Create a page Homepage2 to be used for your homepage instead of initial homepage and paste this in classic editor:

For menu you can use text instead of that icons, there is no limitation.

The middle slide don’t have a title, if you select All categories on that slider write a title on Optional – custom title for this block.

I don’t know what is that line above the sliders, could you give us an URL of your site to take a look.

You can change how the article to show on you homepage(module 1 display full posts). You can see here all modules type http://import.tagdiv.com/newspaper/doc/#blocks

On the big slider when you click on a post will open the post, do you want to click and open an external URL?! For that you can use a plugin, like Page Links To and on each post you can set a custom external URL.

You can make the logo to be bigger, but from code.
You have to delete the ads section from logo_ad.php file and than from css you can make a bigger logo. We are working on an update to let you use full width logos.

Custom taxonomies is something that we will address in the next update. We are working to improve the data source part of the modules. If events calendar uses custom taxonomies, the blocks will be able to pull the events. I think we tested the plugin in a page setup.

i’ve made here some tests – add this at the end of your functions.php and use the [td_sape] shortcode where you want to output the links. (It can be used in sidebar text block and in text block in pagebuilder)
