Hello,
I have chosen two new fonts for my website, which is already available in the theme. However, I cannot find an option to use one font for all titles and one font for all body text, throughout the whole site. It seems I have to manually change every single module and block. Please add an option to change this one place. (It’s not enough to set a default or general font, I still have to change the individual block or module. I use several different modules/blocks and change them frequently.)
Greetings from Norway 🙂
Hello. Again for sidebar. When I create a new page and a new block in Visual Composer, a message appears on sidebar which says that “While using Visual Composer sidebar settings are not available. To add a sidebar on page use the widgetised sidebar block.”. So I have to add this block in every single page I create? Because I enabled the widgets but they are not appear on pages, only in posts
Hi Tagdiv-Team,
fellow forum-member 😉
It might be a stupid question, but I would like to use the themes shortcodes (as shown in the link below) … but can´t figuter out how …
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/blockquotes-pullquotes/
Some hints as it is easter 🙂

Hello. Thank you so much for your help. I am so close to having this the way I would like it. Is there a way to edit the block header template? I like the one with the arrow on the bottom but I would like it to be all black rather than 2 toned with white.
completely confused now. i went to the trouble of installing a fresh WordPress install, nothing on it. Thinking that the issue might reside i was putting the them onto an existing site, but nope, its doing the same thing. All of the columns are going 100% and not adhering to the 2/3+1/3 selection , or any other for that matter
https://active2017.phyefnp3-liquidwebsites.com/
and in addition the blocks arent even working right either , the first row on the above link is supposed to have 3 posts on the side , not the bottom…..
this seems to be alot more trouble than its worth, not starting off good ; unless i am missing something (which is totally possible)
Theme panel > Theme Fonts has an impressive list of fonts. However, it’s not clear the connection between these fonts and the website.
For example, if I want to increase the font-size under the images, do I have to change “Big Grids Article Title > Medium Images”? Or should I change “Module and Blocks Article Title > Module 1”?
Do you have a list that connects the page font to the Theme list?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
You can use any block available for your page – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ with this layout
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
This is how it is recommended to create your page structure, please try and use a combination of blocks and layout that you think it is suited for your website, using the theme options.
If you would like to create your own block, you can do so using this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/practical-example-how-to-add-a-new-block-and-module/
Or you could modify an existing block through the child theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks
Hi,
Each of the blocks can be edited by opening your page in Visual composer. There you can see the page structure and the elements contained – https://www.screencast.com/t/p5sYtsooh – https://www.screencast.com/t/EVr6yYAil
You can modify these elements and assign categories to them, sort the posts displayed
– https://www.screencast.com/t/0QVenw6lJ
All of these options and settings are explained in detail in this tutorial
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Please let us know if you need further help or additional information.
Thanks
Hi,
If you would like to create a new thumbnail size for an existing module, you can define that new thumb size using the method provided in the previous link, in the api plugin. You can download the plugin here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/practical-example-how-to-add-a-new-block-and-module/
Then using the child theme modify an existing module to use the custom thumbnail size, from the plugin. I believe this should work properly.
Just make sure to regenerate your thumbnails – https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ so the new size will be created.
This way you will not loose this customization with a theme update, everything is done through the plugin and child theme. Maybe additional options regarding this will be available in a future release, but I could not say for sure if this will happen.
About the license, the Envato license specifies you can use the theme on a single end-product at a time
– http://themeforest.net/licenses/standard
A sub-domain however can be used and the theme activated on it, if it’s part of the same project. You can use the theme on this sub-domain, as long as it will not be a different website with different content.
Thanks
Ok so how do you suggest that I have 2×2 layout with each 50% having 4 columns to display articles? Can i design such a block myself?

Currently I’m using the default setup from your index dummy page demo:
[vc_row][vc_column][metaslider id=103][/vc_column][/vc_row]
[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_15 custom_title="Popular recipes" td_ajax_filter_type="td_category_ids_filter"][td_block_ad_box spot_id="custom_ad_1" spot_title="- Advertisement -"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class="td-recipes-deserts"][vc_column][td_block_15 custom_title="Deserts" header_color="#dd4949" sort="random_posts"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class="td-recipes-chicken"][vc_column][td_block_15 custom_title="Chicken & Beef" header_color="#3e8ebc" sort="random_posts"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][td_block_video_youtube playlist_title="VIDEO RECIPES" playlist_yt="aJdU-Y_4cig, 10zarkHqXRo, jOmD2tIvsJg, Fw5fBM2osSw, -JKtWOqARa4, tM5b0engFM0, m8WACcHLeeQ, uJsFkZBbn5w"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class="td-recipes-instagram"][vc_column][td_block_instagram instagram_id="twisted_food" instagram_images_per_row="4" instagram_number_of_rows="" custom_title=""][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Only thing I’ve added is the slider on the top of the page.
What I’m trying to do now it to replace those dummy demo blocks with real categories which I’ve created.
For example first dummy block is “Popular recipes”.
[td_block_15 custom_title="Popular recipes" td_ajax_filter_type="td_category_ids_filter"]
1) How does this work? It should really work depending on the number of views on each recipes article, does it work that way?
2) Also how would i exclude some categories from this block?
Next block is “Deserts”.
[td_block_15 custom_title="Deserts" header_color="#dd4949" sort="random_posts"]
The problem is it doesn’t really show the deserts category.
1) How do I set it up to show the desserts category with descending order of the newest posts?
Hello thefrontlinewire,
If the demo still won’t load, you need to check if you have the correct permissions on your upload folder. If not you can use the c-panel to change permissions (set them to 777) or if you do not have access to the Cpanel, please contact your hosting provider. Another thing you can check with your host is to unlock the demo if there is some setting which blocks access to it.
