Related to the thumbnail question – should it work for all picture ratios (like 1:1) or do I need at least a ratio for example 4:3?

I have a question about block’s image sizes. As you know that to make website speed faster, block’s image sizes on homepage should be smaller. For example, block 11 ‘s image size 218 x 150 (I wanna make it 200 x 100) block 3’s 324 x 160 ( I wanna make it 270 x 130), Big grids’ image sizes are also really large and i wanna shrink them too. Could you pls explain how to make block’s image sizes smaller on homepage? (I have no coding knowledge but i can try if it is possible to shrink images by coding easily)

I came across an issue which i am not sure why it is happening.
So i built some custom pages via Visual composer but on mobile the pages only show page tile and footer the body is missing.

If you want a full size logo image you can use Header styles 9, 10 or 11 – https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/ for a full logo width as specified here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/ An example of this is the Cars demo which uses Header style 10 – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_cars/ However if a background color or image is set, then the site automatically changes to the boxed version – https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/

Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option that allows you to change what type of Social buttons to be active on your front end, sorry! If you want to hide it, you should use a bit of CSS code to do this. For example, if you want to hide the Pinterest Button, you should use the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS Area.

i have two problems (at the moment):
1.)My thumbnails don´t fit into the boxes. I read here a lot and I tried the “Thumbnail Regenerate plugin” in combination with the deactivated plugins (excepted the Visual Composer) – without success.
2.)Can you recommend a plugin (for newspaper) to show the credits + link of the images under or in the images

Unfortunately I do not think that is possible. However you can try experimenting with this code, this is where the sharing for the post is generated – https://www.screencast.com/t/zJEhl8NgM3h you could integrate the code in the smart list template file you are using like in this example -https://www.screencast.com/t/ZjpwBa2Q7T and then further customizing the positioning and other properties using css – https://www.screencast.com/t/tBMBsK8InMr but I do not know if this will work properly as it was not meant to display this way.
If you are not using the mobile theme plugin which comes with a predefined style, then it will display the same elements used to create the page on desktop, so what you see on desktop you will see on mobile using the theme’s responsiveness. I bought the theme back in August and haven’t updated it yet. I’ve just been nervous and didn’t want to lose or break my website. I’m running version 7.3, but feel it’s time to update it.
I’ve read that I need to backup the files in case something goes wrong, but how do I do that? Do I have to download a certain plugin in order to back it up?
I’ve watched this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=16&v=r0hNjfCve1E), and it sounds like it’s pretty easy… I was just wondering if you had any tips for a newbie like me that has never done this before. Also, I DON’t plan on doing it through FTP… just WordPress.

For example, if I want an article to go under NFL, I’ll choose NFL in the Categories and also tag it NFL. But when I do this, the article also goes to the homepage. Sometimes I don’t want it to go to the homepage. Is there a way to have articles go to the sections (NFL, NBA, etc.) and not have them go to the homepage?

After you have activated the retina thumbs in Theme panel->Block settings – https://forum.tagdiv.com/retina-images/ you will have to upload one single image with a bigger size like in your example and the theme will create the required thumbs from that image. Make sure to use the regenerate thumbnails tool after you enable retina images and you could also clear your cache.

Are there any known issues, suggestions or guides for using AMP for displaying posts on mobile? I am looking for a solution where I keep the theme style for pages and use AMP for posts. There are 2 AMP plugins out there that support this.

As you mention, the AMP plugin is working with the theme, if possible, can you include in the list of validated plugins, so it is not showing with flagged message in the Status Window. For new people like me, it will be very helpful. 🙂

I intend to continue to use the AMP plugin then, seems a lifesaver in current situation, when other methods of speed improvement – cache plugins, minify etc does not seem to be working for me.

Google Search Console has sent me a warning message to tell me that, from January 2017, Chrome will mark as “not secure” the pages with password or credit card input fields, if these pages are not published with HTTPS.
In the same message, Google says this page is marked as “not secure” but the page does not collect any kind of data with input fields.
Actually no site’s page contains input fields for sensitive data.
Any idea about the reason of that warning message? Have you got similar issues with other customers? Is something that may be related with the theme? Could simply be an error by Google?

“official” AMP plugin by Automattic works very well with the TagDiv themes, and I’ve been doing so here since Nov. 2015. 🙂
Just need to either add the entry/ignore to the booster settings; or simply not use the booster plugin (which is optional).
I have a problem with different mobile devices having trouble accessing my website. Had some people test on mobile devices. Android user was able to access with no problem, Windows platform user gets a blank page. I have the mobile theme plugin installed and active although it states that it is not necessary to use. Any ideas why some people can’t access with mobile device? More than two people having problem this is just two examples. Theme is newly purchased Newspaper 7 so everything is up to date.

I did not add either author box via visual composer. In both cases, it is the author attribute based on the user section so it automatically apends to any post to which I assign that author. Is there no way to assign the author role but just not have the box automatically show at the end of the post for a given author?

Hi Bogdan, Probably it’s a well-known issue as due to some reason chrome or any other browser do not allow autoplay of videos on mobile. There are various search results on Google about this.

There is no problem with the Speed Booster plugin, the problem I have is that the files which are being highlighted as a problem by the Google speed test are not included on the list that the Speed Booster plugin provides.
For example, this appears on the Google speed test as a blocking script resource:
XXX.com/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=3.0
but it is not included on the list of registered css and js
So I am not able to deal with it.
