1) Sorry for the lack of info, I’ve since solved this.
2) We are using WPML and the latest theme and wordpress versions.
Hello Digital chaos,
1)you should provide some useful screenshots with the error because I do not exactly understand the problem. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme.
2)Sorry but I do not know what kind of plugin you are using for language. Notice that we recommend the WPML plugin for this.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello najarfermin,
You can try using the WPML multilingual plugin according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
I use the Custom HTML widget including the mc4wp_form id to show “Receive our newsletter” in the sidebar of my posts. This works well in the Dutch WPML switch: https://next.blue/2018/05/29/zeespiegelstijging-in-nederland-maken-ze-juist-een-gat-in-de-dijk/. However, the 2 fields are too close to each other in the English version of the posts, like you can see here: https://next.blue/en/2018/05/29/the-dutch-solution-to-sea-level-rise-make-holes-in-the-dikes/.
How to solve this issue?
Thanks
Thanks for you reply.
1. Exactly, the posts do not exist. The issue happens when WPML is active. So it must be some compatibility issue with the translation plugin. Would you mind to do a deeper look on it?Thanks. How can I provide the access details?
2. It is properly translated, as you can see by the biographical boxes. (see images).

– https://www.dropbox.com/s/ns226bz0evynun5/2065435-author_ok.jpg?dl=0
1. That way it works, I can now access the website properly. I checked the more from author on on of your posts, it seems to display posts in other languages as well. Those posts are not found however (404)
– https://www.screencast.com/t/lYiYdpbYF
You could check the posts page and see if those posts actually exist. That section is supposed to display more posts that have the same author only.
2. That would be the description field. Maybe you can double check if you translated that properly

Hello,
Sorry but the official tested and recommended plugin to use for a multi-lingual site is WPML. Polylang is not tested and we cannot say for sure if it will work properly or not.
Thank you!
WPML is not working well for widgets. When two widgets of same type and different languages, It show two for both language. I tried to use two widget with different languages but it will show for widgets.
I have contacted with WPML support. They suggest the following fix:
To fix the issue, could you please go to wp-content/themes/NewsPaper/includes/wp_booster/td_wp_booster_functions.php line no. 2597 and change the following code
add_filter(‘widget_display_callback’, ‘on_widget_display_callback’, 10, 3);
to
add_filter(‘widget_display_callback’, ‘on_widget_display_callback’, 11, 3);
The issue has been solved
UPDATE:
REMAIN THE ISSUES:
1. “More from author” (bottom of posts)
My “more from author” (related articles) tab is going crazy.. showing up links for posts in the other site language and missing/or not identified posts. [ https://www.dropbox.com/s/aks3dohs1uoon3c/Renewing%20EU%20and%20US%20Soft%20Power%20in%20Central%20Asia%20%20%20EUCAM.png?dl=0 ]
2. Author’s page translation string does not work
I translated strings for some authors but it doesn’t show on author’s pages: http://eucentralasia.eu/ru/author/sebastienpeyrouse/ However, it shows under posts (bio boxes): http://eucentralasia.eu/ru/2014/06/how-does-central-asia-view-the-eu-ru/
3. Please disregard this issue >> Research & Publications Mega Menu bug:
When logged out of the backend, I hover over Research&Pubs in RU, All publications section loads correctly once. I go to Брифинги, it loads EN policy briefs, the same for working papers. Then All publications section preview stops loading altogether. Once again, it happens only when I am logged out”
I just found out the solution for the MegaMenu issue. Was a setting missed in wpml. » » [Store a language cookie to support language filtering for AJAX]

Hello,
If you want to have a clone version of your theme in another language, you should use the WPML plugin. Please check here -> https://wpml.org/forums/topic/change-fonts-by-language
Regarding on this image -> https://www.screencast.com/t/oMCW8LBp5J I guess that you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues. Remove all of these, clear all the caches, press CTRL+SHIFT+R and check the results.
Thanks.
Hello,
Sorry but we have not tested such a customization in our themes to change fonts based on language. Our theme has only 1 fonts section and not different ones for different languages. You can give wpml a shot and follow this topic: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/change-fonts-by-language
Thanks.
Hello, i would like to know what is the best way to load the specified fonts regarding the language i want. For example, Greek will load Open Sans, Russian will load Montserrat, Turkish will load Montserrat, etc.. I’m using this way in my website, but it seems that when i change page , different from the homepage it doesn’t load the fonts i have uploaded to my server and seems to have an error 404. In this image (https://snag.gy/jTSc1q.jpg) is where my style-sheet css is located, in which there are the @font-face rules for each css file. I have the following code in my header section
<head>
<?php if(ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == ‘en’){ ?>
<link rel=’stylesheet’ href=’wp-content/themes/fonts/stylesheet.css’ type=’text/css’ media=’all’ />
<?php } elseif(ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == ‘ru’){ ?>
<link rel=’stylesheet’ href=’wp-content/themes/fonts/stylesheet.css’ media=’all’ />
<?php } elseif(ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == ‘tu’){ ?>
<link rel=’stylesheet’ href=’wp-content/themes/fonts/stylesheet.css’ type=’text/css’ media=’all’ />
<?php } elseif(ICL_LANGUAGE_CODE == ‘el’){ ?>
<link rel=’stylesheet’ href=’wp-content/themes/fonts/stylesheet.css’ type=’text/css’ media=’all’ />
<?php } ?>
</head>
and after that i have some extra css in my theme panel which says for all the td-rows load the fonts, so that i overwrite existing fonts , that maybe are initialized by default.
.td-header-row {font-family:’Montserrat’;}
:lang(el) {font-family:’Comfortaa’;}
:lang(zh-Hant) {font-family:’source-han-sans-traditional’;}
:lang(ru) {font-family:’Montserrat’;}
:lang(tr) {font-family:’Montserrat’;}
:lang(en) {font-family:’Montserrat’;}
Do you have any better suggestion?

