Seems there is inconsistency on the AMP pages/posts when we browse using visitor’s mode

2. Another strange thing is when we published a post.
It shows at the admin’s mode >> https://prnt.sc/smurp1
But It is not showing at the visitor’s mode >>https://prnt.sc/smuvxw

3. Do we need to submit anything to Google Webmaster to be qualified for the AMP, OR the site would be auto indexed via XML sitemap that implemented along with Yoast SEO?
(cause all AMP sites are within the Google.com domain when we browse it)

Hi,

in the previous version of the theme(version 9), i had a file parts/header/top-widget.php on the child theme, that had a code to add some links before the social icons.

After the update to the latest theme version, they disappeared.

AMP view problems - topic

Hi,

I’ve setted amp mobile view, but the AMP view showing only if the user is registered and logged. While if i use my website like a guest i see the responsive version. Another strange things is that in some articles, i see the the AMP version while in other i see the normal view.

In AMP Settings i’ve selected Transitional and checked all boxes.

Activating mobile theme plugin, amp settings disappear and in theme mobile panel i’ve selected mobile + amp.

All articles are enabled for mobile version.

Default font Open Sans not showing on iPad - topic

Hi there,
I switched on ‘load default fonts’ in the theme panel.
On desktop and iPhone the fonts are Open Sans and Roboto, so no issues there.
On iPad however the paragraph font is not Open Sans but Times New Roman or something alike. The headings are fine.
Only when I switch on ‘use Google fonts’ the paragraph font turns to Open Sans.
Can you tell me why this is? Can I fix this?

With regards to the breadcrumbs issue, I would expect the category level of the breadcrumbs that reads ‘Opinion’ to be clickable in this example:

Is there something I need to update in the admin panel?

And with regards to the images- on the archive listing pages we wanted a 2 column grid. In your template system it would have made sense to use either of the modules M1 to M5 for this sort of layout, however the images always looked really blurry on higher res monitors. When I actually investigated, I could see that module M1 &amp; 2 were generating the crop sizes 324x160px standard &amp; 648x320px retina, and module M3, 4 and 5 were generating 324x235px standard and 648x470px retina crops. A standard 13″ MacBook has a default resolution of 2560×1600, so the 648px retina crop just doesn’t seem large enough for a 2 col grid where the image will need to fill 50% width of the site, even if your overall site container were capped at 70 or 80% of the screen. The only way I have been able to get the images to look sharp on higher res monitors has been to use one of the full width module layouts (in this case M14) and override it’s default layout in the CSS so that the modules actually collapse to a smaller grid. This just doesn’t seem very practical, as I would have preferred the module layouts to work better for all screen sizes ‘out of the box’. Anyway I’m not sure you’ll be able to offer any further assistance for that issue, as obviously the image crop sizes are currently fixed, but if you can advise on the breadcrumb query that would be appreciated.

We struggled just the same issue, hired an optimizer even, but nothing changed till we changed on a faster servers:

Hello,

I’m trying to create a new design for my homepage.
I have installed the “Black Version PRO” and I have saw that in desktop version I have the theme from the demo and on my phone I have the default theme (one with white).
How can I create a home page like the one from “Black Version PRO” ? Do I need to use WPBakery ? because I don’t see any option to edit the menu or other features in the tagDiv page builder.
The pages created with WPBakery are also compatible with AMP ?

Hi,

You can use the licence only for one final/online product, for example if you want to change the domain you’ll need to remove the key from the first domain and after that you can use the licence for the theme on the new domain; for more details please check our documentation -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/

Hi,

That is because you are using the mobile theme plugin, you’ll gain a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to create a new content for pages because in the most of cases those were made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) and you need to use only the mobile editor ( you need to set the content for pages in mobile editor and this content will be display on mobile theme)

Hi,

In Newspaper v10.3.3 was add a better support for WPML plugin ->https://i.imgur.com/vAjt3aG.png now you can set the header, footer, category and single template on each language in them panel, for this you need to use the translate for cloud templates -> https://i.imgur.com/Y99kgbB.png in this way on each language you’ll have only the templates made for that language, for example https://i.imgur.com/UJbzFFp.png -> https://i.imgur.com/TWZLxQZ.png -> https://i.imgur.com/CjsSkAC.png
You can duplicate a cloud template like this -> https://i.imgur.com/BLYyLc4.png after that you can edit it with tagDiv Composer.

