Hello !

Please note that this option is not available with Newspaper Theme. You will have to use a plugin for that. We recommend using WPML Plugin in order to achieve multiple languages on your page.

Thank you !

I resolve the issue by creating another single post template and translate the tdb_template_ in WPML via Sting Translation

Hello Team,
Please I need your help!
I’ve follow these steps https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/wpml-theme-translate-logo/ to translate logo using WPML. “You will have to access the string translation here
https://www.screencast.com/t/3zq8hc1W1
Search for the td_011 referrence
https://www.screencast.com/t/s4XAEmUt
Inside that search for the tds_logo_upload term and select it
https://www.screencast.com/t/0YEf3pKvC
Then click on apply on the bottom of the page
https://www.screencast.com/t/9WAqjMwmYrvd
That field will appear in the suggested screen, where you can set a different logo
https://www.screencast.com/t/9vps6Mep2L
That logo will appear in translated pages/posts etc.”
PROBLEM
The problem is that when I tick tds_logo_upload (like this https://prnt.sc/qgu3fs) and save it (like this https://prnt.sc/qgu3ni) I do not see it do not display in admin_text_td_011 (this is what appears https://prnt.sc/qgu38a
so no place for tds_logo_upload) .
Please Help me so that it can appears so that i Can translate it. I use different domain name per language.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

You can translate pages and posts as mentioned in this guide
https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/create-multilingual-wordpress-websites-using-the-newspaper-theme-and-wpml/

So for example you can craete the post in the main language, set the subtitle text as you want it – https://prnt.sc/q5g68j
Then translate the post in the other languages and add the desired subtitle
https://prnt.sc/q5g6yqhttps://prnt.sc/q5g77h
Each translated post can have it’s own subtitle, source/via, post template etc. It is like creating a new post/page. They will be switched when the language is switched.
If you have more questions let us know.

Thank you!

Hi. I’m using the latest WPML plugin and Newspaper X. I added some Spotify links in my post in my default language and worked perfectly fine. But when I translated the post with WPML’s editor (I just copy the original content the “translated” version), some embedding attempts failed and turned out to be pure text.

For instance, if I wanted to embed a Spotify playlist, I just copied the link in Gutenberg. The HTML code of the post would be:
<p>https://open.spotify.com/user/user_id/playlist/playlist_id</p>
But I wanted it to be center aligned, so I modified it to:
<p align="center">https://open.spotify.com/user/user_id/playlist/playlist_id</p>
And Gutenberg would convert it to iframe automatically. The above worked perfectly fine in the default language version.

After translation, the source codes of all my posts looked the same. However, some of my posts worked fine, while others turned out to like this instead of iframe when I open it in Chrome:
<p align="center">https://open.spotify.com/user/user_id/playlist/playlist_id</p>

I’m totally confused and can’t figure out if this is compatibility problem with Newspaper. Please help. Thanks a lot.

Hi. I’m using WPML with Newspaper X. I noticed that when I translated a post in WPML’S editor, it did not provide the “subtitle” field, aka the text appearing under the title. Do I have to using Gutenberg to add that value for multilingual version instead of WPML’s editor? This is really annoying. Thanks.

Hi. I’m currently using the Gaming Demo, and do not use any Cloud Template for header. I’d like to add a WPML language switcher in the header. How can I achieve that?
I tried to add the switcher in the main menu for header. But it sometimes did not show up or sometimes did not provide a dropdown. Please help with this.

Hi. I’m using a customized Gaming Demo. Specifically, I’m using a customized Homepage template page and a footer template page, and I want to translate theme into other languages. I followed this guide but when I close the tagDiv Composer as it instructed, it did NOT take me to the default WordPress editing screen but directly to Pages page of wp-admin. What exactly should I do to translate a page created by TD composer? Looking forward to your reply.

Hi,

Unfortunately our theme do not have this option, this can be achieve only using some plugins, usually we recommend WPML plugin because this is a tested plugin, , maybe there are other plugins too that can achieve this.

Thank you!

