast.com/t/tkQytPCWlR3K I have checked this on my side an did not found any issues – http://screencast.com/t/VmsrmdXPLxy
I suggest to use the recommended size for mobile logo – http://screencast.com/t/amS1BHog4
However if you want to use it like it is know I will provide a css code to increase its size – http://screencast.com/t/l6Nj75et
@media(max-width: 767px) {
div.td-main-menu-logo img {
max-width: 186px;
}
}
Thanks!
Hi,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer. clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. It could be a plugin conflict. If the problem is still there, please provide more details about the element as our theme does not have a featured posts widget(there is a featured post sorting option for blocks but not a stand-alone widget). Please also provide a link to your site so we can inspect the element.
Thank you!
Hello,
I’m not sure what a “default” page is. Are you maybe referring to the homepage? If this is the case, then you can use a slider element from visual composer and add it to your page: http://screencast.com/t/UHkauQ3yT
Here is an example of the slides used in our theme:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/
Thank you!
Hi,
Is there any Visitors Counter I can use with the Visual Composer?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Unfortunately our theme has no such option. You can use visual composer on posts and add a block between post content, or add it in the theme files to show on each post with a do_shortcode function. https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/do_shortcode/
And then use visual composer shortcodes to add content to posts template files. You can fiond the post template files in the main root folder of the theme: http://screencast.com/t/cvDnyotuhS
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
HI
You don’t need any license key for Visual Composer, the plugin comes bundled with the theme and can be used under theme’s license.
For server configuration please check this link: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks!
Hello,
Before we request the login info please try one thing. Newspaper 7.3 requires version 4.12 of visual composer to work properly. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ and make sure your version of visual composer is 4.12
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello Piyush Bandi,
Please notice that your version of Visual Composer is outdated. First of all, please download the latest version of the Envato Market using your account and then install the theme via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Then, you will have to remove the old version of the Visual Composer and install the version which comes bundled with the latest version of the theme (->Newspaper 7.3 with Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1), clear all your caches and check the results. For more information about how you can update your Visual Composer, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please notice that you will have to keep the step with each updating of the theme.
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hello ttalleur,
Please try to update the theme to the latest version of it (Newspaper 7.3) and also, please ensure that you have fully installed all the required plugins to the latest version of them (Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1), clear all your caches and test it again. Also, if your problem is still there after this advice, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Notice that the theme update should be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. For more references in this regard, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
HI
You don’t need a license key for Visual Composer as the plugin comes bundles with the theme. Do you say that you can’t edit pages with Visual Composer? If that happens it’s most likely because of a conflict with some other plugin. Try to deactivate all plugins except VC, clear all caches then test again.
Let us now how it goes.
Thanks!
Hello sniperetn,
Please notice that the Mobile Theme is different from the default mobile responsiveness which displays the homepage from desktop mode. As you can see, our mobile theme has a basic structure which intends to display the Big Grid (which render only the posts from Featured Category), some text which is added in the Mobile Editor and the Latest Articles Modules at the bottom of the homepage. Our mobile concept does not recognize the Visual Composer shortcode and this has been designed to be very fast, clear and easy to use. For more information about mobile theme, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
I hope that you understood the concept.
Thanks.
Hi there.
Im doing my 1st web ever, and i bought your theme. Im amazed, good job. But i have some problems with the “phone display”. Im in love/hate with the mobile theme, so maybe you can help me out:
1- I really love the mobile theme in terms of the POSTS. Its really clean, and no sidebar showing up (which i consider innecesary on phones). Everything is clear and fast.
BUT! The homepage… its waay simple for me. I know are able only to put the grid to features posts, and the “last articles”. But im missing so much things, even the slider revolution which gives nice visual.
In the other hand, if i desactivate the mobile theme plugin, i really like the homepage shown, but the Posts are way more chaotic with the sidebar in the botton. Even for Ads, i think is way simpler to add them with the plugin On.
