Thanks Chris for all this feedback and updates on this. I’ve tested this myself and found that on some older posts the description is actually pulled by google and it works fine using Yoast’s og:description meta, however on some other posts it doesn’t even though the description tag is present. This is strange as the seems to have the same open graph tags and the same structure the g+ sharer doesn’t add the description.
We’ll dig a little deeper into this and see if we find a reason or a fix on this in next theme versions.

Unfortunately we don’t plan to change the theme’s grid width and this is not an easy job so if you need this you’d have to hide a developer to make the necessary modifications for you as we cannot offer custom work at the moment so we can’t do it for you (please let me know if this isn’t what you’ve asked as I’m not sure you refer to the grid’s width).

The newspaper theme’s grid will also be changed starting with it’s fifth version, from 1170px to around 1068px and the big grid’s large image can’t be set as a slider using theme’s settings, I’ll consider this a suggestion for future version.

The VC shot-codes aren’t appearing in the search result’s by default. I’ve tested this using the latest theme version: http://screencast.com/t/1WQIaSQg – http://screencast.com/t/Q8mu3bD8k – all this are homepages so if the short-codes would appear on search result they should also appear here.

We’ve tested the theme from this point of view so it should work fine we haven’t had any reports also.
If you can provide more details about the server issues you experience we would happily look into it and provide a better answer. This could also happen due to your host configuration.

Regarding ads, the theme’s ad system renders just adsense, js/image or flash banners and short-codes so using other types of ads could not work: https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads-system-full-guide/

Other ads codes can be rendered by the wp text widget which you can also sue to place your ads to the page.

I’ve investigated this and it seems this is the normal behavior of woocommerce comments system. Also tested this on a WordPress default theme and found the same behavior, the comment form parses the text and removes empty spaces and the
tag is also removed.
You can also test this on a default WordPress theme.

I’ve did some research on this and found that by default, google+ removed the description from their sharer. Now you need to have interactive posts with call to action buttons for this.

You can set the post type you want to use on search query and add just tho ones you want to filter.

When you have caching enabled the 7 days counter isn’t updating until the cache expires and the post is accessed again so while caching it the 7 days sorting counter isn’t updating if the post is accessed, that’s why its called “an estimation of popularity from the last 7 days”.

The 7 days post sorting hasn’t been designed to work when using cache so if you want accurate results you need to remove the cache. Sorry!

We haven had any similar reports and the theme ad spots render just google adsense, simple ad code (js/flash/images – rendered as entered by the user) and [shortcodes] so I don’t think the theme is affecting your ads.
