When the mobile version or amp is displaying on desktop is a cache problem, we recommend to use WP Super Cache with the settings from our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ also if you are using other cache plugins please deactivate theme and make a test.
If the problem persist, let me know the settings you’ve made for WP Super Cache.

The issue was found in 9.7.1 and fixed in 9.7.2, also another one appeared in 10.3.3 and got fixed in 10.3.4.

You could work on a staging website or localhost and after everything is done just migrate your website.
Newspaper Theme does not offer migration options.