So… what can i do? I mean, there is a way to have everything set up with the plugin, except the homepage? Or is just impossible?
2- I didnt want some social icons, so i read the forum and found that CSS text which hide the unnecesary ones.
The problem is, when i update the POST in the mobile (with NO PLUGIN), it shows all the icons for 1 second, and then it hides the unnecesary ones. Call me maniac, but i really dont like that xD
Notice that if i activate the mobile theme plugin, go to theme panel->mobile theme->custom CSS and put the code, when i refresh the post its perfect. It doesnt show anything else than the icons i want.
And in the desktop, it depends. Sometimes it show them for 0.5 secs only, and then dissapear.
How can i solve this? Instead of hiding the icons that i dont want, its possible delete them? Maybe i have no issues if i do that. (I know is a bit of maniac, but…xD)
3- As i said in point 1, i really dont like sidebars on phone view. Thats why i want the mobile theme plugin (for me perfect in 95%) with the homepage from desktop version.
In case you cannot provide me a solution, ill have to put the sidebar. My intention was to put 1-2 Ads (from adsense) on that spot, in post pages. But i want to have a smart sidebar, cause my posts are long and it feels empty when you start to go down on the web and see nothing on the right.
But i read that i cannot put adsense on smartsidebar, so… my question is. Can i put on static ad from adsense in the begining of the sidebar (like a normal sidebar), and then a smart sidebar which goes down when you are reading?
I dont know if i express good enough: I want a post page. With a add in the beginning of the sidebar side, static, in the up side. And just below that add, one smart sidebar (with social counters, blocks, etc…) which goes down keeping always the right side “busy”. But the Add is staying in the up side.
———————–
Sorry for all the wall of text, and sorry for my poor english.
Thanks in advance. I really hope for a positive solution for the point 1 🙂
Hi,
You can use visual composer elements to create a photography presentation. You can also use a gallery: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-aston-villa-beat-liverpool-to-join-arsenal-in-the-fa-cup-final/
Unfortunately for the attachment template, our theme does not provide any customization settings apart from the sidebar.
Thank you!
Hello wolvering,
I have checked your website and your source page and I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins which might interact with the code of the theme and cause a lot of unknown issues. First of all, please try to disable the lazy load from Theme panel and check the results. Also, if your problem is still there, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello flameblue59,
Look at this -> http://screencast.com/t/7oJ4tp0q Update your Visual Composer because is required. For more information about how you can update the Visual Composer, check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Thomas,
Unfortunately, the mobile theme has not been designed to recognize all the Visual Composer shortcode because this concept has been thought to have very basic structure, clear, fast and use for using. Please notice that mobile theme is an optional plugin which can be used or not. If you are unhappy with it, you can simply disable the mobile plugin and the theme will be switched to the general mobile mode.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
I have checked this on my side and did not found any issues by adding and removing the categories for Post Grid element.
Please make sure you use the latest theme version 7.3 and the latest version of Visual Composer provided with the theme 4.12. Also check this without any plugins active except Visual Composer and see if the issue persist.
If you still have issues please create a test page and send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access and a link to that test page(to not affect your other pages) and we will take a look. Also paste a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Alin V.
Hi again Bogdan,
You can use css to add it in but it will not position the same on each post template as the containers are different. Also it will not work on pages that do not have a standard sidebar but rather a split row created in visual composer.
Unfortunately this is not a viable solution as there are many implications. On our newsmag theme we have a border system implemented but unfortunately it is pretty complex and hard to replicate on the newspaper theme. You will need a developer to do it properly and address all of the potential problems. It will be no easy task I’m afraid
Thanks.
Bogdan B.
Hi,
Sorry, I thought the breadcrumb ‘home’ is the one you want to remove. You can simply chose another page template like the default one which will not show the title if visual composer is used http://screencast.com/t/Bo4JCPyN or as an alternative, you can use this css:
.home .td-page-title{
display:none!important;
}
Thanks.