If all of these will not do it, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and request the manual installation and we will provide the XML file for the specific demo you want to import.
Thank you!
Hi,
The solution provided seems to be working properly. If you are reffering that the top menu items are not aligning properly on certain screen sizes, maybe you can try adding this to the code
– https://www.screencast.com/t/41zSyfQWrUcx
– https://www.screencast.com/t/efoOWGcvIq
– https://www.screencast.com/t/oh5BkLuBSZCB
The code should be like this if you decide to use it
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-header-top-menu-full, .td-header-sp-top-menu {
display: block!important;;
}
.td_ul_login{
display:none!important;
}
.td-header-sp-top-menu, .menu-top-container{
width:100%!important;
}
#menu-td-demo-top-menu{
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
display: table;
text-align:center;
}}
Thanks
Hi,
You have to open and edit your page in the Visual composer editor – https://www.screencast.com/t/sLqIImqt then click on the Backend editor – https://www.screencast.com/t/RgItCWvw
Now you should see the page structure, containing all the elements present on your page
– https://www.screencast.com/t/xEuGFmQmao
This is where you can add/remove or modify these elements. Here is a tutorial about the blocks used on the pages and their available settings – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Also you can find all the theme documentation here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
Thanks
Thank you for your response.
I have a few follow-up questions:
1) Do you plan to make this section pluggable from child theme in future versions? Maybe wrapping each API call in a function and wrapping the function in a condition like if {!function_exists(function))} will allow users to override the thumbnails settings from functions.php.
2) If I make custom thumbnail sizes using the API, how will I be able to use those new thumbnails in the block templates? I see the thumbnails are called in includes/modules/td_module_#.php files. How can I modify these files so that the new template is preserved after theme update? If I make a copy of the file in the child theme using the same folder structure, will my file get precedence before the theme file in generating the output?
And on an unrelated topic, will you consider making available two licenses with each theme purchase, one for the live site and one for the development site? The guys at Themco do this for their X theme and you register your live and development site on their platform and you are able to make automatic theme updates on the development site. Right now I have the theme installed on my development site but I have the „Acticvate theme” error message on my dashboard. Once I move the site to the live domain I will activate the license I bought, but would be interesting to have a development license as well.
Best regards,
Mircea
Hello sasquatters,
You can check our demo preview here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/ because there you will found all of them and there you can test how it looks on frontend.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
I have inspected your website but I see no error or problems with the thumbs. I have made a test using one of your images on the block you are using, and this is the result – https://www.screencast.com/t/EDYsbB6rq
It seems the thumb size used on the block is not suited for this kind of images, and where a center top cropping is applied. For example a circle cannot fit properly in a smaller rectangle, it gets cut off.
A solution would be to use a different block with different thumbs, like block 5 for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/fXWyBdaj
You can see all the available blocks here – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
Thanks
Hello ChristianLI2017,
Please ensure that you have turned off the date from posts section, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/x61OnWBQOnG From the theme you can disable the date only from blocks/modules, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/siYAGBNS
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Lewis,
Please notice that our animals demo uses the block style 12 which uses the Read more button to link the entire post content. So, if you want to remove this, you should change the block from your backend or also, you should use a bit of CSS code to hide it. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS Area.
The code is ->
.td_block_12 .td-read-more{
display:none;
}
The result is here ->https://www.screencast.com/t/utbinQYAY
Regarding on category, tag, notice that you can hide them from Theme panel, according to your blocks/modules used by you, from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/SAoaTV89b2
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello,
I searched the forum but I didn’t found an answer to my question. All I found was this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-change-the-thumps-on-module-block-sizes/ where a user modified the front width of elements and because of this the thumbnails are not shown properly.
I want to do the same thing. I have modified the width of the main container on the frontend and I want to edit the dimensions of the thumbnails generated by the theme for various blocks. I have found the place in the theme where this sizes are set, in Newspaper-tf\includes\td_config.php line 1324-1593. But I do not want to edit the theme files, because all of my edits will be gone on the next theme updates.
I am looking for a way to hook into those functions and change the size of the generated thumbnails for various blocks from the functions.php file of the child theme, so that my edits will be there after the next theme update.
Best regards,
Mircea
Well I cannot provide a fix for a plugin I have not seen before as I would not know how. As I said, the plugin is not tested. Any plugin that is not tested could provide mixed results. I suggest using another plugin for your events like the event calendar maybe. Or any other one. Sorry but third party plugin implementation is not covered by the theme support. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here is a list of tested and recommended plugin sto use with our theme: https://www.screencast.com/t/xKKr2mwxI
Anything beyond this list is not tested and not covered by the theme support.
Please check the plugin repository and see if the reis a function created by the plugin like for example is_event that you can use for the block title to wrap it into a condition so the title will not get added to the event.
The main title function in our theme is created here: https://www.screencast.com/t/rQ9FB70O3j9
Thanks.
Hello,
You can set excerpts to each module individually in our theme: https://www.screencast.com/t/Av8qlmOFN8
Modules are the base element. A block is made out of 1 or m,ore modules. In order to see which module is used on which block, please check this list: https://www.screencast.com/t/MRGMFVJduDYh
Thank you!
Hi,
Please do not post your credentials here as others have access to this forum. i have removed them from the reply now.
3. If you want to remove the uncategoriesed category, please add this code in the theme panel-> custom css box:
.td_block_popular_categories a[href="http://xelamitvark.am.php56-17.ord1-1.websitetestlink.com/category/uncategorized-hy/"]{
display:none
}
5. Sorry but the footer as any other part of our theme only has 3 sections. We built our theme on 3 columns so there cannot be 4, sorry.
6. You can add this code in theme panel-> custom css box:
.td-sub-footer-copy{
width:100%;
text-align:center;
}
Please change your credentials as other users may have seen them.
Thank you!