Hi,

Unfortunately we did not tested the Popylang plugin and therefore, we cannot say for sure if it will work or not as expected with the theme, sorry! Also, we cannot provide support for untested plugins.
Usually we recommend WPML plugin because this is a tested plugin.

Thank you!

Hi, there. It is kind of an urgent situation. I would like to use the Gaming Demo for my website so I just installed it. And I want to make a multilingual website with WPML, so I have bought the plugin. However, I cannot figure out how to set different fonts for headers of different languages. For instance, Lato for English version of my website and Noto Serif TC for Chinese. I am aware that I can get a header template from the Cloud Library, but the Gaming Demo has not yet provided a header template. So what should I do now? Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you, Simion. I understand the process of translating the pages but it seems that WPML does not recognize the elements on the page to allow me to translate existing pages in English into Chinese.

Working with WPML’s support team, they believe the issue is that the shortcode used by elements in the TD Composer is not being recognized by WPML and that I will need to add code in the WPML XML Editor in order to make this work. Here are the steps I am being told I need to take: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/page-builders/how-to-register-page-builder-modules-and-theme-options/

Did WPML work before without requiring this additional step in the past? Did this change after the recent update to the Newspaper 10 theme? I only ask because I’m hoping there is a simpler path to resolving this then following steps in their support article.

I found documentation on WPML site (https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/create-multilingual-wordpress-websites-using-the-newspaper-theme-and-wpml/) and it looks like I will need to declare the shortcodes used by TD Composer so that it can translate the individual elements. Is there any documentation on what the shortcodes are for the various elements used by TD Composer?

Hello!

After AMP activation and 2 light updates of WPML add-ons, the post template options disappeared in the editor. The same issue when editing an existing article or creating a new one. The website is https://gorunsworld.com

Thank you!

I’m trying to use the WPML plugin to translate our site, mp.adcreview.com, into simplified Chinese. I would like to use their translation of page content and post content. With page content that has multiple elements, none of the content from the elements are available for translation using their Advanced Translation Editor. The only that can be translated is the page title. Did I miss a setting that allows WPML to translate content on pages?

!Update!

I imported pro cloud template. Edited it, trying to add translation via WPML, it shows duplicate design in the td composer as in the image. https://pasteboard.co/IHyOnqD.png

I can not select template based on language from the theme panel. so it is either turkish or english.

Hi

From the string translation panel of WPML, we translated the strings as seen in the images
https://pasteboard.co/IHwKnY4.png
https://pasteboard.co/IHwKu8R.png

But it doesnt have any effect. We also translated those elements from the theme panel but no luck.

Since we have around 10 categories and individual side bars for each of them, translating the elements from the tagdiv builder is no help.

Thanks

Hi. I wonder if Newspaper X is compatible with Polylang. I’m well informed that WPML is tested but it is a waste of money for my website, for the free version of Polylang has met my need and I have been using it even before I purchased Newspaper theme. Thanks.

Hi,

So you would like to display a different footer page for the other languages, that is possible. This is a similar topic that you can follow

If you have more questions let me know.

Thanks

I am trying to: Get footers to load consistently across all languages

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: https://dev.pressklub.az/?lang=ru
A correct footer can be seen at: https://dev.pressklub.az/

I expected to see: The translated version of the footer page

Instead, I got: The default theme loaded footer

Additional Notes: Tagdiv Newspaper theme has a setting for a designated footer page or a footer that Tagdiv places in automatically, on english and Azerbaijani, the footer file loads correctly, on Russian it is not being replaced by the page, despite a correct translation existing for it.

Hello,

If you want to have a multi-language website, then you’ll need to use some plugins as WPML plugin.
If this is not what you mean, please provide some more details about that you want to achieve.

Thank you!

Eu imaginava que era um função do proprio plugin (Polylang).

Mesmo assim perguntei pois queria saber se já desenvolveram alguma solução para este problema, já que o plugin WPML é pago.

Se tiver alguma informação que possa ajudar, eu agradeço.

Obrigado pela atenção.
