Make sure that you are using the latest theme version installed via FTP way, disable all of the untested plugins and check the results. By default, the theme works as expected without any problems.

After you register the custom field as a post meta you can use its value in a variable depending on the desired result. Notice that our theme support shortcodes in that areas but the shortcodes should have to be generated by some tested plugins, like (Visual Composer or TD Composer, Rev Slider, Social Counter). So, if you are using the shortcodes generated by another untested plugin, keep in mind that we cannot say for sure if all of these will work as expected or not, sorry!

If you want to follow the Google Algorithm you should simply disable the Mobile Theme and then, the theme will be automatically switched to the general responsive layout and you will have the same content for any type of devices. Notice that the Mobile Theme is an optional plugin which gives you more opportunities to increase your page speed loading on mobile and also, gives you more option for your website on mobile devices.

I saw that you want to use WordPress 4.9, which is the latest version of the CMS (WordPress) but the theme you will not want to update, why? Notice that it will not work in that way. Everything will have to be updated, sorry!
Seems that your theme’s version is too old and the only way, in this case, is to update the theme to that latest version of it.