The second method is the classic one using the strings translate, this is more harder -> you need to use the this option -> https://i.imgur.com/59kl17v.png in order to use the string translate, for example for the header -> https://prnt.sc/rumozl and in WPML String -> https://prnt.sc/rumqn5 then you need to set the id of the header you want to be set for that language -> https://i.imgur.com/ghCu54I.png -> https://i.imgur.com/UAgVTC6.png -> https://prnt.sc/rumrbd

When the mobile version or amp is displaying on desktop is a cache problem, we recommend to use WP Super Cache with the settings from our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ also if you are using other cache plugins please deactivate theme and make a test.
If the problem persist, let me know the settings you’ve made for WP Super Cache.

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Hi,

This option was added in latest version of amp, in this way you can navigate on amp version from mobile very fast.
To can get on normal website from amp, you’ll need to chose the elements that you want to be amp, like posts, pages homepage, etc the elements that are not selected as amp can get you to the normal website -> https://i.imgur.com/oaunpYM.png so the most users let the homepage unchecked therefore if you’ll touch the logo you’ll be redirect to homepage that has no amp version.

Hi,

1. The custom fonts are still working in Newspaper v10.3.3 pleas let me know the implementation you’ve made and some screenshots.
Also the font family will apply on h elements ->https://i.imgur.com/KAVsfeF.jpg but there are h elements that have other elements with a stronger css.
2. There are elements that can be edited from theme panel, but most of theme can be edited with tagDiv Composer and these will have individual settings for example flex blocks -> https://i.imgur.com/2EIKd02.png

Hi, lately I decided to move to adjust mt mobile look of the website, where I found lot of problems, starting with the mobile theme option that is not working as it should be, sometimes the website turns to be looking different and all is right, but after a while the website go back to the laptop version of the website even tough the mobile theme plugin is still activated, I checked all the other plugins that may cause this malfunctioning, and didn’t find any reason for the mobile theme plugin being moody like that, in addition to the pages that you can’t access using the mobile theme plugin, yet i gave all my pages working with the AMP option turned on, so i decided to get rid of this plugging and use the normal view for both, PC and phone, here i found another problem which is the header is missed up, the logo is not well obvious because the header was in black, so i went to change the logo from the settings but nothing was bein affected, it seems like the settings are just over there they have no role in the whole matter, please I’m asking you to help me ASAP, Thanks.

Dear Developers,

Please check and solve the problems of the integration of the WPML. I don’t know (did not investigate) on which side is the problem.
But really annoying when you are using the site with 12 languages.
So I got the translations day by day and adapt 1-2 per day.
I have templates under Cloud templates menu for the header, categories, search, single, and 404 page.
And I have of course the Newspaper Theme settings page.
So what I did I created the English versions and duplicate for the extra 11 languages.
After I just changed them, but everytime everything is mixing… And I have to set everything again, and the settings are really a mass 🙂
For example for the category page I must set only the Main language category page in the Theme settings, and for the 404 also. But for the post page I should choose everywhere (for every language) the right page… so for the categories only one but for the posts everywhere so 12 times.
Sometimes I should rechoose the header because the WP forget it or something… But you know I have already set 6 languages and I just added the 7th and half of the things are going to bad… Usually the header and the categories.. But now the search went wrong 😀

I’m pretty sure, there bugs, and not one 🙂
I hope if I would finish it won’t go to bad just from one day to the next day 🙂

Otherwise the template is good, but I had the same problems with other Newspaper templates with WPML.

So please investigate the issue, so build a multilanguage site with your template and the WPML it. Not for me, I will play with this… and may tell some nice world for the developers, but they won’t listen to it 😛

But I hope for you will be able to fix it till my next project 🙂
