I have a mistake in my category page lifestyle on my website.

I saw in my category page there are some posts in double. I check and this is the same post ID.
And in the backend WordPress, I just have one post for this name :

– Mariage franco-américain Dodocase et Edie&Watson
– Arc-en-ciel

There is no translation plugin. No commerce part. It’s strange.

Can you have a look please ? Or maybe it’s just an option ? What do you think ?

Last time I updated the theme I lost some basic customization like favicons that weren’t maintained even after copying & pasting the backup text.

How can I update the theme without having to check all the site for this kind of stuff?

I need some help applying the following changes to my site:

– removing the bar and the extra space on top of the Main Menu & Logo
– I want to add a hovering effect to the main menu, where the background of each button (not just by underlining it) switches from white background + black text to orange background + white text.
– I would like to make the two grid-images a little smaller, while staying center-aligned
– how can I remove the lines (——-) on top of the article excerpts on the main page?
– when disabling the visibility of date, author and comment count from the posts, how can I remove the empty space underneath the title of each article?

Hey there.

This is not a coding related question but more of a legal issue that was brought up to us externally. We could not answer the questions by studying the documentation provided nor the forums. So we have to resolve to asking you (sorry for that.)

To the matter at hand.

Privacy regulations and laws in the EU and especially Germany have grown pretty stiff for website owners. It has become a necessity to know what your site is doing in regards of gathering and transfering user data – actively and passively – especially in regards of social media websites and networks.

For example, the usual Facebook-Like-Thingy offered by Facebook.com one can implement into her site is gathering data from visitors of a website even when that visitor is neither logged in to the visited site nor to Facebook. According to current laws and regulations in place in the EU and Germany websites must tell their visitors upfront about this in great detail. Further, websites have to offer means to prevent that (strict opt-in rules). Not complying to these laws and regulations can result in legal prosecution and fines north of the 10-grand-range. Not exactly something you’d really want to risk, let alone unknowingly.

You probably understand why we are really needing definite and final answers.

1.) Do the social media plugins and functions inherrited within Newspaper comply with current privacy laws and regulations in place in the EU and Germany?

2.) Do these plugins and/or functions gather and/or record and/or transmit any data anywhere outside the site that is using these plugins and/or functions from visitors of said website if the visitor of that website user is:

a) not actively interacting with these plugins/functions?
b) not logged in to the website where these plugins/functions are in use (“activated”)?
c) not a registered user with the associated social media plattform?

3.) In case any of 2.) a)-c) has been answered “yes”:

a) Which plugins and/or functions?
b) How to prevent that?

4.) If these plugins/functions are disabled via the theme panel do they gather / record / transmit any userdata?
If yes: How to ultimately stop that?

Sorry to bother you with this, but for us (and basically every other customer of your product in the EU and Germany) this is a matter that we cannot ignore.

For some reasons i had disabled the comments section for a while. But now i wanted to reactivate it. Strange is, that on a new article i posted today, commentbos is showing. But on all older articles – without any comment – the commentbox is not showing up. At least for me … 😉

The huge Headline at the bottom of the page tells ne (in german), that there is no comment. Which is fine but sad 😉 … But i would like to see the comment-box.

Of course comments are activated. Within wordpress – the themepanel and jetpack. All should be fine. But it isnt .. anyhow … 🙂

From time to time, I see some examples at websites, when you get into a single post, below you can find posts displayed in full, instead of related news thumbnails etc.

As an exampple, check out this site:

I think this could be doable in some way, is there a quick fix we can do this at php or do you know a plugin for that?

I’ve noticed that the CSS and Javascript are loaded on every site page as well as other all other plugin’s CSS and JS. It’s resource wasting because it requires several TCP connections at every page load and degrading this way the site load performances and the user experience too. Therefore I’m trying to deregister CSS and Javascript where not needed and to load them only on pages where they are needed. For example, since the Contact Form 7 is used only on the ‘contacts’ page, I’ve added the following lines to Newsmag-child theme functions.php:

add_filter( 'wpcf7_load_js', '__return_false' );
add_filter( 'wpcf7_load_css', '__return_false' );
?>

Now, I should add the following lines in the page where the Contact Form 7 is used i.e. “contacts” page:

More in general, could you advice a method by means of which I can always include CSS and JS (mainly due to plugins) only where needed?

The issue is when I add images from the library (or uploading files):
if I add only 1 image everything works fine, if I add for example 8 images
nothing happens, the Add Images window stops working…

Hi please help

Some widgets that came with the theme show up when i visit the site but when i try to edit them under widget setting in wordpress they DO NOT APPEAR.

For example, the social counter on the homepage theme does not appear under widget settings and this is really frustrating and annoying at the same time, spent hours trying to sort this out.
