We’re having an issue where many of the modules are not properly spanning multiple columns. The below demo page is a mock up using the “Homepage – Less images” template.

A similar thing happens with the “Big grid”. Instead of filling the entire width, two of the blocks wrap to an additional line.
Anyone have any thoughts? Is something wrong with the size of our photos perhaps?

Just did a fresh install on my site, starting from scratch to avoid what may have been some security issues before. I’m making a concerted effort to secure and optimize the site before adding any content or doing any major customizations.

Under section 4. Remove render blocking css/js – using the TagDiv Speed Boosterplugin (Advanced Users) I’m running into some issues.
1. I’ve installed the Speed Booster plug-in and activated it.
2. I’ve copied and pasted the suggested code into very bottom of NewsMag’s functions.php file (there’s another functions.php that the guide is talking about, is there?) and saved.
3. I’ve copy/pasted the output at the top of the page into a text file, which reads:

6. When I went back to output from what I did in step 3 above, I didn’t notice any corresponding file names for the issues that needed to be fixed. For instance, in the Google report, it suggests jquery files, but when you search the code section of step 3, I couldn’t find anything that said “jquery”. Same thing for css like “Roboto”.
I noticed in the code comments within the Booster plug-in that it looks like it is still being tested on NewsMag:

Unfortunately Newsmag theme was initially designed at this width – 1021px – with an fixed grid layout, responsive as it is fluid and style for desktop/tables/mobile screens. So changing the width would not be easy as it needs changing the width value for all elements on pages and for this you would need custom work. @nf_prt Starting with the next version of the newspaper theme ( newspaper 5 ) the theme will have panel thumbs option section (similar to the one that is already available in newsmag theme, that if you are using it) from which you can decide which modules you want to sue and disable the thumbs that you don’t need. Then regenerate thumbnails with a plugin like force regenerate thumbs or a similar one you can delete all thumbs and generate only those needed.

the loop you’re looking for is in loop.php file:
\wp-content\themes\Newspaper\loop.php
But in loop.php, you can only control the loop and count how many posts the loop is rendering, you can’t control the rendering there. You can control the rendering in the file @Lucian mentioned.
So you have the loop in one file and the rendering in the other. You can make the loop tell the render that some post is the 5th it finds, but that means you’ll have to make the function pass on a new variable.
I believe there’s another easier way:
– create a copy of td_module_9 and call it td_module_10
– edit line 15 of the new td_module_10, replace this <?php echo $this->get_no_thumb_class();?> for this td_mod_no_thumb (this will make td_module_10 = td_module_9 but with no thumbs)
– add a counter to the loop.php
– add if-test to the loop.php, something like, if counter==is-multiple-of-5 and the block to render is td_module_9, then render td_module_10 instead
this should do the trick!

EDIT: oh, I noticed now you want “4-no-thumbs + 1-thumb” and what I wrote will get you “4-thumbs + 1-no-thumb”, just swap the steps I wrote and you’ll get 1 thumb every 5 posts.

You should try to disable all plugins first, empty all caches, purge files if you use CDN host then check again. If it’s still there then you should try a fresh theme and WordPress install and see how it goers.

Not sure why you have this issue. I also checked this with latest theme version and did not found any issues. Please check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and check again. Also make sure that you don’t use any special characters on the sidebar’s name as we have some reports about this, when a block is added in a custom sidebar disappears.

Hi,
I am having trouble with my [tag div] Block 16 sidebars.
Whenever I make a change to any sidebar widget, all of my [tag div] Block 16 that I have already set up in my sidebars disappear. This wouldn’t be a huge problem if I was able to re-set them easily, but I am having significant problems with this.
The drop-down menu on the [tag div] Block 16 appears but does not allow me to place the block in a sidebar (I click Add Widget, but nothing happens).
More difficult is that the drag and drop function also isn’t working correctly. I have no control over the drag and drop function, and the Blocks automatically end up in sidebar widgets where I already have [tag div] Block 16, or just disappear completely. I have literally spent an hour simply trying to place one [tag div] Block 16 , but with no luck. I have been able to place some, but I am having great problems with others.
I would be grateful for any assistance and advice.
