I have tested once again this just like you said using just 12 articles, got the exact the expected result, 7 articles in block 7 and 5 in block 8 using the unique articles feature and theme’s last version 4.1.

Should work fine, try to update your theme and make sure you don’t use any other block or slider on your page that could use the posts, in that case the posts appear there and not in the block when using the unique article feature.

If you want to divide/separate the sidebar content for main content the best solution in this case would be to use a different block in the sidebar, I noticed you use block 3 in the sidebar, maybe it should look much better to use block 5 or 4.
You can also do it using css and use the display: none; property on block images but I would not recommend that.

Use page builder to create and customize your block then move to classic mode get the shortcode and add it using the do_shortcode function in which template you like.
You can search the forum or the web on how to add the shortcode using this method.

You have to select every block you want and add this using the :after selector.

What you want is not an easy task and needs custom work, you could do it yourself or hire a freelancer to do it for you.

To change the big slider and normal slider color font use this css:

.iosSlider .td-sbig-title-wrap a, .iosSlider .td-sbig-title-wrap span {
color: red !important;
}

To change the mete info/category color use this css:

.iosSlider .slide-meta a, .iosSlider .slide-meta span {
color: red !important;
}

If you don’t want to change the date color also, remove the .iosSlider .slide-meta span

For the tag widget use this:

.widget_tag_cloud .block-title span {
color: red !important;
}

The size of the tag widget is determined by the amount of tag displayed there, so you can’t re-size it only if you reduce the size of the tag container. Use this css to do that:

.widget_tag_cloud .tagcloud a {
padding: 0px 5px 0px;
font-size: 11px !important;
}

You can use a block to display the posts without image from that category and then use css to remove the space of the image, like i did here:

Using this css:

min-height: 100%;
}

.page .td_mod9 .item-details {
margin-left: 0px;
}

I used block 6. I have removed the space for the image. You can do the same for your page.

You can use the same css in your case or you can customize your own block.
Add the css in Theme Panel > Custom CSS.

Use this CSS to disable link:

.td_block7 .block-title {
pointer-events: none;
cursor: default;
}

Replace the .td_block7 with the class for the block you are using.
