Upload your new newspaper zip

Activate your new newspaper theme

Them read about how to update plugins for the theme

You don’t just upload and overwrite the theme you can’t have two instances of it at the same time

Yes randomly – but with PRO is also adds a ‘weighting’ option if you need it

See westbridgfordwire.com – Header and Leaderboard (under header) ads on the site are embedded AdRotate ‘groups’ with a random rotate applied every 8 seconds – the AdRotate shortcodes are added to the Theme Panel (TagDiv) Ads sections.

Sidebar are a mix of AdRotate ‘single’ and’group’ in AdRotate widgets – the only issue is a ‘jumping’ on mobile, but there’s an easy ‘plugin edit’ from the dashboard that can stop this issue. You may not experience this anyway.

I may be wrong and the experts may be better – but this happened to me once and was a CDN issue – either MAXCDN or Cloudflare – on Chrome only just exactly the same – are you using those?

Well in the end I went for Yoast Glue – WP Auttomatic AMP AND PageFrog – saw the combo recommended (then saw you warn about PF today) but it is all working well – logo/images/previews so will see if they come through ok

If it helps I’ve used AdRotate free or PRO since getting the theme and its faultless with it – I ise a mix of tagdiv ad blocks via VC and Theme Panel – and sidebar boxes via AdRotate widgets either ‘Single’ or ‘Group’ which allows rotation – free version is well supported – PRO gives stats for clients etc etc

Do you feel that Yoast 3.0 is still the best to use with the theme, I’m still on 2.3.5 because there have been so many horror stories about 3.x.x etc?

Heard good things about other plugins but I know you recommend Yoast (WordPressSEO) – would you advice just install 3.x.x and rollback of a problem? Any other users have experience of its performance on Newspaper6

Update : Published a fresh post to go in the gird – still no change – there are girds on my category pages too – they all work perfectly – but when hovering on any story on home page grid – browser link shows westbridgfordwire.com not full url

I hope you didn’t give up – I bought the theme two years ago – panicked – got a refund.

Then bought it again!

But I had always loved it from afar you see -I researched and researched while using my other theme -and with GoDaddy I had a ‘staging environment’ it’s a simple clone of your site where you can play with changes – I changed the theme there and found it actually is easy to do a simple set up. Then copied it back to live. All easy is you relax and research. I still don;t know much and plan to improve the rest of the capabilities as time goes on.

The customs CSS study isn’t necessary yet – but you’ll soon see it’s just a copy/paste thing if you do take any customisation ideas from the forum. The theme is as advanced as you want it to be – but it makes your site fly in loads of ways.

Yes that’s ok no need for that plugin anyway now – I should have been clearer – it’s just on smartphone the template 8 doesn’t show properly in portrait mode.

The mobile problem with the template 8 still exists – yet I now do not use the plugin that caused the original issue (Estatik) could you re-check for any other conflicts love the template 🙂

I cleared cache between attempts and restarted browsers etc. Will try on a different mobile browser to Safari too. On iOS 9.1

To change the news ticker title – go to Theme Panel > Translations – you can edit many words and titles in here

Simply type your new title and save settings

Just a note: having tested again the problem affects portrait on tablet and smartphone – landscape renders perfectly- perhaps there is a solution now we know the issue?

No other templates are affected