Hi, i’ve a doubt about translating pages. I have a site with the Spanish main language and i want to have the translation in English. I’ve installed WPMl. With the translations of the post, i have no problems. But i’m having problems with the pages translation. I’ve yet deleted the Visual Composer and only work with Tagdiv Composer. My doubt is:
a) Have i to create one Spanish page in tagdiv composer, and translate to English the fields thats WPML lets me, and after go to tagdiv composer and translate the remain English fields?
b) Or i have to create one Spanish page in tagdiv composer, and another English one, also in tagdiv composer, and assign this English version to the first Spanish version?
Which is the right way?
Problem solved once removed WPML! Lucky that the client finally will work in one language… thanks
Hello joep,
I inspected your homepage and I saw that you are using some untested plugins which are not tested with our theme and also, we do not know the plugin’s functionality, sorry! Regarding on this section -> https://www.screencast.com/t/twyhRjJKJ I saw that you are using a shortcode which is added to our TD Composer element – column text and which cannot be translated by the WPML because it’s just a shortcode. You should manually translate from the plugin and make another shortcode with the translated version but I do not know how will work, sorry! This case is not theme related and also, we cannot help you because these plugins are not tested with the theme and we do not know their behavior and functionality, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
I’m using WPML to have english and frenh version of my website.
When i select a language for a widget display (english for example), WP automatically reselect “all languages”
How can i fix it ?
Thanks for your great support so far!
I made my website http://www.next.blue pages by using TagDiv Composer and checked your documentation on https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/create-multilingual-wordpress-websites-using-the-newspaper-theme-and-wpml/.
All pages and posts went well with WPML except my Home – Front page (screenshot -1). There are only 2 items on my Home page to translate: Page Builder Page 306 related to 2 plugins: TotalPoll and SmartSlider3 (screenshot-2). However I used many TagDiv blocks and buttons etc. How to translate these items on my Home page?
https://www.screencast.com/t/ep3Z687S5VT
Hope you can help me to solve this issue.
Thanks
Hi,
The Newspaper theme works well with WPML, except the translation of my Home page or front page developed with TagDiv Composer (www.next.blue). There is no option available to translate Tag Div Composer items like blocks. There is only one Home page item I could translate: Page Builder Page 306. Any suggestions how to solve this issue?
Thanks
Hello lucchinifederico,-
You should use the code below and place it in the Theme panel -> Custom CSS are.
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-wpml .menu-top-container .top-header-menu > li {
display: inline!important;
}
}
The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/5wvDmL8j0oHX
Thanks for the message!
I couldn’t say, it is the same for me i my tests. I too have tested with a category and translated category with WPML. I have added posts on both categories, but they are not displayed once I filtered the block in my case. Maybe this is not possible to not intended to work from the beginning.
I will however make a note of this and add in on our list. it will be looked over by our team at some point. I cannot promise anything in the matter.
Ok, so I have found the solution in a different topic on WPML for Storefront theme, but the steps are quite similar: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/different-logos-for-different-languages-with-stoefront
Hello,
how can I translate Logo (logo image url) in Newspaper theme? I have followed the steps at WPML https://wpml.org/forums/topic/logo-translation-4/, but it seems to not work with the Newspaper theme.
As you state on ThemeForest.net the theme is WPML compatible, so can you help me to solve this?
So I have one post for a “Happening Now” Category that I want to display (when authors select this as primary, secondary or so…). Also working with WPML so category “Happening Now” has ID 40, and in other languages 44, 45.
Case 1) When my configuration in TD Composer for the Slider is just “All Categories” the slider is displaying 3 post, obviously from different categories but also languages:
http://prntscr.com/j48e5l – http://prntscr.com/j48gq0
Case 2) When I select “Happening Now” doesn´t display anything.
Case 3) When I choose the optin multiple categories filter 40,44,45 it doesn´t show anything also.
Is there anything that I’m doing wrong?
