Better if you deactivate WPBakery page builder if wanna use TD Composer, they do not work very good together.
Just updated my site to the latest Newspaper and decided it was time to explore TD Composer and move off of the WPBakery page builder.
Spent the last 30 minutes trying to get a single element to appear in my new page. A few problems:
– When I open a new page to build, I can’t drag anything at all into it. I drag and drop and nothing appears in the page
– I read the docs, it says I need a row. If I need a row and my page is empty and I try to drop something in, how about telling me I need a row first?
– I try to drop a row into my page. Nothing happens.
– I try to search through the elements to see if there’s something else I should add, and I can’t scroll vertically through all the elements in the left pane. No scrollbar, arrow and pgup/dn keys don’t work
– Exit TD Composer and see there are shortcodes in the page in WordPress composer. Go back into TD Composer and now I have a row and I can drag and drop elements into this space, but I still can’t scroll vertically to see the elements available. I have a small widescreen laptop so not a lot of vertical space. How about a freaking scrollbar?
This composer fails basic fundamental usability tests. Frankly, I’m disappointed. I supposed I’ll try again after the next major update.
Hi,
I don’t quite understand what you mean. What files are you referring to exactly?
Indeed, a bundled revolution slider is provided with the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
Also some demo sliders used in demos, which can be imported
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/
Both the tagDiv composer and WPBakery page builder have a dedicated revolution slider element to place in pages
– https://www.screencast.com/t/hUWD1c2fY
Updates for the revolution slider are provided by us when the theme is updated and when available. You don’t have to register or activate the revolution slider plugin, it is a bundled version not a premium purchased version.
Thanks
Hi,
That would happen if both WPBakery and tagDiv composer are active. Single images will be affected by both of them, so they will most likely not display or work properly. The functionality of the single image element is different in the page builders.
Deactivate the tagDiv composer if you use WPBakery, that would be the solution. Then the single image will display as it should.
Thanks
Hello,
The Wpbakery page builder can be installed like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
Please note you cannot register the plugin to the author website if this is what you mean by “activate”
The bundled version does not have an activation code but you already have access to the full features of the plugin.
However, we recommend our own tagdiv composer page builder as you cna only use the cloud library plugin using our own page builder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Thank you!
Hey guys,
Since updating to Newspaper 9.01, I am unable to edit existing content and can’t create new content for my page either. Can’t create new posts, products, pages etc… I CAN edit existing content if I disable TagDiv Composer. I have re-installed all plug-ins, cleared my cache etc… but NO luck.
Any ideas?
Hi
My name is Clint Lynch and I am a developer working with adworld.ie.
I have upgraded the theme to Newsmag 4 on the staging environment, the new “tagDiv Composer plugin” does not render the Single Image widget as the “WP Bakery Visual Composer plugin”.
Please see the staging environment:
https://staging.adworld.ie/digital-imj/
vs the live environment here:
https://adworld.ie/digital-imj/
Is it advisable to run both plugins at the same time, or should we bite the bullet and remove the “WP Bakery Visual Composer plugin” altogether?
How can I best override the “vc_single_image” to render the images as they were rendered by the “WP Bakery Visual Composer plugin”?
Yesterday I purchased a Newspaper Theme. I tried installing on localhost and it took me 2 hours to figure out how to install it. Now I am not able to figure out how to activate WPBakery (visual builder). Help me !!
Also I want to create an educational website. So, please help me which should be the best demo to upload.
Hello,
You get this issue because 1: you use an older theme version and did not yet update to the latest version and 2: you keep both tagdiv composer and wpbakery active.
We recommend only using a single page builder and disabling the other and we also recommend updating to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!
I’ve been unable to work on my pages layout since updating the newspaper theme. I can’t work with the TagDive composer, only WP Bakery Pagebuilder. Pls any help?
It seems as though my connection between my media folder and tagdiv is corrupt.
I’ve tried multiple different files types.
I cannot upload any of my own media onto the website, for anything for any purpose in tagdiv composer.
I’ve never touched WPbakery builder (doesn’t even work)
Please ANY HELP would be appreciated
Also, I’ve only ever used TD composer, ever since i bought the newspaper theme my WPbakery builder has never even worked.
Hi,
So you want to use the tagDiv composer or WPBakery? Both work properly with the theme. We still provide the WPBakery plugin and update it regularly.
First be sure to check the updated theme requirements guide, top to bottom
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If there is no need for modifications in that matter, in some cases the solutions from these topics worked for tagDiv composer problems, you could give them a try if possible
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/
Let us know if there is still a problem.
Thanks
just deactivated WPBakery page builder, and it solved!
My Point is…
You should also make 2 versions of demos,
One version based on TdComposer and
Second version based on WpBakery Pagebuilder
That way..when one faces errors using TDComposer their work wont suffer as they will have Visual composer to fall back upon.
If that makes sense…
That is all I want to say…
Hello i don’t want to replicate it, i want only to use it, and to start to see them on visual mode shortcode menu, i am not using tagDiv Composer yet, and i am not planing to switch, if i will use it all shortcodes i used before will not work and 1/3 Columns Grid will be removed to the sidebar , also tagDiv Composer will delete all buttons i used from WPBakery Page Builder,
Can you check if there is some missing files or code with shortcodes to work normal, or how to fix this thing
Regards
Hi,
Sorry to hear that, there would always be some exceptions no matter how much we try. We will keep improving the plugin however.
That would be the case in general if you think about it. Take another plugin for example, the same plugin will probably not work for all the users who install it. That can be caused by many factors.
The tagDiv composer is built by us from scratch. The question would be why not? Why not provide a page builder of our own, add functionality for it which would not be possible with WPBakery as a base.
What would happen if for some reason WPBakery page builder is not updated anymore or maybe discontinued? Now there is an alternative.
Users are free to choose which page builder they will use, we recommend the tagDiv composer.
Thanks
Hi,
1. Some thumbnails are still not created, for example this one
– https://www.screencast.com/t/XQsP3XHE
This is a proper thumbnail – https://www.screencast.com/t/pPrN9pDz2d
So if you regenerated the thumbnails and there is still a problem, maybe the required PHP GD library module is missing. Check in the theme system status
– https://www.screencast.com/t/98bgTKdtHsRq
2. I also tried to hide a column with WPBakery (tagDiv composer inactive)
– https://www.screencast.com/t/w0zdMr3QY
The column is hidden, there will be a hidden class set on it by WPBakery
– https://www.screencast.com/t/H8few257i
Inspecting your page there are a few columns hidden under the big grid
– https://www.screencast.com/t/rURAqOuCF
These would be the columns, one contains an ad box and one is empty
– https://www.screencast.com/t/ZhKCe1JWLV
These are hidden on desktop so that would be what you wanted. Maybe I am misunderstanding something, please correct me if I do.
Thanks
Hi there all:
I have decided to switch from the old composer (Bakery) to the TagDiv composer which I consider there have more benefits than the Bakery one (overall because of the css minification, speed, updates, bla bla bla…). I am preparing all pages of my website and living them as draft until the final moment come, but i am not sure how to do the final stage (change my old pages to the new ones without loosing all). Do you guys have any video or tutorial about how to do it right??
Thanks in advance 4 any tip
Hi. I’m trying to use the TD composer but I get a Bad Gateway notice. Is it because I have a conflicting plug-in? My last developer installed a WPBakery page designer plug-in, but TD composer looks way easier. Help!
Done. It works after I deactive WPBakery Page Builder
Thank you Simion, codes worked just fine.
Yes, I disabled TD Composer a while ago because of that reason.
I hope you find a fix soon, since many of us prefer WP Bakery over TD Composer because of the back end editing.
Greetings.
Hi,
We are aware of that issue with the sticky sidebar, when using WPBakery only. The issue is currently investigated and it will be fixed as soon as possible. It will affect pages and also posts if you used WPBakery to build posts and create sticky sidebars.
If the tagDiv composer is also active the sidebars should function correctly. You could activate the tagDiv composer to fix it temporarily if possible. But that may create problems with WPBakery content.
A solution you could try is these codes that will force the sticky sidebars to the proper widths, for all viewports
– https://www.screencast.com/t/4kTKWFnW
You could give them a try and see if they work for you, let me know
Desktop
.td-ss-row .td-pb-span4 .wpb_wrapper {
width: 324px!important;
}
iPad landscape
.td-ss-row .td-pb-span4 .wpb_wrapper {
width: 300px!important;
}
iPad portrait
.td-ss-row .td-pb-span4 .wpb_wrapper {

}
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Hi,
I couldn’t say why that is happening, maybe there are not enough resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Of that builder has some additional requirements, you could check that as well.
On our side we have not made any tests with other page builders than tagDiv composer and WPBakery which are provided with the theme.
Hi,
1. The Newsmag theme does not have any options for a wider layout, the tagDiv composer provided with it as well does not. This would be one of the differences between the Newsmag theme and the Newspaper theme which is more flexible and has lots of increased or full width capabilities.
Forcing an increased width by code is not recommended, this will most likely damage the layout and elements inside it.
2. With the theme version you are using Instagram and the social counter (if you use it) will probably not work. Due to changes made by most socials quite a while back, we had to modify the theme to adapt to the new code. This happened in theme update 4.3, changelog here at the bottom of the page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newsmag-news-magazine-newspaper/9512331
– https://www.screencast.com/t/CDHizhmi61jB
Update the theme and Instagram and other socials should work again. Be sure to clear any cache you have after updating. Also the browser cache, or force refresh the page a few times (Ctrl+Shift+R).
3. Be sure to check the theme requirements guide carefully, top to bottom
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
Check if there are enough resources and the required PHP modules are active. Contact your hosting provider if necessary.
There will be problems with the theme and plugins if there are not enough resources.
Also do not edit pages created with WPBakery (Visual composer) with the tagDiv composer, this may result in damaged pages.
Thanks
